Good evening mamas.
Please I need input from mamas who have hired/paid help...or who knows people that do.
I have the following questions to help me make a decision on what to do.

1...What's the age range of the nanny
2..what is the pay range
3..Are they live in or non live in.
3a. If none live in, what is their work time?
3b. If live in, how many days off do they get in a Month?
4. Is their duty strictly taking care of your LO or do they do housechores too.
1.. I always like to choose women/mothers who have or have had children cos of experience since you have a baby. IMO, I think they are better off cos all these teenegers, it's either they are waiting for admission or looking for money to start a training or trade and they come with so many attitude problem you may not want to start dealing with as a new mum, but a grown woman have to take care of her family with her salary and will take it quite serious and also take care of your baby better. You may be lucky to get a lady that is dedicated, of course. In all, this depends on the said individual.

2. From 20k for a start depending on your location. But I can't imagine paying someone anything less than that especially if the person comes and goes and is a family person.

3a... I believe for live in , she's more like family and should do much from taking care of baby to cleaning the house daily, cooking her food or some foods you want her to cook, washing clothes(if you have a washing machine, then lucky her)

3.. For non live in, taking care of baby, cleaning the house. You may want to cook food and dish hers before leaving so she doesn't spend time in the kitchen and have more time for your baby. I don't just like assigning so much work to a nanny especially when baby is small and needs so much attention, cos the more work she does, maybe the less attention the baby gets. Some nannys sabi to back baby on their back and do all the work jeje. So depending on how hard working the person is or maybe if baby as baby grows or starts school, you can assign more work. She should also wash baby's cloth if you don't have a washing machine. Of course any day you wash clothes and spread, she will pack and fold the clothes.

I really can't tell for days off for live in , you have to discuss with the person and agree before hiring. Say one weekend a month should do it's even too much lol, maybe once in 2 months dats actually if the Person have close relatives around, if she have to travel long distance for the break, maybe once or twice a year(no idea infact)

Na who type all this things. ?? ??

@ozycy, the portable sewing machine is very good. Though, I bought mine on konga and it is working perfectly fine. I had to even order another one for my mum. I have not had any issue with it though I only use it for petty sewing works.
Thank you for this, I really wanted to hear from someone that uses it. Is it same type with the one in the link? Help me check, and how much did you buy yours?

Yes o, immigration in Nigeria can be funny o, I read a story like two days ago where a woman wasn't allowed to fly with her children, her own children o they said because no consent letter from husband, the narrator of the story said woman was stressed and crying and they didn't even look her face at all.

@ freshtestimony carry consent letter as suggested.
Naija immigrantion did same to me last 2yrs+ Ontop baby wey dey inside belle. They said am supposed to get consent letter from the father of the child. The man finally spoke with DH on phone before leaving us angry
No be even oyibo immigrantion go disturb you, na from Naija airport o.

I haven't seen the US pampers on shelves in Nigeria. And iv only heard people say they only use US Huggies cos SA Huggies gives rashes.
Even some of our mamas in the preggy thread then wanted to know if the Huggies gifted to them was US Huggies.... As if it made any difference.
Kikikikikikikikikikikikikikiki So if they wear der baby Huggies diaper, the baby don't need to wear a pant to cover it cos we gat to display it. (Didn't know pple use it to maintain status) tot its cos of the quality.
Baby Sophie's bum bum didn't even smell Huggies diaper lol. I used it for my first girl and even came back to Naija and was unconsciously buying , of course I used different diapers in between. #team #35 diaper molfix#

Yes i did oooo and u won't believe i paid 9k for d booster alone.
We took our measles at 9month then mmr n cp n pneumococcal at 1yr then we went back 6wks later for 2nd doze of mmr n cp
Chai, I was happy when I was told it's now free. Just that they may not have the quantity that will reach every child on immunization days so I had to go early to collect.
They have actually reduced the price of PCV to 3k just incase the govt supply doesn't reach some pple and they still want to take, they pay the 3k and take from their supply. Am just wondering why they ve been selling it all these while for almost 10k abi no be same PCV hmmm, naija

The MMR and chickenpox is 14k cc Keji3

Did you collect the pneumococca booster? It's free now. Will go and take it tomorrow. My baby's MMR and chickenpox is scheduled for month end cos I was told I have to take it one month after taking measles vaccine.
