The problem is not the party, the problem is the leader.

Roads and Bridges should be the barest minimum for any decent leader.

It doesn't take much to give contracts to China.
And it is a shame on past Leaders that Buhari has best them in that regards.

The real test of governance is changing Nigeria from being the poorest country on Earth, improving living standards and taming insecurity.

Do we honestly believe buhari has the capacity to do that?

Did we have good security before Buhari? Did we not have frequent ethnic and religious riots under the past leaders with death in thousands? The only difference now is awareness level and eady delivery of news content.
Coupled with mutating insurgency, and emerging threats which are fall out of climate change, serious economic challenges mostly due to past bad choices, global recession and pandemic. Only shows our current structure and security architecture are unable to cope with the current trends.

Technically Nigeria now spends nearly $40bn..
If u convert the recent N17 trillion budget to dollar using the new I&E exchange rate (435 per dollar) u get around $39bn..

How has Nigeria spent it's $30b?

$30bn is 41cents daily for each Nigerian, about 205 naira.
Now what can you achieve with 205 naira daily?
If not much, how do you expect politician to help you spend it to deliver world class healthcare, education and infrastructure for all?

South Africa, 55 million people, annual budget - $50b

Nigeria, 200 million people, annual budget, $30b

While the money quoted up there might be much for Ghana, it's actually a chicken feed for NIGERIA.

DO WHATEVER YOU WANT WITH MY INFORMATION

South African budget is over $130bn a year, can't be $50bn

Very wrong and unprofessional report. The FG did not earn 12.4 trillion from crude oil sales. The figures bandied in this report is the gross value of crude oil sold from our daily production.

The International Oil companies will take out production cost which is about $20 per barrel out of $54 average price in January, then their finance cost, profit margin etc. The 924bn sales in January might not net the FG more than 300bn at the end.

Correct me if I am wrong, is your point that Nigeria cannot afford to provide quality basic education since our government’s revenue is so small and yet our population size is so high.

You need to understand that Nigeria is amongst the most unequal countries on Earth.

When our younger politicians like Sowore start campaigning on raising taxation on our rich to provide basic services for our masses, then we can start having hope of any form of development.

Politics around the world is focused on taxation and the use of revenues. In Nigeria it is based on pie in the sky promises of development.

Davido I just bought another house in Banana Island. How much tax is he going to pay. The vast majority of Nigerians will assume I am envying Davido, but the fact is that a lot of things that go into building a house are imported and these things put pressure on the Naira which in turn raises the price of everything from electricity to fuel for everyday Nigerians.

Should he not pay a tax since his actions indirectly affect all other Nigerians?

Good you're making the right connections from those figures. Majority of educated Nigerians still struggle with making right deductions from facts and figures. They start fighting as if that alone will change reality

And you made the right conclusions about the level of inequality in Nigeria is high because a large number of rich Nigerians who actually control 80% of the wealth by pareto principle escape tax.
You're also right many will think you are just beefing Davido. That's how our thinking is wired.

When we talk of tax majority start complaining if taxing the poor when in reality they control mere 20%..

Effective tax system will benefit the poor most as it will reduce inequality.

Do these advanced countries have higher tax to GDP rates that are progressive in nature(think Elon Musk)?
Do these advanced countries try to have free quality basic education for all their citizens as quality basic education provides workers for entrepreneurs?

Our problems are simple but because of personal greed, may not be solved for another century

Revenue of countries & Population
South Africa - $130b. 54m
Egypt. $100b. 100m
Algeria. $78b. 44m
Nigeria. $30b. 206m
USA $4,000b 320m

Look carefully at the figure and see why we are so poor. I doubt our total $30bn income can provide firefighting services alone to USA. We buy fire trucks and equipment from them. It's obvious there is no magic we can do to have firefigting services like them not to talk of police, healthcare etc .

If USA was the one having only $30bn revenue today and doing wonders or if we have $4,000bn and could not do anything with it. Note upon this huge income in USA some Americans are still homeless or lack healthcare.

Even if we have South Africa $130bn we can't find it as easy as them due to our population

This govt, starring that ol0sho finance minister is causing all-time high inflation by taxing everything, save for breathing.

People are dying due to high cost of living in Nigeria since this govt took over.

They add taxes to flour, making bread that used to be very affordable, less affordable.

They did same with cooking gas, now people are reverting to less modern ways of using fire to cook.

You subscribe data, it won't last cos everytime you turn on and off ur network, they're minusing VAT.

You receive money in ur bank account, they're minusing VAT. You send, same thing. USSD codes are no longer left out. Every single transaction you carry out, they are minusing one thing or the other

Importation fees are now so high since this maladministration began. You buy things online and by the time you want to check out...you see stupid exorbitant tax rates and shipping fees that is often times higher than the items you purchased. During the last regime, it wasn't like this.

Still, they have borrowed the most loans since almagamation. All the taxes they collect, is nowhere to be found.

This country was cvrsed with this abomination called govt.
Tufiakwa!

This one even said LPG price increase because of mere 7.5% VAT but we see prices going up 300%. Smart people know the world production cost has gone up, but dumb people must have their say.
Shippers have increased prices worldwide impacting global prices of goods, but to dumb Nigerian it's only because of local taxes.

Something that cost 100 will now cost 107:50 considering VAT but when it now cost 250 dumb will be shouting it's tax. If you stop VAT will the price go back to 100?

So, killings and Ethnic cleansing under a lopsided police and army is the best?

Under the present circumstances, 95% of the police commissioners are fulani people. The IGP is a fulani man. Over 60% of the DPO and DCO are all fulani. And the fulani is just less than 4% of Nigeria population.

When the northerners start their killing spree in the south, they always have all the police and army protection they need because their brothers will protect and urge them on. This leads to immediate casualties and arrest of anyone that is not a northerner.

There can never be enforcement of anti grazing laws in the south because the police command structure is controlled by the same fulani that owns the cows.

There is much crime in the south because Adamus and Abduls that doesn't know anything about the terrain are in control of police formations and criminals will be running amok knowing that the Adamus knows motjing about the terrain they operate. They are just bribe collecting robots intent on checkpoint profits.

State police will help the locals who are the real stakeholders to police their domain in the way they want, nobody can do anyhow because we know his address. Police brutality will be reduced to the minimum because there will not be any Northern policeman who will shoot innocent people and get an automatic transfer back to Jigawa state where he continues him crimes.

Why telling lies that police is 95% Fulani?

The same inferiority complex you carried when Obasanjo and Jonathan were president. If your perception under the duo remains till today then you should know your life will remain one of servitude and second class citizen as nothing can be done.

When Jonathan needed to harass Amaechi when he was Rivers governor he knew how to deploy the full force of the Fulani police force but forgot what to do to protect Benue and Plateau Taraba.

Let politicians and ethnic jingoist be using your head and messing up wity your mind with all these false statements

1. We already have a basic regional gas supply pipelines. Besides, it wouldn't take more than a year or two to lay gas pipelines to the site of the power stations if the government was indeed serious to solve gas shortages to power plants.

2. Nigeria isn't run in the best interest of Nigerians. This part is very self explanatory.

3. It's easier to show off rail lines than power plants whose construction will probably outlive your tenure.

The Nigerian government isn't built to serve the Nigerian people. It is simply an organised criminal agency established to embezzle petrodollars, hoodwink its citizens, take out humongous loans and pay salaries to an ineffective and bloated civil service.

You want to design and lay thousands of kilometer pipelines in a year, is this meant to be a joke or what?

Even to negotiate the financing alone will take several months or over a year. Or you think the money is spent like you take money from your wallet to pay for Ice cream.
