You are the most ignorant person here.

Wole Shoyinka is a devoted Ogun worshipper.

How is an Ogun worshipper an atheist?

The problem with children like you is that anyone who is neither a Christian nor a Muslim is definitely an atheist.

Go and get a brain

Do you call christians as jesus worshipper?

Do you call muslims allah worshiper?

The correct term is Isese.

Wole Soyinka is an Onisese (believer in Isese religion).

Double standard. During his life time, he was a practicing muslim, and was even buried according to Islamic burial rites at his death. So, why clamour for traditional worshipers holiday. Some of them are only traditional rulers just for the prestige and benefits that come to the office of the occupier, and they go back to practice their religion. Can you serve two masters?

He was never buried as per islamic rites. Only morning prayers were said over his body and that too at the request of his family.

The Alaafin had explicitly said before death that his Chiefs , the Oyomessi would know what to do with his body.

Also the islam he practiced was for diplomacy and for the interests of his people. Rest he was a Sango worshipper and his marrying of 13 wives and other practices are totally unislamic.

It's really unfortunate that Arab people religion is what Blackman now sees as superior to his

Alafin was a sango worshipper and was never shy from living luxurious life while alive

So I wonder how things suddenly changed in his death

His family requested the islamic prayer.

He was later buried in the traditional religion way.

Yet they buried him as a Muslim and not a traditionalist

They didn't bury him as a Muslim. They only said islamic prayers over his body upon the request of his family.

He was buried as a Yoruba at night .

Infact its not even confirmed if he's still been buried because the Isese death rituals for the Emperor are already on their 3rd day and still ongoing.

So, saying that our royal king bleached his skin (like MJ) is now a personal attack? So, you think it's okay for our 1st class trying to denounce his heritage by bleaching his skin. And what sort of message, is he inadvertently communicating to his subjects?

When did he speaks up for his people-yorubas? Was it when the fulanis ransacked Igangan simply 'cause Igboho sent the Seriki of Igangan packing ( if he failed to fish out those fulani who killed Dr. Aborede)?

Did the Alafin speak up when fulanis invaded Yewa community and sent the indigenes into IDP camp in Benin. They are still languishing in Benin Republic over a year later whilst many lost their lives.

Wetin koncern me with his wives? Melo lafe do lo 'bo, ta ni ki ile, ma mo?

What is heritage about skin color? We are not African Americans to be obsessed about skin.

He was living the Yoruba heritage and he fought for it till the very end. You who speak about heritage, if you can even live upto or contribute to 1/100th of what he has done, then it will be a great thing.

The Alaafin has always supported Igboho and like a true leader he has been diplomatic outwardly to maintain the balance of power with the centre and the states.

The Alaafin has time and again spoken on the Fulani menace . To say he kept quiet is gross injustice.

This is not the Empire of Oyo. This is the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The Alaafins duty of office is to preserve the tradition, religion, and culture of his realm. Which he has fulfilled to excellence.

Speaking over the woes of the public is the duty of the state politicians. You should've directed these questions at the politicians in power. Not the Alaafin who has been a good intermediator throughout for the greater good of the Yoruba race.

This was the last deed the Alaafin wanted to do before he died.

The Alaafin recognized that

Nigeria's good future lies in the Traditional Religion of our ancestors.

His Excellency,
Engr. Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde
The Executive Governor of Oyo State,
Governor's Office, State Secretariat,
Ibadan

REMINDER FOR EXECUTIVE APPROVAL OF PUBLIC HOLIDAY FOR TRADITIONAL RELIGION

1. Kindly accept my royal pleasantry and best wishes Your Excellency. I wish to respectfully draw Your Excellency's attention to our traditional religion, which is part of our heritage and needs to be preserved. It is today widely accepted and practiced in other parts of the world, especially in the African Diaspora.

2. It is crystal clear that since the inception of this administration, peace and tranquility had been reigning and it is only in an atmosphere of peace and unity that development and progress can thrive. However the recognition given to Christianity and Islam is physically pronounced with the declaration of a particular day or date for the observance of a festival day for the adherents of these two religions.

3. Subsequently a declaration of a specific date / day (20th August) for the observance of our Traditional Religion as "TRADITIONAL RELIGION DAY" just like Easter, Christmas, Idel Fitiri and Idel Kabir.

4. Pursuant to the above I wish to request that Your Excellency to show commitment for this project of continuity of peace and unity through endorsement of initiatives to move Oyo State up in the global cultural index scale by recognizing Traditional Religion and declaring August 20 of every year a public holiday as "TRADITIONAL RELIGION DAY".

6. Kindly consider these propositions as appropriate steps in our collective efforts to re-invent Oyo State.

7. Please accept the assurance of highest regards from Royal Stool.

Is it intentional or he did it out of ignorance?

It was intentional. Every Yoruba knows what Esu is.

do you think I care if traditionalists buried him?. I only wanted to verify his true religion.

So based on what I have been reading, it is clear to me that oba Lamidi was a mushrik. He was not Muslim. However, his janaza prayer by Muslims is evidently a sign that isese will significantly reduce. This is the first time ever in history that Alafin funeral performed by Muslims. But unfortunately, alfas that performed Salat janaza will have to answer to God because it is not permissible to perform Islamic prayer on nonmuslims.

Maybe Alafin religion was not clear to the imam that prayed on his body. He might based his judgement on what is apparent. What was apparent was his prayed Muslim prayers in public. I think that was the evidence used by the Imam. Anyways, it is wrong.

Yes brother. Everyday we are reverting many so called muslims back to Ifa.

Both the foreign evil cults of christianity and islam will implode and die a natural death in Nigeria soon.

When the Alaafin (Emperor of Oyo) supported Yoruba Animist Traditional Religion Isese

The first Yoruba bible translated by Bishop Ajayi Crowther substituted the important Yoruba Trixter Spirit (God) of Esu as Satan.

The Yoruba Bible with the same translation of Esu is widely in circulation today.

Our Alaafin came forth to clear this misconception.

To stop the colonial demonization of Yorubal Indigenous Faith.

This is my reaction to the passing on of a great King who openly supported our movement, "ÈṢÙ IS NOT SATAN", His Imperial Majesty, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, the Aláàfin of Ọ̀yọ́.

ỌBÁ JU ỌBA LỌ, SOME KINGS ARE MORE POWERFUL THAN SOME KINGS.

When Aláàfin of Ọ̀yọ́ speaks, people must listen. While some Obas( you know them) are using derogatory words to describe our divinities, the Great Aláàfin proclaimed, "ÈṢÙ IS NOT SATAN". May his gentle soul continue to rest well with the Ancestors.

How can Ìṣẹ̀ṣe win this war against those who want to destroy our cherished Yoruba heritage?

Though things were not perfect with the burial of Aláàfin of Ọ̀yọ́ but we still thank the Ìṣẹ̀ṣe Practitioners who performed necessary rites.

That's not true. It's either the Islamic cleric prayed on an effigy as claimed or the traditionalists retrieved the body after the prayer. The Imam cannot enter Baara where all Alaafin are buried. Besides, Alaafin is not a small king that would be buried without all necessary traditional rites. I learnt they have commenced curfew in Oyo already self.

Effigy or body, i have posted the video of the effigy/body being retrieved by Isese youths post the islamic prayer.

I have also posted a video of the real body being taken to Barra in the last link escorted by Oyo branch Onisese.

I posted the videos of them taking away the coffin.

If he was buried after janazah, why would they wait till night time/early dawn? Islam dictates immediate burial after janazah.

Also the video proof of Sango's youth carrying the body after the islamic rite into the palace is there for you to see.

A lie is being propagated that the Alaafin was given an islamic burial. The burial was completely Traditional and done at nighttime.

All that the islamic clerics did was to pray over the body in the morning. They were not given custody of the body of the Alaafin by the Sango-Oranmiyan believers.

Culture / Alaafin Oyo Given Traditional ISESE Yoruba Burial, Not Islamic [Videos] by PAGAN9JA(m): 2:21pm On Apr 24, 2022
The Alaafin of Oyo Empire, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III's body was taken over by Sango believers of the Isese Faith after Islamic prayers were performed in the morning.

(As per inside sources, the body used in the Islamic prayers was an effigy. This is not confirmed.)

The "Body" of the Alaafin was then taken inside the palace by Traditionalist youth and covered with a traditional Green cloth to mask the white islamic wrappings. The Traditionalists then formed a circle around the body.

They later asked mourners and journalists, to leave the hall. As the remains were carried, the devotees chanted dirges and eulogies of Orisa Sango, whom an Alaafin embodies, according to Yoruba Religion.

Traditional prayers, rituals, and sacrifices were held at night by adherents of the Yoruba Traditional Religion (Isese).

The body was subsequently escorted by the Onisese to an undisclosed location for burial.

The Alaafin was a staunch adherent of the Lord Sango and attended the Sango festival year on year.

Kabiyesi has become Ebora now having joined the pantheon in the Spirit world.

May the Orisa (Gods) welcome Kabiyesi in their arms. Ase Eledumare!
