globemoney01: I sincerely think that those dumb boys claiming to be peter Obi's supporters are actually his enemies that are looking for help in undermining his chances by trying to denigrate Obiano. Don't oblige them. Like Anambra1st son said, let us sheath our swords and fight the outsider battles for now. It is unwise to attack Obi at this crucial time. of course, sometimes his dumb followers provoke you into stating the facts. But, i do think that either those boys are way too dumb to see the harm they are doing or they are actually very clever enemies of Peter obi posing as his supporters to use us in undermining him. 3 Likes |

I'm surprised that he has not issued an ultimatum that Putin will drop atomic bombs on Nigeria if some silly IPOB demand was not met. These IPOB touts are irredeemable anarchists that cannot function in any sane society. A bunch of kanda brains calling themselves IPOB guys, and scamming already impoverished Nigerians by promising them that they will deploy US marines to restore Biafra before December.

You crook. You have written trash into my comment to make it appear as though i said all your nonsense. Anyway, i will not attack Peter Obi. You have FAILED in your childish prank. All i would tell you is that even Peter Obi could not dispute Obiano's rebuttal that the phantom money was not as stated. Again at the twilight of his regime, everyone was aware that Peter Obi kept flagging off new roads, hired 10,000 new workers and a plethora of abandoned projects such as Agulu and Onitsha hotels, Awka, Nnewi and Onitsha malls to name a few. The fact that he does not mention the liabilities and how much it cost Obiano to complete them speaks volumes about his character. Whether you like it or not, Peter Obi had very limited capacity to achieve big projects, and thus focused his effort on achieving only the millennium development goals , while Obiano had great dreams for Anambra state and huge personal capacity to lead people towards achieving great feats. Thus, he focused his attention on landmark projects to help Anambra become the great state that it is today. While i wish Obi victory in 2023, it should not be done on the alter of forcefully claiming all Obiano's achievements as his own. We were all here when Obi refused to even acknowledge or use the Anambra International Airport! Even after Andy Uba and Ngige had done so and publicly praised Obiano for achieving the age long dream that they all played limited roles in helping to secure the land when they were governors. Till date , Obi has not publicly commended Obiano for achieving the dream of Anambra people to own an airport since 1982! Shamelessly claiming that the project he criticized an unnecessary waste of funds was indeed his brainchild just because Obiano ignored him and worked very hard to deliver the project! Today, Soludo is working very hard to execute his vision for the state. While Peter Obi is busy junketting Nigeria for his personal ambitions. When Soludo succeeds, Peter Obi will go and meet the governor of Nassarawa state to claim Soludo's achievements as his own. 1 Like 1 Share |

globemoney01: The problem is how to increase IGR, expand income from taxes and levies WITHOUT overburdening of the taxpayers. I think Soludo's finance commissioner and budget&Planning team are intellectually lazy to dream up new sources of revenue and expand the tax base. For instance, i was in Awka to inspect my building projects. Now, there are more than 10,000 plots of land in just the new estate alone! All the landlords had applied for C of O from the government and the state government officials said that they were not issuing any! Mind you, each land owner in the estate was willing to pay 200k each for a C of O from Anambra state government , yet they won't issue and gain the revenue. Instead, the only idea that comes to their head is how to increase taxes on keke snd okada operators! This is why Soludo needs those exposed to internal revenue services abroad to advise him. Than the current clueless people in the finance ministry. Again as i previously mentioned , Anambra csn quadruple its IGR simply by creating an agency that enforced traffic laws. Those who contravene traffic laws are fined 10k to 25k on the spot! The money must be paid via POS or bank transfer to avoid leakages from cash payments. If Anambra had s traffic agency like LASTMA whose job depended on meeting stipulated quota, they will apprehend traffic violators and make Anambra roads safer. While helping to generate revenue for their continued employment and boosting the state's IGR. 3 Likes |

Chikeluba25: Obiano deserves a hero's welcome each time he is back home. His vision is still gradually unfolding for Anambra. Imagine that a pilot told me that the airport was one of the few in the country where aviation fuel was constantly available. To top it up. They don't play with safety while refueling aircrafts. They even pull out a crash tender to stand by even for just refueling. Talk about doing things by international standards. God bless Willie Obiano and may God help Soludo to suceed even more than Obiano! 10 Likes 2 Shares

Again, let me use this opportunity to dispel the lies by one online media man, Njenje Media that claimed the airport could not sit up to 100 people. I counted 634 seats just in the upper deck alone! On the day i flew to Abuja from there, i came quite early in order to do a thorough inspection of the facility and have documented picture evidence for the future. When people would throw out their lies. Meanwhile, the seats were not crammed together. In fact, you could add more if you wanted. All these lies just to convey the false impression that Anambra International Airport was not standard just to spite the builder of the facility is very shameful. 10 Likes 4 Shares

globemoney01: As much as some people deny the astounding accomplishments of Obiano especially in the Anambra International Airport, it is just impossible to wish away these very tangible things! Meanwhile lettable shops have been completed and Stanel mart already operates daily at the airport for all your edibles while awaiting your flight. The avio bridges are being completed and all other facilities are already functional. The only thing remaining is to lobby one European or Middle Eastern airline to begin scheduled international flight services to the airport. In fact, the facilities are better than the current so called international airports in Nigeria. Except perhaps only Abuja airport. Again, as much as some faceless characters would like to lie that these things don't exist or downplay their HUGE significance in the economic development of Anambra, i will continue to commend Obiano for his service and huge accomplishments! The same way that i would commend Soludo when he begins to make his own marks in the sands of time. 12 Likes 4 Shares

Phase2 will link phase 1 at the airport and reach Awka. Phase 3 will connect Ekwuluobia to Nnewi to the airport and Phase4 will connect Aguleri to the airport. Thus, the airport will be the major interchange for traveling to other parts of the state. It will be as ground breaking as the airport. If not better. 6 Likes 1 Share |

globemoney01:Frankly, the attempt to rubbish Obiano's fantastic achievements is very annoying and shameful. Who said that you cannot promote Peter Obi and still accord Obiano his due? Both men served Anambra from two different perspectives. Peter Obi proritized millennium development goals(MDGs) while Obiano prioritized enabling infrastructure of his 5 developmental pillars/priority areas. He achieved the 5 pillars including the oil and gas pillar that was considered a tall order when Obiano said he would make Anambra an oil producing state. Even if anyone denies that Obiano was known as the alert governor for 8 years, that he funded schools, hospitals, small scale industrial clusters. If the person with retrograde amnesia denies that Obiano intituted rice revolution in Anambra before our own eyes in this forum. Even if they deny that they were not aware that the state medical school and several courses in the state university were accredited due to Obiano's special priority funds to accredite all programs in Ojukwu state university. No one can deny that Obiano built some of the most outstanding physical infrastructure as roads, flyovers, bridges, hotels, mall, airport, stadium, conference center etc. All his projects especially the hotels. Mall are still the best available in the state till this day. Every where you see anything modern or of international standard / quality in Anambra, it was built by Willie Obiano! ChiefOtunist: Mister, Unlike you that come here to sing praises for 10k or 20k, neither Obiano nor Peter can afford me. I even donated to Peter Obi. So all my effort is for the progress of Anambra state. If money would change hands, its likely me paying them and never the other way round. As i said, they can't afford me to even consult 1hr for them. Obiano worked despite what you revisionists write about him. Of course it was obvious that in the last three years of his administration, he devoted every available resource to complete the airport. Which was a good strategy. Else it would have become the worst atrocious abandoned project in Anambra's history had he not completed it. Of course even during the campaign, Soludo acknowledged that the state of the roads deserve a state of emergency to be declared on roads in Anambra. Soludo would have realized that the state's allocation could only pay salaries. Raising taxes to a level that will guarantee significant development resources would be very very unpopular. Thus the reason for suggesting developing a LASTMA style traffic agency to stem the spate of reckless driving in the state, while generating huge IGR from fining these perpetual dangerous drivers. Also using Direct Labour under professional engineers as supervisors for his roads emergency project later this year. The only issue is whether Soludo would device a system of accepting traffic fines payments only via POS to ensure there are no leakages that will defeat the purpose. 5 Likes 1 Share |

I observed in total dismay that all internal township roads in onitsha, Nnewi and Awka had totally collapsed with huge swimming pools called potholes! Gov. Soludo must understand that N100 billion naira will scratch the surface of massive infrastructural decay in Onitsha and Nnewi. Not to mention Awka, Ekwulobia, and Aguleri. Unless he uses DIRECT LABOUR! For Direct Labour to work, he has to plan it differently from the traditional direct labour utilizing ministry of works. He should employ qualified civil engineers from reputable construction companies to design and supervise the direct labourers. He should also invest in road construction equipment to make their work of high quality. Also, i was shocked that Anambra government was stressing itself on how to raise taxes to generate IGR when there was ample vehicles breaking traffic laws. When Soludo could easily create a Lagos Mass transit authority (LASMA) organization using OCHA brigade. Anyone breaking traffick rule is apprehended and fined 10k or 20k on the spot. They MUST pay via POS into the state account. No cash is accepted for traffic offenses. Also big vehicles causing obstruction by parking on the road or abandoning broken down vehicles on the road are towed and fined 100k or 200k for trucks with goods. Soludo has lived abroad and knows that many local and city governments get their entire funding through issues of tickets against traffic offenders. So this idea should be quite obvious to him. On just sanitizing Anambra roads and enforcing traffic laws, Soludo will get enough IGR to execute any project he wants. Moreso, people will praise the sanity and law of heavy traffic from blocked road junctions. Gov. Soludo must think outside the box to increase IGR and not merely the easy option of raising taxes. Soludo must see the abundant financial opportunity in enforcing traffic rules and fining the abundant offenders according to their offenses. Enforcing traffic rules alone can double Anambra's IGR without even raising taxes on the already impoverished citizens. 6 Likes 2 Shares |

ChimaAdeoye: I have used the airport at least 4 times. I am frustrated with the slow pace of work on the remaining areas such as arrival waiting lounge and departure lounge. Though i don't think their lack of completion should be used as excuse to deny the Airport International operations. Kano, PH and Enugu airport departure lounges , runway and other facilities are way smaller than similar facilities at Anambra International Airport. Yet they are allowed to operate International flights. I think Ezeoke was ill informed by insinuating that the airport was not fit for International operations. Nonetheless, Prof. Soludo earmarked 4 billion naira in this year's budget to complete ongoing projects at the Airport. Thus soon we shall see a completed departure lounge as enemies of Anambra are already converging to use Ezeoke's excuses to frustrate the airport. As unfounded as that excuse is. Many people are still too shocked or embarrassed to come to the realization that these IPOB boys are indeed illiterate fanatics that do not care about Biafra. IGBOSON1: The idea of placing steel dumpsters on major roads is archaic and should be stopped. Refuse should be collected house by house wrapped in plastic bags (waterproof bags) by private companies contracted by the state government. The people pay a very small monthly token for trash like 100 or 200 naira, while the state government subsidizes the rest. The resistance to adopting modern ways of doing things is the bane of the southeast. Everything must be done exactly how it was practiced in the 1950s. By the way, the ONLY way that inner streets can be tarred is if Soludo finally figured out how to utilize direct labor in road building. Training Ministry of works staff to employ laborers to grade streets, build gutter, and apply concrete, interlocking or asphalt overlay is the ONLY way that Soludo can make any appreciable achievement on roads. Many governors hate this method because they cannot steal from the inflated contracts of construction companies. But it is the ONLY way to get many roads completed with the available resources. 6 Likes |

Although Obiano did a fantastic job, it must be emphasized that his facilities were still the minimum required for the airport to become operational before his exit as governor. The airport still needs a lot of development such as its Cargo terminal, the cargo storage facilities within the airport, the flight school, parallel taxiway, airforce base terminal at the 06 end, aviation fuel dump supplied by a mini-refinery in Nsugbe, and so many others. One hopes that Soludo will pursue all the projects to make the airport an international passenger and cargo hub as well as one of the important aviation refueling facility in West Africa. 4 Likes 1 Share |
