Politics / Re: James Ibori Arrested In Dubai by Ourturn(m): 12:30pm On May 13, 2010 |
I hate what is happening in Nigeria today? How much did Ibori steal, compared to what IBB, OBJ, Lucky, Andy Uba, etc stole, that will warrant this? I abhor corruption, but selective justice will never go unpunished, by GOD. Let there be a blanket corruption war in Nigeria. These thieves are just too much in Nigeria. Anyway, there is no point jubilating. JAMES IBORI IS OUT ON BAIL IN DUBAI. He is a free man again!. That is the latest! |

An advert on page 36, Sunday Vanguard, May 2, 2010 challenges the acting president, Goodluck Jonathan and the EFCC to investigate/charge the wife of the Governor of Bayelsa state in 2006, Mrs. Patience Jonathan. AN URGENT MEMO TO THE ‘ACTING PRESIDENT’, DR GOODLUCK JONATHAN FROM CITIZENS AGAINST CORRUPTION IN NIGERIA CC: MRS FARIDA WAZIRI, CHAIRMAN EFCC MINISTER OF JUSTICE AND ATTORNEY-GENERAL THE BRITISH HIGH COMMISSIONER IN NIGERIA TRANSPARENCY INTERNATIONAL MALLAM NUHU RIBADU MR FESTUS KEYAMO PROFESSOR WOLE SOYINKA & PASTOR BAKARE DATE: April 28, 2010. We hereby seek your urgent intervention in matters under investigation and those that we believe EFCC ought to immediately investigate as no man or woman is above the law. 1. In 2006, consequent upon a motion of urgent public importance moved by distinguished Senator Fidelis Okoro, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu as Chairman of EFCC was invited to address the Senate on issues of corruption on Wednesday 13th September, 2006. During Mallam Nuhu Ribadu’s address on the floor of the Senate, he stated and we quote “There is also a petition against the Governor’s wife alleging that she was involved in laundering the sum of one hundred and four million into fine-land account. She is also being investigated.” The wife of the Governor of Bayelsa state in 2006, Mrs. Patience Jonathan was the person Mallam Nuhu Ribadu referred to and this can be confirmed from records of the Senate. Your Excellency, we are concerned that the same Mallam Nuhu Ribadu who remains a dismissed Nigerian police officer thus ineligible for appointment in Nigerian public service is now being hailed by you is the same person who publicly indicted your wife as stated earlier yet EFCC have not made a public declaration of the outcome of the investigation. Prince Vincent Ogbulafor is currently being charged for offences allegedly committed in 2001 so the same should apply to your wife or the final report made public by EFCC. He who comes to equity must come with clean hands. 2. In response to a question during an interview with the Guardian on Sunday, February 24, 2008 as follows; “was it true that you gave Obasanjo N800,million for his campaign?”, General Danjuma replied; “No I did not give him. I helped finance his first term election. I raised $7 million. Slightly more than half of it came from my pocket. The other half came from my business associates. And this money was passed on to him through (former National Security Adviser, Gen) Aliyu Gusau”. “Aliyu Gusau came to my house here (in Lagos). Each time I carried thousands, thousands and thousands (of naira) to him in Ghana-must- go”. The claims of the Chairman of your Presidential Advisory Council (PAC), General Danjuma tha General Aliyu Gusau who is now your National Security Adviser (NSA) collected the naira equivalent of millions of dollars in Ghana-must-go bags at a time the American backed money laundering act was in place must be investigated. 3. In the same interview, General Danjuma said; “It is this same Aremu, who used to harass his perceived enemies and political opponents. He used Ribadu and some of his Ministers to pursue (former Vice President) Atiku (Abubakar). He used Ribadu and (Malam Nasir) el-Rufai and one or two of his ministers to cover his tracks in the PTDF (Petroleum Technology Development Fund). General Danjuma should be invited to provide information about the PTDF scandal. 4. All the indicted parties in the Okiro report on the Halliburton scandal must be charged to court immediately. Your Excellency, the world awaits your decisive and courageous actions. Mallam Umaru Mohammed Daura, Katsina State. http://www.elombah.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=3483:advert-challenges-jonathan-efcc-to-investigatecharge-ex-governors-wife&catid=48:world-news&Itemid=69 |
Politics / Re: Bizzare: Beggars Resist Arrest In Abuja, Attacks Security Agents & Breaks Glass by Ourturn(m): 2:36pm On May 03, 2010 |
Gasky Truth says: May 3, 2010 at 12:12 pm Most of the Beggers are from Northern Nigeria & forigners crossing into Nigeria for census advantage. They are Beggers because Northerners marry 4 to 75 wives so that they can have as many children. the more the children the more the beggers. The fuedal Northern elite & Alhajis use the biggers as money spinning machine. The beggers is an established norm & system of busiiness development for the Northern Elite Rich men. Government must start from the root of the business of putting beggers on the street to earn business money. The NASS must pass a law banning this Beggers on the street. Also making it an offence to give these beggers money on the street. Then these Beggers will disappear. gaskytruth@gmail.com I will not agree more with this comment. Northerners will never seize to be the problem plaguing this nation, though the south have theirs, but it is not as shameful as this and many others. It is a curse for any Ibo man to beg for money. You will never see it. Useless religion that allows one marry even 13 year old, even after many wives!. Their problem is just too much. |
Politics / Bizzare: Beggars Resist Arrest In Abuja, Attacks Security Agents & Breaks Glass by Ourturn(m): 2:28pm On May 03, 2010 |
Beggars resist arrest, attack security agents Latest NewsMay 3, 2010 By Henry Umoru ABUJA—IT was a theatre of the absurd, weekend, in Abuja when beggars residing in the nation’s capital city struck, attacked men of the Abuja Social Development Secretariat, Abuja Environmental Protection Board, AEPB, as well as detachment of the Nigeria Police while resisting moves to evacuate them from the streets of Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja. The event which took place in front of the National Mosque had the irate beggars numbering well over 60 mostly women, children and young boys, as well as old men with various degrees of physical disabilities. Sighting the law enforcement agents and knowing fully well that they were out for them, the beggars in defence picked up sticks, stones, clutches and cudgels and attacked the force comprising seven mobile police men and five staff of AEPB. The irate beggars, some of who were on wheel chairs and clutches overpowered the task force and smashed the windscreen, as well as side glasses of the Hiace bus with registration No Kano XA491MDB that conveyed the task force to the National Mosque for the exercise. According to the beggars, it became imperative for them to take that action because they needed to defend their rights as citizens of Nigeria, just as they claimed that they equally have the right to live anywhere in Abuja like the money bags. At the end of the fight and when they escaped being lynched by the angry beggars who rained curses on them and the FCT administration the task force officials scampered for safety to the back of Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, where they took cover. It was gathered that when the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Administration, FCTA, Senator Bala Mohammed was briefed on what happened, he was said to have given the head of the taskforce a directive to reinforce team with more policemen and carry out the exercise, just as it was also gathered that he insisted that beggars must be removed from the streets of Abuja, rehabilitated and conveyed to their states of origin. Some of the beggars who expressed their anger in Hausa admitted that they must feed and there was the need for them to come out, beg and fed for themselves when administrations after Mallam Nasir El-Rufai abandoned them, adding that during his administration they were taken to a place well built with all the facilities and he was paying them N4,000 monthly as allowance. According to them, the government was not serious with what it termed repatriation policy as they were often dropped off far the road from their destination in the name of repatriation. When contacted, the Director Finance and Administration at the Abuja Social Development Secretariat, Alhaji Garba Mohammed Dukku who described the attack on his men as unfortunate, however stressed that the intention of government was to rehabilitate them at the rehabilitate centres in Bwari, Gwagwalada and Lugbe, adding that the governments plans to remove beggars from the streets of Abuja and take them to any of the FCT’s rehabilitation centres for training as well as empower them. According to him, “We were in Kaduna and we met the Commissioner for Social Welfare to consider synergy between us and neighbouring states. It is an ongoing thing as we are going round the states to solicit their support and understanding in this direction”. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2010/05/03/beggars-resist-arrest-attack-security-agents/ |

This man has really shown that, he is a beast who deserves to dine and wine with the devil in hell. No wonder he looks like a Chimpanzee. How on earth can OBJ open his mouth and say such? The Bible school the idiot attended should withdraw his certificate, if indeed, the school, is not as corrupt as OBJ. This is the height of all comments from a Nigerian politician. Anyone, with a picture of a monkey or chimpanzee to depict OBJ? |

I have read through this thread carefully, and I will like to say this: those in support of the airport have a stronger point, because no matter what Fashola does, poverty and decay will stay remain in Lagos. He can only reduce the impact. Beggars will never seize to exist, so also unemployment, but the airport will contribute immensely to job creation, and ease mobility, which is witnessed in heavy traffic to and from the island, during works ours. I may at these point implore him to reduce concentration on the island, because very soon, it will backfire. There are lots of empty lands at Epe, Ikorodu and even Badagry. The concentration is too much. |
