All that is left now is to increase the sitting capacity of the Awka City stadium and complete the car parks according to the specifications of the second phase. No need to start replicating sporting facilities again because Anambra already possessed all sporting facilities at Alex Ekwueme Square to host any national or international games. 5 Likes 1 Share

There is no way Anambra would have hosted a huge sports event as the 2020 Nigeria Police games if it did not have all the sporting facilities. Very soon, the state will also possess a FIFA standard stadium to host FIFA soccer events such as international matches. 3 Likes 1 Share

abuzz33: Oga, Say what you know. Anambra already has a sports Arena with all sporting facilities. From Volleyball, Olympic swimming pool, basketball etc. The ONLY sports facility lacked was a FIFA standard stadium for soccer and athletics events. That is why last year's Police Games hosted by the state only used Rojenny stadium for soccer and athletics events. After the event, Obiano promised to build a FIFA standard state stadium in the state, as well as launch a state male and female football team. 1. Anambra Bombers (Male football team) 2. Anambra Babes (Female football team). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BFYGq1pYI1o https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y0IUC8fCqn4 1 Like

Ceegar01: This is the first phase of the stadium. Which is to create a FIFA standard pitch, Floodlights, Public address systems, and able to transmit LIVE matches from the stadium will be completed this year. The second phase of the project is focused on increasing the sitting capacity. I prefer the phased construction approach so that the stadium can continue to be used for sporting events and sports development in the state, while more pavillions are gradually added. Than to leave it abandoned for 10 years until a 30,000 - 50,000 Pavillion is completed. Like many stadia in Nigeria today. 6 Likes 1 Share |

MelesZenawi: I can reveal to you free of charge that Igbos global financial network are still intact. All the Fulani herdsmen, army and DSS childish propaganda that ESN are cannibals and unknown gunmen is TOTALLY ineffective. You guys can continue burning people's houses in Izombe, Awo or Barr Ejiofor's home and say its ESN. Nobody in the entire world is decieved one bit that the perpetrators of these crimes are Fulanis in Nigerian security forces. The grudge any of us have with IPOB is simply on the tactical duties of ESN. Some of us strongly believe that Biafrans MUST have the freedom to hold political opinions and religious beliefs without any fear. I don't like APC, but Biafrans that love them should not be made to live in fear. The same way Biafrans who are jews or Muslims cannot be discriminated on. While i understand there are some criminal elements who infiltrated ESN. Your FG masters silly attempt to frame IPOB or ESN by killing people and forging stories or videoed "confessions" is an indication of your childish mindset. No fool in the world is deceived about the activities of Fulani militias in the south-east zone under the guise of Nigerian army and DSS. If you doubt me, ask your ambassador to sample US diplomatic intelligence on who is behind the killings in south-east Nigeria. Even North Korean government does not indulge in the type of extremely childish propaganda of Nigerian federal government. I don't even think that the Nigerian federal government understands the word "duress". So let them stage more drama to discover where IPOB stationed people who would be suicide bombers or who would be blamed for the bombs the army and DSS would be planting to kill Igbos. Nobody is fooled one bit with these silly dramas. I truly don't have time to join issues with hateful abokis who are sworn to destruction of Ndigbo. A typical aboki does not care about Igbo life. That is why you use the strategy of killing innocent people in the east.. But i just want to let you know that your cover is already blown. So quit trying. 5 Likes 1 Share |

Landmack: Yes, I contributed MONTHLY to IPOB financially for so many years! In fact, many people here know me as the person that reminds them to pay their monthly dues. Infact, another member of the forum here started contributing because I persistently urged her to contribute to the safety of our region by supporting the ESN vigilante. The only reason I stopped contributing was using ESN to stop elections in Biafraland. Which is TOTALLY against their one and only role of securing our forest from the rampaging herders killing farmers and raping our women. The politics of election or no election in Biafraland should be decided by our people and not anyone abusing the ESN mandate to scare our people from participating in elections if they choose to. That was an unpardonable redline that forced my withdrawal from IPOB. It underscored that some people could also abuse the ESN mandate and turn it into Boko Haram if they felt that is where their interest was. 5 Likes 2 Shares |

BKayy: In the past, one used to be saddened with stuff like this. These days, it gladdens me so much! You know, Igbos are one of the most stupidly stubborn groups in the world. So, I have seen that their nature is neither to learn from the experience of their parents nor the experience of other Igbos. For them, personal experience is the best teacher. So, let them suffer the bitter personal experience and learn the hard way. I heard some of them went back to buy lands where some of their fellow Igbos buildings were knocked down in Lagos! Okay, like the person re-selling your brother's land to you is so brain dead that he does not know you are also Igbo abi? In your mind, you are buying an Imo man's land or Anambra man's land, but you forget that the person selling the land to you sees you all as 'IBOS"! In a few years' time, when they return with bulldozers to knock down the same buildings, you will start making videos again calling on southeast governors to scold the Lagos state government not to knock down your buildings. They suddenly realize too late that they are not Imo, Anambra, or Ebonyi, that they are simply "IBOS"! You can just see that sometimes, they simply deserve the hard lessons they are taught so that they will be a little tactful in Nigeria. I love the saying below because it's precisely an accurate depiction of our people's deep sedation and lack of awareness of what "One Nigeria" is really about. 7 Likes

BKayy: I need to buy you a bottle of Hero beer! One thing about the Igbo person is that he/she desperately wants to be accepted as a "Nigerian" if there is any true word as "Nigerian". However, whether they pretend or are genuinely ignorant about what Nigeria truly is about, they will all get the same treatment by Nigeria.GUARANTEED! So it is better to understand Nigeria and act according to the realities than play ostrich all the time. Igbos are the only ones that carry the "One-Nigeria" mantra on their head like a burden that has been killing them. Nollywood practically started in Iweka road, Onitsha and Pound Road, Aba with the early movies such as living in bondage, Nneka the pretty serpent, etc. The Yorubas quickly set up their own "Nollywood" in Lagos and the north quickly set up its own version in Kano. Shockingly, the Igbos decided that they needed to "UNITE" Nollywoods and moved theirs to Lagos and started the English movies! The Yorubas used their money and Infrastructure to set up another specific Yoruba movies version in Ibadan, while Igbos were still too ashamed to continue Igbo language movies like Living in Bondage that gave them fame in the first instance! They said that they didn't want to make "Igbotic" movies. Whatever that meant. In time, those tactless Igbos seeking a "UNITED Nigerian Nollywood" have gradually learned that there is nothing "Nigerian" that can survive or have support from other tribes. It is the same thing that they did to some Igbo Musicians that thought that if they sang in Yoruba language or English, somehow those people will not remember that they are Igbo. Well, such idiocy! None of those musicians exist today. It is the artists that understood their audience and understood that in Nigeria, it is only your people that will promote you first before others will appreciate you. So they sang mostly in the Igbo language that are still around today and doing very well. All the "One Nigeria" artists that preferred singing in strange languages than their own have all been liquidated. Anywhere in the world, what I have written here will be considered extreme nationalism and distasteful. But Nigeria is not a normal place. It is a place where people ask your name and your parent's tribe before they decide if your art is good or not. Those "Lagos" Igbos and others that would like to play the ostrich and pretend that what has been said here is untrue should continue to delude themselves. From knocking down their houses and markets in Lagos to other practices they have faced, I am just glad that some of them are beginning to smell the coffee and understand the true nature of the space called Nigeria. That is just the bitter truth. They can continue to ignore it at their own peril. 13 Likes 4 Shares |

badoh: Oga, You know very well that your analysis only makes sense in an environment like America where elections are free and fair. In Nigeria, only Jonathan ever lost an election because he was too afraid of using federal might and the army to impose himself as all the others do. 2023 will not be different from 2019 or any other previous election in Nigeria for that matter. You are on a long thing thinking that PDP will defeat APC without a formidable nationally popular northern candidate that APC knows they cannot just write results and it will stand. Which Igbo politician can the entire country riot for if he is rigged out? Peter Obi or Sam Egwu? You already knew in your mind that picking a soft Igboman as the PDP candidate is the surest defeat on arrival for the PDP, and nothing can be done about that. Else, the APC federal government will call out the army on innocent protesters as they always do. 1 Like |

Hmmmmm, Edwin Clark again!!! Igbo should know that this is a TRAP! Edwin Clark is the worst Igbo hater on earth. He is angling for Tinubu in APC Vs. a silly Igbo stooge in PDP! So that Edwin Clark and treacherous men like him could play his betrayal politics to the silly naive Igbo candidate of the PDP who trusts Clark and men like him. Only APC can guarantee a southeast President now because it holds all the paraphernalia of federal authority to do it. If the PDP wants to totally lose out in 2023, it should zone its presidential ticket to the south in 2023. The ONLY chance for the PDP to regain power is to zone its presidential ticket to an acceptable northerner. An upright man who is acceptable to both the north and the south. |

IGBOSON1: I think they have already reserved the space for the hotel. If you watch the video below, at 11:50, the commissioner stated what the reserved space was for. I think they are planning a multistorey hotel. Perhaps upwards of 5 floors so that international hotel franchises will be attracted to it due to the number of rooms. I am sure they will have enough space behind the building for a swimming pool. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q_MPiXrHzZU&t=3s 4 Likes

chiefobdk2: @ bolded GBAMEST!!! A few months ago, I personally compared mktinsight's grammar and Abagworo / JohnBullMyson's style in the Imo thread. They have a deep-seated hatred for Anambra and Anambra people, but they will always claim to come from a silly location that they don't even know the LGA it belongs in Anambra. Then they try to hide their hatred by first blaming the Anambra's governor or its religious leaders or other Igbo leaders as though those are his real target. Then he will denigrate any progress or projects in Anambra by posting the picture of Paris, Washington DC, or Tokyo as what Awka should be. For example, he will prefer not to post Imo airport, but post London Heathrow airport as what Anambra airport should be. Meanwhile will not tell you that London is the capital of a superpower that colonized Nigeria. Besides, Abuja the national capital does not even come close to Aberdeen infrastructure-wise, but he demands that Awka which is a sub-national capital must look like London! In between the lines of "suggesting the "standard" Anambra must surpass", he will denigrate Anambra and her people while at the same time trying to gloss over the insults as being objective. Like saying no Anambra city has dual-carriage roads like Aba. While at the same time not mention that all the said roads in Aba are impassable swamps! While you cannot find such roads in any Anambra city! He will tell you that Kano contributes more VAT than Anambra, but will not tell you that Kano receives double of what it contributes as VAT from the federation account, but Anambra receives less than half of its so-called "little" contribution to VAT. If you take time to do the comparison, you will see exactly the same manner of expression and building fake arguments by citing only beneficial data and leaving out glaring contrary data. As if everybody here is so brain dead that they would not notice the big gap they omitted in their usual mischievous writeup. 5 Likes |

post=108545535: This is truly going to be an iconic building. I am so so worried about its maintenance after completion and commissioning unless they build the proposed 4-5star hotel in that compound quickly. So that the same gardeners and janitors of the hotel can maintain the ICC and prevent dust and cobwebs from gaining traction in any of its vast rooms. Our people are just not skilled in keeping these types of massive public facilities clean and well maintained except under some type of private sector hotel environment / management. Since we already have Golden Tulip in Anambra, perhaps they should approach the Protea group for partnership in building the hotel. Even if the state needs to fund some percentage of the construction and furnishing of the hotel so that they will reap a certain percentage of the profits too. Based on how iconic this building is, they really need to Fastrack the completion of the accompanying hotel to ensure it does not fall into disrepair before a hotel to guarantee its proper daily maintenance is built. 5 Likes 2 Shares

While I think IPOB has a good cause but DUMB strategy, Umeh is right about the Nigerian army's strategy to kill innocent people and try to blame it on IPOB. The Nigerian army has been filmed shooting 50 caliber machine guns into a heavily populated public buildings and even village homes. They have invaded and burnt homes of many people including Barrister Ejiofor's home. We have already seen the Nigerian army commit crimes against humanity in IZOMBE and AWO-MMAMA. They are not afraid of killing innocent poor civilians in the southeast for nothing. But they will all answer for crimes against humanity as these pieces of evidence as well as the names of the local commanders in charge of these operations are being collected and taken to the right court rooms globally. 25 Likes 2 Shares |

Rocksvibes234: Yes, flights have been landing and to and from Lagos and Abuja since last week. The current Airpeace 5-days schedule is: Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Saturday and Sunday. One hopes that the airport road is used to jump-start a modern business district in Anambra state. The types of buildings and hotels allowed along that road, as well as the trees, flowers, and road markings should all be done at the highest standard. Like the picture on the left. One hopes that someone in government will get around and properly mark the road for a start. Then the state ministry of lands and urban planning will mark out the plots on that road for the types of buildings and services expected on the road. Every effort must be made to prevent this road from becoming another Ziks avenue with Eke Awka type of market buildings allowed along this airport road. There are already A LOT of shady developers claiming to have land for estates and trading stores along that road! One hopes the state will jealously protect that area to help launch Anambra as a state that has modern central business district areas. 9 Likes 4 Shares
