Nightshift: They probably thought Anini and Osunbor had arrived town! Stories of Nigerian policemen running for their lives wherever they sight a white Santana was popular. I no blame your family members sha, even then Bendel military Gov. Useni, was rumoured to be scared of Anini's gang.

It wasn't benin but Asaba @ cable point grin

Find Out!:

Seriously bro. The acceleration that comes from that car & the EOD, even from the 4 cylinder versions, is wonderful, especially when you are driving the manual tranny. The auto is also quite impressive too. & despite the swiftness, the cars (especially the babyboy) still consume little fuel.

But if I wish to get a car for constant highway driving (even if its our rubbish Lagos Ibadan expressway), mehn, i'm going german straight cheesy I always feel especially wow-ed anytime I drive a friend's V6 Passat manual tranny (1999 model o, not 2013). You won't get up to that thrill even when driving a 2007 V6 Accord. You may get more acceleration (maybe), but the Passat will be a smoother ride.

Try Toyota Tundra 2004 model grin grin

Nightshift: VW Santana - Lawrence Anini and Monday Osunbor gave it a near James Bond image car during their terror years of 1985/86 in Benin City. It was a speedster then and terrified Nigerian Police like hell....

During that time 1985 my father bought his own Volkswagen Santana brand new at a rate of #45000 only in volkswagen company Lagos. The funny thing about it is that when he brought the car to our compound everybody ran inside and shut the door including my mum.

Politics / Re: NIMET 2013 Excessive Rainfall Predictions by oniwo(m): 12:02am On Feb 16, 2013
felixzo1: Sokoto, Kebbi others to have excessive rainfall in 2013- Meteorological Agency

Nigerian Metrological Agency warns of heavy rain fall in some parts of the North

There might be excessive rainfall in Sokoto, Kebbi, Niger and Kwara states, the Nigerian Meteorological Agency, NIMET, predicted on Friday.

For the rest of the country, however, there will be normal rainfall, the agency said.

The Director-General of NIMET, Anthony Anuforom, made the information known at the public presentation of the 2013 Seasonal Rainfall Prediction, SRP, and Nigeria Climate Review Bulletin in Abuja.

He said the rainfall pattern in most parts of Nigeria is likely to be similar to that of 2012.

“However, some areas in the North-western parts of the country, which also fall within the catchment area of River Niger, the total rainfall predicted for 2013 may exceed that of 2012.
“Rainfall for 2013 is predicted to be normal over large areas of the country. The expected changes in the annual rainfall are well below normal in Abeokuta and above normal over Ibadan and Yelwa areas.
“The predicted rainfall for the Northwest areas of Sokoto, Kebbi, Niger, Kwara and environs is likely to be above normal in comparison to 2012,’’ he said.

Mr. Anuforom advised relevant authorities to use NIMET’s updates issued regularly to control possible adverse impacts.

He said the forecast is not automatic and could change due to climate change.

Mr. Anuforom said the volume of rainfall for the year would range from 420 cubic metres spread over 120 days in the extreme North-East to 2,980 cubic metres over a period of 290 days.

“These forecasts are statements of probability and are based on the available scientific knowledge and data.

“Man’s knowledge is still limited and, therefore, some margin of error within tolerable limits is not unusual.

“The conditions that determine the rainfall pattern over Nigeria have become more variable due to the effects of climate change and global warming.

“’This is a big challenge for atmospheric scientists all over the world. NIMET will continue to monitor the trend in all parts of the country and publish updates as the rainy season progresses,’ Mr. Anuforom said.

He explained that the early release of the forecast is to create good lead-time for adequate preparation against risks and hazards associated with weather and climate extremes.
The Minister of Aviation, Stella Oduah, who was represented by Clement Dosunmu, the Acting Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, said weather information is important to humanity.

She urged NIMET to fulfill to its mandate by ensuring that the information got to the end users in time.

“The information in these publications are useful for planning, decision-making and policy formulation, especially in those sectors of the economy that are sensitive to weather.

“It is expected that the early release of the 2013 SRP will enable all stakeholders apply the information in planning and executing their activities in such a way as to reduce vulnerability to climate extremes,’’ Ms. Oduah said.

He is an old fool , there are new generation of Nigerians who does not give a shit about history and who are not ready to bow to any "baba" or general. He thinks it is fantasy for those who wish to secede, this monkey is still leaving in a fantasy world.....you can't force people to live together if they not want to.....Scotland still want to leave UK, same in Spain......instead he should be talking of proper federalism or regional governance
