Politics / Re: In The Southeast, Okorocha's Government Is Way Ahead. by oneeast: 11:36am On Jun 23, 2013
I don't know why Imo people are this gullible. This is same governor that have not provided a single employment in a state ravaged by wide scale poverty, insecurity, etc. But the governor have been talking like a parrot. Rochas is nothing but a clown and clueless. All this deceptive projects started by this comedian has been dumped immediately they were started. EFCC are always arresting his commissioners for fraud that are linked to the gov.

A state that has not seen a single development since 1999. A state that has been ruled by fraudsters since 1999. Imagine a crap of a Secretariat, just looks like the first storey building built by Lugard in 1985 at Lokoja.

Have you ever listened to Wole Soyinka's interviews.
I was mesmerized by how Sowore was able to answer questions directly in the last encounter that had Okupe, Soyinka and Sowore in attendance

Soyinka is just a less comical and less dramatic version of Patrick Obahiagbon.
Problem with Soyinka is that he is too rigid and tries too hard to impress with crammed up vocabularies which distort the message in the context he uses them.

This is a fact. Infact I have not seen any difference between Patrick Obahiagbon and Wole Soyinka grammar. Mixing Yoruba and english at the same time just like Patrick grin grin grin grin

Here are the greatest two Africans..a South African and an Igbo-Nigerian.

So I guess its fair to call drogba father of African football?

People like Pele, Maradona has done much more than Drogba.

Mention one African that has his singular book translated into over 50 languages? Just mention one.

Before Achebe outside world knew nothing about Africa, Achebe took Africa to the world stage. Igbos didn't even tag him that title, it was a Noble holder from South Africa that actually called Achebe the Father of African Literature. It grew like wild fire to all over the world.

Today at the world stage Achebe is known as the father of modern African literature. His works has affected people all over the world more any other African writer. His works is a standard curriculum in virtually all the universities around the world. So in a nutshell its a giant feat no African has got to. That is why Achebe is an eagle on iroko. Father of African Literature RIP

ayox2003:

Honestly, his points are flawless. Come-to-think-of-it, if civilisation started in Egypt- which is now africa- before the birth of Christ, then its very senseless to say the "Father of African Literature" died in 2013. Makes african literature assume a toddler stage. Even Igbo literature has been way before the birth of Achebe but the fact that we africans are poor record keepers made our past heroes and giant disappear into oblivion.

For a thing, Achebe did excellently well in his chosen field but saying he's the Father of those who passed his culture to him makes it very watery. Plus, because it was written in a whitemans language makes it "un-african".

Achebe is definitely the most popular writer but Father? Shove it.

Frawzey

Yes it is possible that there were people that came before Achebe. But the fact of it all is that Achebe popularized and brought to the world stage African Literature. Infact Achebe created in the first instance what is known as African Literature. This is because before him came, people like Joseph Conrad had written off Africa as savages and wild dungeon until Achebe intervened and gave to the world what is known today as the African Literature. This is how Achebe came to be known world wide as the Father of Modern African Literature.

Here is another report from US. The point am trying to make is that Igbos did not give him this crown rather the world did. It spread like a wild fire all over the world and they started calling him the best of Africa. His work was the only work out of Africa that got to the world stage.

"The Nigerian author Chinua Achebe, Africa's best-known contemporary novelist passed away today at the age of 82. Though he is still best known for his classic 1958 novel, Things Fall Apart, Achebe had been back in the news last year for his memoir, There Was a Country, in which he recounted, for the first time in print, the story of his involvement with the Biafran government during the bloody 1967-1970 civil war. He was one of FP's Top 100 Global Thinkers last year."

Making reference to the bold, if there was any other better than this man Achebe in the literary world they wouldn't have accorded the position of AFRICA'S BEST.

wawa_boy: Story! Then u collected the 3Billìon from okorocha to impeach his deputy. First why did you go to Awka. Greedy politicians

Don't mind the fools. He went to Emeka Offor's Mansion in Awka and collected 3B, and when he was caught he diverted and misfired and impeached the Deputy Gov. The fact is that Okorosha will not make it as a gov till 2015. His own impeachment or removal is just around the corner so far the presidency is weighing into it coupled with heavy weights as Emeka Offor.

Post pictures of shut up. I won't engage you in tomfoolery.

I will not rather join you in this show of shame. Maybe Yorubas should start uploading pictures of Lagos as the pride of SW, because apart from Abuja there is no Nigerian city that comes close. You guys should stop this madness and allow cities to speak for itself and not coming online to upload poorly constructed roads. Its really a shame for you guys to lump entire SE as having enugu state as their pride, its absurb, whereas in reality its very very far from being true. Igbos are republicans and capitalistic in nature, we tend to seek for our own. enugu state can be your pride as enugu state people, but not for us here. Get it straight.

THnaks you my brother. If they say Enugu is not the pride of the east then they should provide pics of wherever they think is more organized and livable in the south-east. You don't go about bad-mouthing other places out of jealousy and yet you can't provide a single picture that adds credence to your argument.

In your mind it is livable? And the place is a place with the least population in the east. Don't let me embarrass you on this thread. You need to go back and find out what development is about. This was an existing roads that the gov over-laid poorly, not that he did something new and significant in the state that you warrant you guys to be jumping up and down enugu this! enugu that !. Like somebody already said dissociate SE from your show of shame, because we have more important SE cities that do Ndigbo proud than all these una nonsense. No wonder Ndi-ofe use to laugh at us.

I really don't have a problem with Abagworo, it's some people that are pushing him to say what he's saying. Even though i'm from Enugu, i can tell you that i've had my eyes on Onitsha, Nnewi and Aba for a long time to become the pride of Igboland because these are the cities that can compete worldwide because they have that commercial and industrial feel that Enugu or Owerri doesn't have. It's unfortunate that our Anambra brother will not agree that the way Onitsha is now is not the way it should be. They keep living in denial that Onitsha is now the best thing to happen to the world after Chineke onye nwe anyi. I want to see a clean and modern Aba and Onitsha in my lifetime and we have to keep talking about it and anybody who doesn't like it can jump off the Niger Bridge into river Niger and have his body fed to crocodiles.

Stop it!! Now Abagworo is being forced at gun point to say the obvious fact?? Answer me?
We are okay with the position of Onitsha. Go on and talk about your own place mediocre Enugu state, don't talk on behalf of us and others. Onitsha is getting better by the day, it can only get better, foriegn investors are trooping in on daily basis because conducive environment. Stop mentioning Onitsha on the same page with Aba, because Onitsha is light years ahead of Aba in all its ramifications of development.
Good job Abagworo for standing up for truth at least for once.

Okorocha shld have acted lyk a governor. Instd of fighting over chair(wch is symbolic of wat 9ja politicians fight n cry over), dey shld know dat whoever champions d cause of d igbos might step in2 ikemba's shoes.

The question is does imo state have governor or a bully?

You guys should go back and elect a reasonable and humane working governor as Peter Obi and not some quacked, hacked, talkative, bullying governor in the person of roachas..the simple analysis of him zeros him down as mere tout in the media and public domain

we pratice capitalism and until we switch to socialism the individual remains the driving force. he pays tax, employs peopela and even train others , the govt uses the tax and resources to improve infrastructures(health ,schools), offer scholarships and loans to more individuals and the cycle continues.
