We have been using herbs to treat viral attacks in poultry with outstanding results. Newcastle and Gumboro is a Viral attack in poultry with corresponding high mortality, but with Bitter leaves, Aloe Vera, Black pepper (Onion Seeds), Utazi seeds (Iyere) Garlic and Cayenne pepper we have been achieving astonishing results...Synthetic drugs can't solve half of what we have achieved with these herbs. Other methods of pest control

Sea Water This is one source of good fungicide and insect repellent, its two in one action, while at the same time providing the plant with added trace mineral elements.

However it may need dilution with fresh water to reduce its toxicity to plants specially those with thin leaves and sensitive tissues.

Dilution ratio is 1L of sea water to 3L of fresh water Farmers in Lagos, Rivers, Bayelsa, Ondo and Ogun state...over to you.

Explore getting many herbal extracts into your arsenal. Garlic, Ginger are better extracted without heat, You can add it to the broth as well plus some neem extracts. You can do a whole lot of combo by experimenting.

To deal with Fungi or bacteria attack increase the dosage slightly, repeating spraying every 2 days.

For comtrol of Downy mildew, powdery and all other serious fungi or bacteria attack, spray twice a week.

When there is 2 back to back rainfall, spray the next day.

This is very effective solution for all fungi and bacteria attack.

But avoid using the sulphur in excess, When too much, it stunt the growth of plants.

You can also use it in land preparation for prevention purposes, increase dosage slightly and 2 weeks before planting. You can also treat seeds with the three combo before planting.

For Prevention
In 16L of soft water (Well or rain water) add
A.1 liter of Herbal Pesticides
B. 500mls of Native Black Soap

Herbal soap. Your common Native Black Soap does the magic. Liquefy it by add hot water to dissolve and bottle it.

Recently we experimented making a more powerful liquid soap from specially treated oil soaked in garlic, anise seeds, and cinnamon using KOH. This soap serves as a powerfuf surfactant and even pesticides on its own.

If you have ever used any of the SAFER LIQUID SOAP PRODUCT BEFORE and you want something like this, or you want something on a large scale with high efficacy..we have developed a product twice as effective. If you are willing to try out our products then my phone number is on my profle below, hit me up and let's take away the pests from your farm.

Back to our topic, Surfactant allow oil to mix with water and also allows herbal extracts to stick to plants and pests. They also make nutrients readily for plants.

We wants our organic broth to kill pests, dislodge them and cure potential diseases and also serves as nutrients at the same time. We also want it to be easily absorbed by the plants. The herbal soap is your sure bet to combine with the herbal pesticides.

This plants also can be extracted. I used to mistake it for Stinging nettles but naaaa I was totally wrong.Lantana Camara They call it.

Stinging nettles also can be extracted for nutrients.

Lantana Camara gives nutrients to dying plants if you are keen to resuscitate a dying plant from the throes of death due to nutrients deficiency and pests attack.

Meanwhile, Getting your herbal pesticide ready through extracts is one step in a three system approach to pest control as said earlier.

Extracts all herbs differently and mix them in the same ratio. Ie. 1 litre to 1 liter.

To store herbal pesticides for use:

Use heat resistant bottle and pour in when fairly hot and lie them on their sides.

You can use 1L bottle for storing and maximum 5L.
Depending on herbs used, storage can stay for a year. Make sure you use at least extracts of 5 different plants.

You can do this with Several other weeds. These are the things to look out for when choosing weeds to use as pesticides.

1. If they are no evidence of pests attack on the plant's leaves. (That means some compounds in the leaves of the plant is poisonous to pests)You may want to extract it and add to your broth.

2. Aromatic, they give out some smell. (No big brother house here) Marigold is one candidate.

3. They have antibiotic values/medicinal or are know to be potent in treating some diseases in animal or plants.

4. You can also extract nutrients from some fruits of plants like Hot Pepper Cayenne Pepper or Bawa Pepper in Hausa, shombo in Yoruba, Capsicum frutescens or Ata Ijosi in Yoruba

Plants you can extract their nutrients in this manner and use as pesticides.

1. Fruits (Almond Leaves)It contains tannins that's used to lower the pH of fish ponds and are said to have antifungal and antibacterial properties, which comes in very handy when you have a fish suffering from fin rot or when you’re raising vulnerable fry. We will want to tap into this powerful properties of almonds leaves for our plants also.

2. Tobacco leave
3. Guava leave
4. Any hot pepper fruits
5. Tomato leaves etc the list os endless just look around.

I use a 9L pressure pot. Add the leaves to the brim (Stem, leaves and roots) and then add 5L of water. Cover and heat for 40minute on high heat and 20 minutes low heat.

Allow to cool down and viola your first pesticide is ready.

Agriculture / Re: Effective Organic Pesticides And Fungicides Against All Pests, Downy Mildew, E by organicfoods(m): 10:30pm On Oct 22, 2019
The mosquito plants and the Hospital too far nutrient will be extracted using the pressure pot. We need high heat to extract the nutrients.
The extraction would be done separately.

Pests don't feed on this plant at all. The good thing about this method of pests control is that it serves also as nutrients for the plants. So you are taking care of pests, fungi, bacterial, viral and nutrients at the same time.

See this one also...called "Efo Iyana Ipaja" or hospital too far. Also a good candidate for your pesticides.

You may be familiar with the attached plants. Most Fulanis plant it in their camp to repel mosquitoes. Very effective, you wonder how they manage to survive easily in the forest...well here is one of the secrets.

These weeds are planted round the camp and never will they bother themselves about mosquitoes. The picture is a screen grab of a video. Can't attach video here, but dtills you can figure it out.

You will need pressure pot as your number 1 tool to extract most of the active ingredients from the weeds (Aromatic weeds they call them)
I use pressure pot like the one shown above. A 9L pressure pot to extract nutrients from plants. Very effective.

NOTE Not all plant's nutrients can be extracted effectively using pressure pots. Plants like, Garlic, Ginger, Neem leaves active ingredients under high pressure will be rendered useless. They are better extracted cold or fermented.

Organic Pest Control
The best approach to pest control organically is to first consider the crop. I mean the targeted crop you intend to cultivate.

Certain crops are natural host for their kind of pest. This pests love to feed on this plants no matter what you do. They feed on them like their lives depend on it grin

Your target and purpose as a farmer is to prevent pests turning your farm to their home. If they are on a visit or sabbatical on your farm...very good, that means they are just paying a visit and will be leaving soon. But if they decide to make a home out of your farm, too bad.

You will need some materials to be able to produce your own pesticides. Your number materials is weeds from the environment. Yes I said weeds.

1. Most weeds that comes with some smell has the powerful ability to serve as both pesticides and fungicides, but we often overlook their usefulness. So scan around and harvest all your weeds that oozes out those smell..."Don't go near any big brother house sha grin" on a lighter note though.

It's been awhile I created a new post. So today here is a banger for you. If you have been battling pests and diseases on the farm, this is your sure banker.

Tested and trusted. The best thing about this approach is that it's something we can all do with local materials from the environment.

However we have a ready made product for this pests and diseases control solution if you don't fancy going through some of the rigors discribed here.
