While in Nigeria, you did nothing to improve your cv so blame no employers for not reaching out to you.

.

Congratulations though.
I graduated with the least of grades "PASS" from one of the federal universities, not because i was a numskull but because i did not join the band wagon of the "sorters". More so i was financially inept which resulted in missing some exams, but after 4 years the war was over. With my kind of grade the future was deem for me with no hope. I took some computer programming courses to add to my CV i thought it would be of help. Alas four years on no single interview, i was roaming the streets without hope

God finally answered my call and i travel to the united states for greener pastures, i enrolled for a six months IT course and after completion i received my first phone interview from one of the telecom company and later on skype interview. after three days i was called for a one on one interview at their corporate office. It was straight forward with three interviewers, they asked about my skills and what i could do , which i told them with great confidence. A system was brought in and i was asked to configure bla bla bla which i did. To my amazement none asked a question pertaining my degree what they where hammering on was on the job.

After completion i was given the job instantly to resume the following Monday with a well furnished office and a very good pay. Right Now i am the manager of my team of which i developed a standard software for the company that remains number one.

My point is why is Nigeria hell bent on class of degree rather what the individual has to offer. There are lots of talented 3rd class and pass job seekers out there if given a chance will perform far better. I think this is also one of the bane that is making the Nigerian economy a far cry, it hurts seeing the lower class graduates not given a chance. I weep for Nigeria. I recently sent my resume to one of the Nigerian job boards just to test if i will be contacted but no call as usual maybe because of my lower degree grin . Nigeria has a very long way to go, even the oyibos that taught us the system isn't even using it its just so annoying.

For all those with a lower degree believe in yourself, a paper should not define your worth but rather look inward and surely you will conquer.

Pardon my English and thanks for reading

I'm not sure you can change Naira to Dirhams in Nigeria.
Thanks for the response. Please what will be the best option to bring some money, Cashless Policy? Or can I bring in Naira and change it there?

Hi guys, I need advice. A friend of mine said he has a link to a dubai working visa. He said the company is a security company and that I have to pay 650k for a 3-year work visa. The contract with the company is 1 year and the pay is about 2700drm. What do you guys think about this? Is it a good deal? Should I consider taking up his offer?
I smell foul, thoo I haven't been to Dubai yet, but after reading here and inquiries, I haven't seen anyone talk about 3years working visa and also security companies won't offer u more than 2000 AED. I don't know maybe accommodation and transport isn't in your contract.
I stand to be corrected

In a similar development , I've seen someone whose employment visa comes in this format 77173566/2016/305 ,305 is not on the drnd column , and thus not confirmable on the portal, the guy is in dubai now working , that's the only thing that confirmed his visa is real
More so, calling the sponsor is also an alternative as you said , in this guy's case , his sponsor can't speak English language , all effort to confirm from him was abortive , he keep saying la la la number wrong , kalas etc lolll
What if you try using Google Translate and send them an SMS.

President Buhari has totally refused to back down when it comes to fighting corruption.

It was reported this morning that the resident of the former National Chairman of the People Democratic Party (PDP) was ransacked heavily by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), in Abuja.

It was reported by eye witness that one of Mu'azu's wife fled the vicinity in short time of the operatives getting to the location.

It's definitely or most likely the connection to the $2.1 billion arms procurement which was allegedly misappropriated and mismanaged by the former National Security Adviser, Colonel Sambo Dasuki (rtd).

The case had taken another drastic turn,as some people are bringing ideas and suggestions that it could be a political arrangement, We would inform everyone as it goes further.

The ex-PDP chair is allegedly one of those indicted in the $2.1 billion arms procurement fund mismanaged by former National Security Adviser, Colonel Sambo Dasuki (rtd). The case is getting hot

Entertainment / Sony Music Entertainment Confirms Deal With Davido, See Details Here by orlaryhincah(m): 12:12pm On Jan 28, 2016

Sony Music has taken the pressure off singer, Davido who last week went public with news of a record deal with Sony Music, with photos showing him put pen to paper leaving fans wondering why there was no official statement from the global company.

Read full press statement from Sony below;

“Sony Music Entertainment have signed accomplished musician Davido to a ground breaking global agreement. The deal was inked at the Sony Music offices in New York and will see the American-born Nigerian recording artist release his highly anticipated sophomore album later this year.”

“In Africa, Davido is a bonafide superstar. After relocating to Nigeria from the United States aged 19, Davido set up HKN records alongside his brother and independently released the first song he ever recorded entitled, ‘Back When’. The track was an instant success and propelled Davido to national stardom as he followed this with the release of his second single and pan-African smash hit, ‘Dami Duro’. This track became one of the biggest airplay records not just on radio in Nigeria but across the continent, catapulting him to superstar status and making him one of the most sought-after artists to collaborate with widening his huge fan base and media support.”

“His debut album, ‘Omo Baba Olowo’ was released in 2012 to critical acclaim earning him countless award nominations and accolades including two MTV Africa Music Awards and the 2014 BET Award for ‘Best African Act’. A world tour followed which saw Davido perform to sell-out venues across Africa,Paris, New York and London. Today, Davido enjoys a massive social media following with a combined number of over 6 million followers across all his platforms.”

“This deal represents a step forward for Sony Music Entertainment as it grows its roots in Africa. Announcing its official presence in Lagos, Nigeria verifies Sony Music Entertainment’s decision to pursue new business via the introduction of on-the-ground operating entities in an expanded number of markets in the region. The timing of the decision is based on the convergence of a number of positive indicators in Africa’s economy and positive signs in the music industry. Davido is a shining example of this.”

“Sean Watson, Managing Director, Sony Music Entertainment Africa stated, “Working with incredible talent like Davido heralds a new era for Sony Music Entertainment Africa on the continent. We couldn’t be prouder of our partnership with Davido and we are extremely keen to support his vision to succeed at the highest level in our industry.”

Adam Granite, President, Northern & Eastern Europeand Africa commented. “We are thrilled to welcome Davido into the Sony Music family. We are very much looking forward to bringing one of Africa’sbiggest stars to the world. We are also excited to partner with Kamal Ajiboye, Davido’s manager as well as Efe Ogbeni, who will be executive producing the album on our behalf.”

“Music is the universal language that unites and betters the world. It’s always been my dream to take my music and culture to all corners of the world so I’m blessed to be partnering with Sony Music Entertainment on this next chapter. My number one aim is to make my fans and Africa proud,” Davido said.

Without certifying it at UAE Embassy Abuja, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dubai won't authenticate your documents when you are in Dubai. So it's very important.
Thanks

How to look for a job in Dubai on a visit visa?
When competing with thousands of CVs in the same situation as you - what should you do
By Kokab Rahman
Published Saturday, January 23, 2016
You are in Dubai on visit, looking for work. Your visa is going to expire soon.

You’re desperate to find work before that happens.

You write in your cover letter the following statement ‘Currently in UAE on visit visa. Visa expires on X-X-2016’. Please give me any job before that,” and send it along with your CV to every job opening you see.

Will this approach help you get work fast? No. Seriously, no one cares.

Hiring managers are busy people and they only have their own organization’s concerns in mind. They don’t care that your visa is going to expire soon and then you won’t be available for interview.

Even if they are sympathetic people, remember, you aren’t alone.

They must get thousands of CVs from people who are in the same situation as you.

So what should you do?

The important thing to remember is professionalism. You should be professional in your approach. You know your visa is going to expire soon and you are desperate to find work and you want to impart this information to the hiring company.

You can do this professionally and in a manner that doesn’t show desperation. There is no need for desperation at all. After all, it’s not the end of the world. Even if you aren’t able to get work this time, you can come back another time.

You can also attend some interviews and then communicate with those companies even after you return to your home country. If they are interested in hiring you, they can easily provide you not only a visa (visit or work) but a one-way plane ticket, which they will provide if they are hiring you.

So it’s important to impress the hiring team with your professionalism and confidence, not desperation.

To make this happen, go through the job search process in a systematic manner.

Here’s how:

• Have a professional CV and cover letter prepared. This should be prepared in a responsible manner by professional writers and should not contain any grammatical or detail errors.

• Indicate in your cover letter and CV that you are available in UAE for interview up to a particular date. Your CV should also state that you are on visit visa. (Visa Status: Visit Visa, expires X-X-2016)

• Write also in your cover letter that should your departure date pass, you can be reached at your home country phone number, email, or online. All three contacts should be included in your CV and cover letter.

• After your CV and cover letters are prepared, start sending them to job openings in your profession/ industry, indicating in clear terms which job you are looking for, what salary you are expecting (which should fully cover the cost of living), and what skills you have that are relevant to the post. It’s important to do this and not send in a general letter, applying for any job. You can be more specific by applying for particular jobs and indicating how your skills meet the needs of that job.

• In addition to applying for jobs in this manner, try to go to as many walk-in interviews as possible. During any interview, tell the hiring manager that you will be in the country up till a particular date, after which you will return to your home country and that they can contact you there via phone, email, or online if they are interested in hiring you. In a professional manner, tell them that you look forward to a positive response. Don’t show any desperation. If they want to hire you, they will contact you even if you’ve returned to your country.

• After the interview, send an email to the hiring message thanking him or her for the interview. Include your contact details where you can be reached. This should consist of your home country phone number, email address, and online details.

Hopefully, using the above tips, you’ll make an impression on the hiring manager and get a job soon.

If not, all is not lost.

Continue to apply for work even after you return to your home country, indicating that you are available for an online interview. If you are scheduled to return to UAE at some future date, include this information in your cover letter.
Pls can you help me with a perfect CV format for UAE
