The cooking gas is a natural resources that is produce here.Other countries buy from us.

False, LPG is a manufactured product and does not occur naturally
Its components propane and butane must be separated in complex gas processing plants or from very expensive oil refinery or LNG plants.

We don't supply LPG to other countries we rather import to augment out local production.

Dangote refinery will produce LPG as by products and the ongoing train 7 NLNG plant will increase domestic production but it will still be sold at market prices but will benefit from no VAT policy on locally produced LPG
Politics / Re: New Year Celebration By Nigerian Christians Unjust To Muslims --MURIC by Ovamboland(m): 6:40pm On Jan 08, 2022
Omooba77:
MURIC Director, Prof Ishaq Akintola, disclosed this in a statement on Saturday.

The Muslim Rights Concern has urged the Nigerian Government to declare the first of Muharram Hijrah, which is the first day in the Islamic calendar, as a public holiday to favour Muslims.

MURIC Director, Prof Ishaq Akintola, disclosed this in a statement on Saturday.

Prof. Ishaq Akintola, Director of MURIC

According to Akintola, the New Year celebrations according to the Gregorian calendar was “unfair, unjust and undemocratic” to Muslims in Nigeria.

He stated that if the Nigerian Government failed to properly recognise the first day of the Muslim calendar as it has recognised the Christian calendar, it should stop declaring New Year holidays.

Akintola said, “As usual, the Federal Government declared January 1, 2022, a public holiday in recognition of the first day of the Christian Gregorian calendar but because the day fell on a Saturday, FG created an alternative by declaring the following Monday a public holiday.

“This is an aberration and a gross injustice because Nigerian Muslims have been demanding the declaration of the first day of the Islamic calendar as a holiday for more than 20 years to no avail.

“It simply means that FG under President Muhammadu Buhari is also supporting the Christianisation of Nigeria. It considers the first day of the Christian calendar as sacred while the first day of the Islamic calendar is regarded as unimportant.

“MURIC frowns at this lopsided arrangement. It is unfair, unjust and undemocratic. We demand an immediate review of FG’s holiday policy.

“We demand the declaration of the first day of the Islamic calendar as a holiday to justify the 1st January holiday that is declared annually by FG. January 1 holiday is a Christian colonial creation designed to dignify and rubber-cushion the pomp and pageantry of Christmas. In the interest of peace, FG should review this Christian colonial heritage.

“Nigeria became independent 62 years ago and 62 years is long enough to right wrongs perpetrated by the British slavemasters. Democracy is fraudulent without equal participation, equal rights and justice.

"We demand parity now and only the recognition of the first day of the Islamic new year can balance the equilibrium and ensure parity, justice and fair play.

“Holidays are part of the dividends of democracy. However, the dividends must not be dished out in a selective manner."

UAE a muslim country just changed it's weekend from Friday/Saturday to Saturday/Sunday to be more in tune with international business days to increase their wealth. Meanwhile Muslims in Nigeria who need to build wealth more than Emiratis want to further isolate themselves by asking for additional days to do nothing

Retail price of a litre of carbonated drink is about 300 naira. Additional 10 naira by excuse duty will make the industry lose 40% of demand.

How many percentage loss of demand did the recent increase from 200 to 300 a liter cause? They should be deceiving us, nobody likes paying any taxes.

Go to USA and see alliance between different zones of the country, east coast, west coast, corn belt, coal region, environmental activist, arms region, irish-americans, black-american, spanish-americans, Jewish lobby, religious groups etc.

Go to UK, they have Welsh, Scottish, English, Irish alliances to win and share power.

In Germany you have Bavaria regional tendencies, Ruhr valley

Don't be deceived, every country with groups and democracy must learn to align

ScamHunter:

Read the post again. There's a reason folks like Orji Kalu and Rochas were mentioned. Make a real Igbo president and no one would dare classify the contraption as a shithole that it has been for decades. The Igbo magic touch is what you áll should beg for. Are you not tired of the mess you live in and call country? Even the whiteman likes the fact that you Africans are at the last rung of humanity ladder. I guess you do not want that to change. Have you ever wondered why Igbo are the only tribe that is confident enough to want their own country? They are both achievers and survivors. You either decide that you want to make progress by letting them bring you out of your rot or learn to live without Igbo.

You can only mention those Ibos who must not be president but have no idea or too scared to mention those Ibos you consider worthy.

That alone shows you don't know what you're talking about? Is it Anyim the sleeping Senate president that has no achievement to point for all positions he held?

Ibos don't want any Biafra, they are only gunning for the zoo presidency, as Buhari said the noise is only about looking for a better deal within Nigeria.

Judging from the trend that the PDP is gravitating towards an Igbo presidency, it is obvious that the party would be doing the right thing if that endorsement happens. APC is advised to follow suit so that both major parties would give the country a good chance at true renaissance. Nevertheless, Igbos that should be supported are those with the track record of performance, antecedence and the true Igbo spirit. There are Igbos and there are Igbos. Endorsing charlatans like Orji Uzor Kalu or Rochas is akin to endorsing a non-Igbo and other typical thieving Nigerian politicians. Igbo presidency would move Nigeria from the path of darkness to light. From retrogression to genuine progress, giving the country a place among those with purpose and direction. Let's make it happen. 60 years of moving in circles must be stopped.

Majority of Nigerians are not ready to live under the risk of an ibo president.

Just take a look at ibo states and conduct worldwide and know what to expect, clannishness, nepotism, superiority complex, criminal tendencies, security breaches

Stupid question...

Let Atiku go instead of the South West getting two terms or chances when the South East is yet to get one...

In any case, the North East, where Atiku hails from, is yet to get her turn.

As much as the Igbos want the presidency, it will not be the end of the world if Atiku becomes president when from all probability, the Igbo candidate will serve after he is through.

The Tinubu arrangement will mean that the Igbos will have to wait for another 16 years before dreaming of the presidency...

We shall not allow that to happen...

The way I see it you will need at least 32 years of calming down to be considered for the Presidency.

We could not find the counterpart funding to start these projects during oil boom when we sold oil worth over $100bn a year. Now that we hardly sell $30bn worth a year we now find the money. That's what that guy is saying.

Those Chinese loans always include a long list of consequences that kick in as a result of late or defaulted loan repayment by debtor nations. Most often China gently grabs full ownership rights to the entire project. That crafty nation recently took full ownership control over an entire international airport previously belonging to an African nation as its sole gateway to the outside world, when that nation failed to repay a Chinese "infrastructure " loan.

In former Eastern Europe, China recently took control of virtually all natural resources belonging to the tiny nation of Moldova when that country was late in refunding a highway to nowhere white elephant project loan placed in a baited trap for a previous administration to tread upon there.

This hydroelectric power dam being built in Zungeru Nigeria will soon enough belong to China when the dust settles and the multi-billion dollar loan repayment terms are not met by a new Nigerian federal government a few short years from now. China's long-term agenda is to take ownership control over all this planet's nations that are cash-poor but resource-rich.

No airport was taken over in any African nation.

Even if it happens, it was built with Chinese funds take it like a foreign investor has built the infrastructure and holds the right to concession till the loan is liquidated or paid off

NaijirianKing:
The fact is that the North is looking for fairness and balance. The NC has been left out in the cold, and rather than doubling down, the North has decided to make the NC the flagbearer, this is fair.

The southern unity is based on a farce that other parts of the south are not falling for. the SE is yet to produce a president or even a VP, and yet the SW is pushing southern unity to bring about a SW candidate and yet you are criticizing the North for pushing for a NC presidential candidate?

Where does the deception end and truth begin? People are wiser now, the North is offering the NC the Presidency and the SE the VP, who has a better deal for either zones? The SW wants the presidency at the expense of the south and that will lead to failure.

Politics is not about sentiments but offering people what is in their interest. It is not in the interest of the SE/SS for the SW to once again have the presidency after voting against the SS and trying to move in front of the SE to have the presidency twice before that region has it once. If the SW was truly for unity of the south they would line up behind the SE and push a southern candidate.

The North may be behind in certain areas, but the North understands politics and how the game is played. NC Presidency and SE VP is the winning ticket. The SW is politically on an island, not embraced by the greater south and positioning themselves against the North. You see where that will leave you.

Enough talk.

Nigeria did not start in 1999, SE has had the presidency, head of state and VP, Speaker and Senate president from 1960-83 when the SW had nothing but just one head of state in that period.

Nigerians especially people from southern Nigeria should be concerned of the agitation in the south east which is causing security challenges and with time it will spread to other part of the country if care is not taken.
The feeling that they have been marginalised and treated unequally are part of the reasons given by the youths for the on going agitation. Their percentage may be less than 5 % of the Igbos but they are convinced and determined in pursuing their course .
More than 90% of the Igbos believe in one Nigeria and willing to defend the nation but not at the altar of marginalization and killing,
