Liar.

The school were never owned by the government. Christians built the schools.

Kwara State, being a Muslim majority state, couldn't have built schools and name it after Christian churches or individuals.

Never, such level of accommodation and tolerance doesn't exist in Kwara state.

The schools were originally owned by Christian bodies but forcefully taken over by the government.

However, government could not change the names because it hasn't paid the agreed compensation to the original owners.
idk if they're forcefully taken by government or not but I do know that it's d government that's been controlling, managing, maintaining and paying the teachers for a very long time, so they're government's property now. But is hijab a bad thing? At least it's for only d Muslims among the students.

TV/Movies / Re: What Are Your Top 5 Movies And Series Of All Time? by Onitola2: 11:41pm On Dec 30, 2020
ogbiwa:
Name the top 5 movies and top 5 series of all time that you've seen

Mine:

MOVIES

5 - The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King
The last battle between the humans ad th orcs is one of the most epic battle scenes of all time.

4 - The Rattlesnake
Surprising because I hardly watch Nollywood. But this Amaka Igwe's 95 or 96 classic is a legendary story (Ahanna, Peter, Adaugo etc)

3 - Black Hawk Down
My best war film of all time. Shows the gritty and not so heroic aspects of war fims. Same as Mel Gibson's We Were Soldiers and Tom Hank's Saving Private Ryan. Epics

2 - Troy
Achilles's "We are Lions" speech before the battle of Troy still leaves a lump in my throat whenever I watch it. As well as the death scene of prince Hector. I am still angry though that Paris and his lover get to survive after Troy was destroyed and everyone else died due to the stupidity they called love.

1 - Titanic
Everything about this movie intrigues me. Literally everything. From when the ship left Southampton, when Jack met Rose, that epic "My heart will go on" soundtrack against the backdrop of a ship on an endless ocean at night (tears). Even when old Rose threw the diamond into the black ocean and watched it sink to the bottom. Absolutely classic

Notable mentions:
Robo cop
Con air
12 years a slave
Air Force One (Harrison Ford)
Harriet
The notebook
Hotel Rwanda
Wedding party
The Mummy
Mr Bones
Black November
American sniper

SERIES

5 - Modern Family
My favorite characters
Jay Pritchett
Luke
Dylan grin
Phil
Gloria

4 - Strike Back
The only downside to this series is that Michael and Scott are virtually unkillable. They'll enter a house with 50 armed hostiles shooting at them yet all the bullets miraculously miss them, yet they kill the hostiles with only one shot each. But other than that this series keeps me glued. Micheal and Scott's bromance is the highlight of the entire series

3 - Two and a half men
Only up to season 8 though. After they removed Charlie it became a snorefest. Ashton Kutcher did not in anyway make up for Charlie's absence in my opinion. But the seasons with Charlie oh my God grin

2 - 24
What can I say. I have learnt A LOT about politics, cyber warfare, terrorism etc from this series.

1 - Game of thrones
Every single scene in Game of thrones is a classic. Every single scene. No other series does this for me. I have probably watched all seasons at least 3 times

Notable mentions:
How I met your mother
Friends
The Punisher
Orange county
Money heist

So that's mine. Let's have yours.
nice list, I'll put vampire diaries and the originals b4 two and a half men tho

I was married 2018 and I stayed in abuja while my wife stay in ogun state due to job, so in August 2019 she got pregnant and in March 2020 surgery was done in order to bring out the baby due to her increase bp cos we could not wait for her to give birth in May as a result of increase blood pressure.

The surgery was successful and d baby was put in incubator but after 5 days d baby died.

So in June I went to doctor for check up and tests were carried out i.e semen analysis, testosterone analysis, urinalysis and uric msc. It was confirmed I was having a very low sperm count of just 2.8 million sperm count instead of anything from 15-20 million that can fertilize an egg to b able to get pregnant.

I don't understand why a man will be treated for infertility just 2 months after his wife gave birth.
having low sperm count doesn't necessarily mean that you can't impregnate a woman, it takes just a cell to fertilize an egg, and u have over 2 million. If ur motility is OK, u can't impregnate. Low sperm count means ur chances are low, not that it's impossible.

Sports / Re: Are Non-african Professional Footballers Really Innocent Of Age Fraud? by Onitola2: 9:13pm On Dec 16, 2020
Tripitaka:
Every weekend i watch the EPL, i keep pondering on this. Are European footballers really innocent of Age Fraud as the media will like us to believe? Is age fraud really just an African or South American thing?

I just read where Lampard was blaming fatigue for his players inability to perform in the defeat against Wolves and I couldn't help but wonder where the fatigue stemmed from exactly. They last played on Saturday against Everton which gives them 3 solid days to rest, yet these guys say they are fatigued? How?

Football is played for 90mins split into two halves of 45mins with a 15min break between halves. Yet, they talk about fatigue? Mind you, they do not run marathons on the pitch, for the most part, they jog around, sometimes walk, they only move at full speed when going on counters or trying to stop one. So how cant these guys perform optimally twice in a week?

For context, I have a cousin who is a football freak. At 33, he plays on Friday evenings and Sunday mornings every week. But never says he is too tired to play the next week. How then can a professional footballer who has access to world class training grounds, clinically designed pitches, personalized training routine, top psychologists, top nutritionists and dietitians, top sporting gears that have been designed to bring the best out of them tell me he is too tired too play, unless his biological clock is ticking.

The local street footballers even play everyday on tattered boots, terrible ground with zero protection. Most of them do menial jobs, eat carbohydrate laden foods 80% of the time, have no rest, yet can play for 2hrs everyday.

How can a footballer retire at 33 to 35 saying he can't play a 90mins game anymore for once a week? I really can't wrap my head around this. Personally, I believe most of them may not be as young as they will like us to believe.
if u live among them, you'll see that they mature with big stature very early and ur data is with government since birth so it's very hard ( almost impossible ) to lie about ur age, here nobody is tracking ur data, all u need to change ur profile here is one nonsense affidavit. Moreover they eat and live well than us here, their database is for everyone, not just footballers, whereas u can just get affidavit and claim you're 10 years younger today in 9ja, that's how taiye taiwo is over 10 years younger than his twin brother, God is great.

1, Sharia is Arabic word for law, it's we Nigerians that call it sharia law, it's actually Islamic law.
2. law is The body of binding rules and regulations, customs and standards established in a community by its legislative and judicial authorities.
3. The Islamic law comprises of belief (whom and what to believe), worship ( how to worship Allah - our God -), morals ( knowing rights from wrongs - how to dress, eat, being patient, saying good words always, disallowing racism, not wasting things.... ) interactions (between we humans -buying and selling, marriage, inheritance ..... ), punishment (for offenders like murderer, theif, adulterer, trespasser.... )
4, it's funny that when some people hear sharia, what comes to their mind is punishment (or killing ). That's ignorance
5, you Christians have what u believe in, how u worship, morals, how to interact ,what is allowed and what's not allowed in Christianity... That's rules and regulations (law to be precise )

Christian are not part of sharia law, any law you saw in the bible was mosaic law, God law is in the spirit not law. Moses was a mortal man is effort trying to put the law out became a problem.

The main giver of the law JESUS CHRiST came down to fulfill the law, meaning there was no law but the word of God. The Word Of God is the way that pleases God and you abide in God and God in you.

In all your ways seek the Lord, never trust in your own wisdom. Have a cordial relationship with God in this you can have with all men.

The law and the spirit are not the same

You were born in your family. you don't need a law to keep you in unity with your Dad, mom and siblings you know how to strengthen things out and let love lead. Cause your family is base on blood from the heart.

We are born in to one family of Christ with our all in us, Jesus, so why do we need law to live together when our love is stronger than any.

So it's a brotherhood and sisterhood under one father, so everyone knows how to see another person as yourself
does that mean Christianity is lawless because every religion ( society ) has its own law.

Sports / Re: 5 Reasons Barca's President Is Responsible For The Club's Woes by Onitola2: 12:50pm On Aug 16, 2020
Sanchez01:
The humiliation of Barcelona at the hands of Bayern prior to the match last night was imminent as there had been signs all through the just-ended La Liga (LL) campaign. What the world didn't know was how bad the humiliation would be.

And while it seems like the perfect 'cruise' to blame Messi for disappearing in the game and even compare him to Ronaldo in those kinds of moments, Messi is not in any way responsible for the result. Rather, the club's president's philosophy is responsible and if anyone were to leave, it should be him. Below are my 5 reasons:

1. A Dying La Masia

La Masia means "The Farm House", in Spanish and it is the dubbed name for the once-famed Barcelona youth academy. The Farm House where raw talents were handpicked into the Barcelona first team produced the likes of Mikel Arteta, Luis Garcia Sanz, Cesc Fabregas, Thiago Motta, Gerard Pique, Sergio Busquets, Carles Puyol, Pep Guardiola, Andres Iniesta, Xavi Hernandez, and Lionel Messi himself.

The La Masia, at some point, made one of the top 3 best football academies in the world, falling behind Santos and Ajax youth system. While Madrid, through Florentino Perez pursued the "Galacticos" (meaning 'superstars'; a philosophy that only expensive world-class footballers will only be signed to Real Madrid) era, Barcelona youth system excelled and held the world spellbound, season after season, Real Madrid's first "Galacticos" project failed and Perez was fired. Some of the world's biggest names emerged through Barcelona's youth rank, playing a compact football style known in the academy known as the tiki-taka. Johan Cruyff, as a coach would only go ahead to adopt the style, making him one of Barcelona's most successful managers.

About 18 years after Messi progressed through the youth rank, Barcelona and Real Madrid have gone in opposite directions. While Madrid now look towards developing players from its youth rank, Barcelona has been neck-deep in signing talented superstars who are either oblivious to the club's style of play or unnecessarily surplus to requirement in the team. Ibrahimovic, Henry, Dembele, Griezmann, Vidal, Philippe Coutinho, Frenkie de Jong, the list is endless.

With an aging and declining first team, only a few promising players have managed to get noticed in the team while Madrid keep looking inward and churning out more footballers from its youth rank. The problem? Barcelona's president believes big names are the answer.

2. Aging Messi

An aging Messi isn't the problem and he isn't responsible for this. It is nature's call which must be answered. The problem here is the total reliance and dependence on one of the world's finest footballers who is being treated like aging is a sin. A club with a foresight will know better that what brought about dominance at some point isn't the Messi factor but a fluid midfield which the likes of Iniesta, Xavi and Busquet provided. Sadly, since their departure, Barcelona has invested more in defenders and forwards, leaving the midfield to God.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid, Barcelona's arch-rival have found it convenient to sit out maestros such as Kroos and Modric conveniently in games. Barcelona is one of the world's biggest clubs reputable for horrible signings.

3. The Backline Factor

Although Shakira's boyfriend has hinted he'll be the first to leave should the board decides to ax certain players, the stunt is all but a psychological attempt. Pique is worn out, old, and out of ideas. Already, he is incapable of stopping quick 'feety' footballers compared to his sworn subtle rival, Sergio Ramos. Those who were fixated on the match against Bayern Munich would have seen how Alba never stopped panting, mostly in the second half. Although the tradition with old age and defense is that you get better as you age. This can be seen in Ramos who is undoubtedly the world's finest defender even though the heart of his man can be desperately wicked.

The four backline of the team is worn and torn, even with the introduction of new blood who are mostly MIA due to injury. Barcelona needs to look inward and focus on replacing Pique, mostly. There are old but amazing defensive midfielders who can play at the back that have been hinted of exits in certain clubs (whispers P*S*G).

4. The Fear of Messi

The fear of Messi is probably what led to this disaster in the first place, from not liking a particular coach, to the fear of leaving and must be pleased mindset. The president and the club have been pawns in the hands of Messi for too long and they must wrestle themselves from his grip.

Messi is the only player in the team who will hit back at any executive who dare blames the team or criticize their lackluster performances on the pitch. Messi has been known to challenge the club's hierarchy not on the field, not among the players but on Instagram when one of the top dogs blame the team for something. The resulting effect is mostly accompanied by a sack, reshuffled positions, and more importantly, an increase in his wage. When Messi took to blasting the sporting director, Eric Abidal in February, many sports houses guessed there was something at play. Of course, it was political and Messi knew it. Getting to win the presidential election at FCB means having Messi as your best friend. What many players would take sticks for, Messi would do conveniently while the corporate guys fall over themselves to either retract their statements, apologize or instantly increase Messi's paycheck.

As a player, you might not necessarily need to be talented. If Messi likes you and wishes for you to remain at Barcelona, it will remain so except you wish to go on your accord.

This power is dangerous. Anyways, Eric Abidal is set to be sacked after 'defending' Setien. Could it be that he is about to be axed for criticizing the team in February

5. An Aging Team

Madrid has stood on this spot Barcelona is standing now and understand what will eventually become of them when their first team retire and fall out like a domino. While this is hinged on the failure of the club's executive in focusing on the Farm House, the after effect will be devastating and will paint a similar picture of Barcelona's LL final matchday that saw Osasuna beat them. Barcelona themselves have been in this position before, particularly after Puyol, Xavi and Iniesta left.

Unfortunately for the club, the after effect will be felt, and for a long time should Messi exit the team. It is however not too late to start focusing on bringing in talented youngsters. Right now, Madrid is reveling in the glory of its talented youths right now that some of them (notably Kubo, Hakimi, and Odegaard) have all been loaned out while the others jostle for starting places. As a matter of fact, Zidane confused the world after the restart by changing his first 11 per game in order to unburden them. Barcelona might not have the understanding to replicate this right now but the idea of a legendary footballer who is now at the "Messi" (pun intended) of the team and a laughing stock to the world is unfair and mismanaged.
d board no get sense, shey na Messi dey tell dem to buy guys wey no fit their system, 4 how long do u want a single person (no matter how good ) to keep scoring, assisting, playmaking, dribble every season, u surely need fitting talent around him, even CR7 once complained that Madrid couldn't win games because others were not on his level. Messi still has a lot to offer, he has about 50 goals contribution this season just that once he's marked out, others run out of ideas (cut the snakes head, the body dies. )

You are just spewing nonsense. We are in a democracy and not autocracy. Buhari is being abused daily by IPOB, PDP and others, no one is calling for beheadings. Governors are being insulted everyday on social media, nobody has been killed for it yet.

I don't understand how someone can compare boycotting of a film one finds distasteful and beheadings because of it. Did muslims decide to boycott the Danish magazine that made a cartoon of muhammad? No, they went on killing Christians at random around the world.
1, d man knows d punishment before committing d offense, what will it cost him not to do it? 2, D magazine u talked about made a cartoon of Muhammad ( clearly mocking him with the contents - unless of course u never read/view it ), D Danish Muslims protested peacefully for over a year but their prime Minister declared it as freedom of expression ( its purely political controversy ). Those that turned d issue into violence d following year were wrong as Islam prohibits violence, but it could have been sorted long before by d Danish authorities. 3, blasphemy attracts death penalty in Christianity and Judaism also, why are making it seem like it's only in Islam?

Death Sentence For Blasphemy At Kano: A Perspective by O. G. Chukkol

I have been following arguments on social media for the past two days about the death sentence passed on one Yahaya Aminu Sheriff for blasphemy (insulting prophet Mohammed PBH) at Kano.

Let me make few observations here:

1. There is actually a Shariah Penal Code law in Kano state

2. The said Shariah Penal Code makes provision for offences and punishments recognized in Islam

3. The Shariah Penal Code Law prohibits blasphemy and a violator risks death sentence. See section section 382 thereof.

4. The Shariah Penal Code Law of Kano applies to Muslims only

5. The Shariah Penal Code Law of Kano does not apply to non Muslims. So a Christian or any other non Muslim cannot be prosecuted under the law except if he consents to it

6. Sheriff was tried and convicted under the Shariah Penal Code Law because he was a Muslim.

7. Sheriff has the right to appeal to a higher court for his conviction to be reviewed or set aside if the trial court was wrong.

8. Governor of Kano State has the final say on Sheriff's conviction. He can pardon Sheriff and allow him go free or change the punishment or sign death warrant for Sheriff to be executed/killed as ordered by court

9. A non Muslim who insults prophet Mohammed or commits any other form of blasphemy can at best be tried under the general Penal Code law for defamation or breach of public peace or any other related offence depending on exactly what the person says

In view of the foregoing, I will completely refrain from commenting on the appropriateness of death sentence for blasphemy because it is an Islamic injunction entrenched in a written law. Besides, I may not even be objective about it because I am not a Muslim, but a Christian. I will only end up pouring my sentiment in the guise of criticism. To me, is not even logical to use my religion to condemn another religion.

I submit further, for the purpose of emphasis, that the offence of blasphemy applies to Muslims only and they are in support of it. They are comfortable with it because their religion provides for it. I cannot take panadol for somebody's headache

Had it been the offence applies to non Muslims also, I would have immediately condemned it for being unconstitutional.

It should be noted that the Shariah Penal Code was enacted pursuant to section 38 of the constitution which provides for right to freedom of religion and sections 4 and 6 of the constitution which gives states power to make laws and also establish courts for themselves and also section 36(12) which provides that person can be convicted for an offence only if the said offence is defined in a written law with sanctions attached.

That is to say, the Supreme Law of the land has given them backing. They can practice their religion provided that a non Muslim shall not be affected

Let me drop my pen here. Everything I put down here is strictly my opinion and I may be wrong.

Greetings Ladies and gentlemen

Chukkol

whether d law makes sense to u or not, a sane person wouldn't do such a thing when u know it's punishment is severe, u can't even abuse a governor or a president in public, Muslims don't toy with their leader (prophet muhammad s.a.w.), and they regard Jesus as a prophet like him so they give him due respect, so u won't see them abusing Jesus, some people (majorly Christians) made a film of Jesus being a gay not long ago, how many Christians stood up to boycott it?

He has the network and funds and even sympathy to become the governor of his state, that will afford him the opportunity to show what he can do, grant him access to funds and a huge political capital to mobilize and oil his machinery for a presidential contest.
Why the Waziri hasn't done this and if he goes away politically, I won't blame obj. He's always had a political lifeline.
from vp, to aspiring presidency, to governor? That's called down, down, down, down....

Messi did his part in d 1st leg against Liverpool last year, came short in d 2nd leg, we laughed then, so we'll laugh now.... Like Messi, CR7 can't carry d team alone, he once complained that Madrid couldn't win games because others were not on his level. Both are not coward, they're just humans. (better ones tho)

shocked

Anywhere there is Islamic practice, freedom is shredded, war and bloodshed is entrenched. These are facts.

Wherever Islam finds itself as minority, peace is destroyed, agitation is embraced. They become relentless, restless, and violent. These are facts.

Where Islam is majority, hope is caged, a deadly oppression of minorities is executed. These are facts.

When Mohammed went to the cave seeking answers from God, little did he know that the demon that met him at the cave with Islam was no Angel but a violent, restless, and thirsty spirit.

Constantly at war with itself, there is no doubt that it is the most consequential religion man has ever known after the death of Christ.

u seem to know history, so 4 how many years was Muhammad and his companions been molested b4 he later retaliated? Or u want him to be dragged down d streets and be killed like ur own God?
