The reality is you should still take the SAT because when you get to school you will still be required to take a state based exam, for them to know you have the adequate skills or knowledge to be in college. You might have to take developmental classes and pay extra cash for no reason if you do not pass the exam. So the SAT would ease you from writing those exams, putting you in the place of college level or higher. For example math; when you have an SAT score that is high enough, you skip two or three math classes, and puts you in Calculus 1 straight up (But when you fail to take the SAT and you do not pass the state based exam for UG, you will have to start from the lowest form of math class).
It is also good for the embassy, if you want to be portrayed as a potential student, take at least one standardized test. It would increase your chances of getting a visa
okay thanks ,so the Sat or the Toefl which one should I take ?

That is an email message from Ball state university admission department, does that really mean I shouldn't take SAT and TOEFL , and hope it will not be a problem at the embassy for not taking any of the test. CUs the should waive Toefl for Nigeria student, Nigeria been a English speaking country and the school does require SAT from international student. So regular admission is guarantee to Nigeria student not conditional one CUs they found Nigeria a English proficiency country and been part of the country the school waive Toefl 2, pls house which advice can u give ? I hope if I dont take the test it will not b a problem at the embassy.

The SAT would be more useful as many scholarships are based on SAT scores. No real need to take the TOEFL though if it has been waived for this particular program.
Thanks she will be taking SAT then even though the school doesn't really require it.

It may help with other schools and it shows the visa officer that she is serious.
So not compulsory but still a good idea if she can get a good score and money is not too tight.
Thanks for the info, the test will help her against other schools and did u mean if she take up the TOEFL waive admission it will not CUs a problem at the embassy

Hello house ,my sis is applying to BALL STATE UNIVERSITY for undergraduate degree in business admin, We email the admission department and was told Toefl test will be waive for her since she is a Nigerian student,Nigeria been a English speaking county and part of the list of countries the school waive Toefl for, so I want the house to advice me does she still need to take SAT or the Toefl test cus of other school she is applying to, but the Ball state uni is her favourite and if she take up the ball state uni with Toefl been waive and not taking SAT is it going to CUs a problem at the Embassy, or causing a visa delay ...

Ta! I no be small boy for here. angry If you keep hiding facts, how would you be on the right path as you mentioned? Let me break your heart a little, if they discovered he's your father and had already overstayed and you're going to the same state as him, bearing his last name, having the same Nigerian address, shared many things in common with him (such as he had mentioned you when he was applying for his visa), you'll jeopardize your chance of getting the visa even if your mother is your sponsor.
I wonder how people jump into conclusion,Because I asked a question does that mean the question refers to me .just trying to b of help to a friend here .

Just think clearly.
If you fail TOEFL at home then you have only lost the cost of the exam, and can try again.
If you fail the schools test they will want you to do and pay for remedial school.
So you will be paying for extra school, along with extra accommodation feeding Etc.

Do you have all that extra money available, only you can answer that.
Thanks for the information , then i will write the Tofel exam , but do u think is necessary I write SAT... But wat if I take up the conditional Admission is that gonna be a problem at the embassy.
