Super correct. You nailed it totally. If we are going to move forward collectively we mustquit playing by the rules and political tags (more like leashes) tied to us by Nigeria. Enough of rhetorics like "ndi-abia" or "ndi-anambra" or "ndi enugu" and ndi-whatnot. Time to legitimize ndi'igbo and shun the silly political divisions/tags that have been used to keep us in check for 50 years. cheruv: 3 Likes |

WOW. So impressive! I actualky saw it coming! Keep it coming sir! *Edit ___________________ For all those snowflakes messing on my mention, please keep off my mention for crying out loud. - Apple - HP - Dell - and a plethora of other topnotch American brands manufacture ALL their product lines in China. Majority of the existing private manufacturing companies in Nigeria currently are owned by Asians. So, what exactly is your problem? There's no way you can compete globally with the current starndard of Aba made products. Plus, it will take a massive amount of capital to up the starndard and open up the global export market for Aba made shoes - that's in terms of marketing and logistics, plus design and manufacturing. So why waste time in mediocrity when a global brand is willing to put their money where your mouth is? Truth is, once this industrial city takes off, the chinese owned factory won't be able to meet up wirh the export demand. But they will successfully open up the GLOBAL export market for many 100% Aba shoe makers while upping their design and finishing game. In that way, all round global excellence will be entrenched in the entire system rather than celeberating regional championship. And those who are castigating this move should tell us why a foreign automaker is prefered for lagos modern shuttle buses rather than those made by Innoson motors? FYI, OVI is about opening up a bunch of foreign markets for his enterprising people. A bunch of foreign markets that will totally do without Nigeria. How many of you who run your mouths here can boldly flaunt your Aba made shoes? 83 Likes 6 Shares |

So what do you think is the reason I could not see a single Igbo identity in the Lagos @50 success story billboards? Or are you saying that faces of folks like Linda Ikeji and Cosmas Maduka who started from scratch in lagos and got to the point where they are now heavily invested in the state are less qualified to adorn those billboards than, say, Olajumoke, for example? Is that glaring omission due to politics too, or pure tribal hatred? ladiguy: 6 Likes |
Politics / Re: To All Igbos, Igbos, ipods, ibos (afonja Luvs U All) by pchukwudi: 8:18pm On Apr 14, 2017 |
Igbophobic rhetorics and behaviours did not start today. The only thing that's happening now is that Igbo's are no longer keeping quite when your people pour out hate on them. Although I do not personally endorse hate for hate, but fact is that some folks from igbo extraction have started retaliating in kind (often in multiple folds). Unfortunately your people enjoy dishing it out but hate taking it in. A historical search on nairaland will show you that this stuff did not start today. It actually was there BEFORE the birth of Kanu. So the Kanu factor was only the result triggered by decades of institutionalized anti-igbo sentiments and rhetorics. jollymizzle: 7 Likes |

That's the problem. You are quicker to defend the OP than READ the darn thread. The OP was not sorry about the genocide. He justified it. His brethren (both in this thread and elsewhere) hate and mock igbos for their innate drive to create wealth. But they forget that these are poeple who were singled out and were COLLECTIVELY defranchized both economically and institutionally just a few decades ago, by the monetery and economic policies of the same Pa Awo whom they love to adore. So I don't really get what your point is NwaforIgbo: 6 Likes |

CC: jollymizzle You see, dung like the one coming from the personified failure below is the exact reason Nnamdi Kanu thrives. It's good that you are getting the point. Thing is, folks like Kanu are REACTING to silly anti-igbo rhetorics (like yours as bolded below) which seem to have been embeded on the genetic fabrics of many Nigerians. And until you folks stop the dumb igbophobic rants and behavior you will have to keep contending with more and more Kanus. Finally, claiming that no igbo leader has ever condenmed Kanu is just a hairy BIG FAT lie. Do you even know why Okorocha was attacked in london? In fact an igbo DG in one of the agencies is a vocal critic of Kanu. He even critisized him last week. What of the spokesman of Lagos APC? You talk like someone who is oblivious of the media trend. jollymizzle: 3 Likes |

You are talking arrant nonsense. No Eze or Obi in igbo land will ever threaten anyone (be it the housa or yoruba community) to vote the obi's or eze's or council of elders's choice of candidate. Get that into your head. And here's something else: 1. Your oba's threat of mass murder WAS NOT AS A RESULT OF ANY OPEN DEFIANCE. The man simply woke up from the wrong side of his bed, summoned Igbo leaders in lagos and issued a baseless threat. So quit twisting the history. 2. Ambode's opponent was not an Igbo man. Jimmy was as Yoruba as Ambode. So the threat has nothing to do with culture or ethnic political preservation. It was purely an abuse of authority which was driven by personal selfishness and fear. And few sane yoruba people did condemn the oba's behavior. kingsouthie: 8 Likes |

1) Change your fake monica to reflect your yoruba identity, since you think that yoruba is better than igbo. 2) There is nowhere in Nigeria where Igbos have ever moved against the CULTURE of their host community. 3) It's the RIGHT (and constitutionally so) of any igbo man to vote WHOMSOEVER he likes WHEREEVER he lives as far as one Nigeria remains. 4) Your Oba's hate and aim to dictate who the igbos should vote for in lagos was not only foolish, but grossly illegal. 5) It's sheer ignorance that makes you think that the ENTERPRISING Igbos migrate to other parts of the world to seek refuge. chibuzorAbia: 12 Likes 1 Share |

No, that's not a common reaction in the South East. Otherwise someone like Ojukwu would not lose any election in the region - but he did. Why? Because no single individual ever has the right or power to DICTATE actions to people. Even sitting governors have been resisted by the people in the south east let alone a traditional ruler. Fact is, you simply CANNOT comprehend what I'm saying here. Why? Because the concepts of individualism and democracy are totally alien in your culture. kingsouthie: 11 Likes |

You perfectly captured one of the inreconcilable differences between the igbo and yoruba cultures. For example, you're quick to justify your Oba's hate speech; and insist that it was right to threaten Igbos with mass murder if they ever refuse to be deprived of their political franchise and constitutional rights to vote whomsoever they wish to be the governor (by their individual convictions) simply because they reside in Lagos. But you missed one thing: "Igbo ama eze", Igbo ama eze loosly means that no one dictates to an average igbo man what to do. And that's not "an insult" to anyone as you taged it... It's simply a CULTURAL thing... It's in them... Igbo MEN do not bend down to salute their rulers or elders. To you that may be an insult, but to igbos it's a normal culture of individuality and personal assertiveness. Paherps this is another cultural reason you should conceed to those who insist that they want out. kingsouthie: 13 Likes |

That's the problem you guys have. You look for peace at the expense of justice. Any wonder why, inspite of all the propaganda, lies, politicking and political correctness, the peace you so covet has remained elusive to you more than 50 years now?. The earlier you folks realize that having a lasting peace in this country will not be possible without justice, equity and truth, the better for everyone. And you cannot claim to want peace now when you actively and PRESENTLY justify the past evils perpetuated by your ancestors. Wherever there WAS opression, there cannot be peace without repentance (sometimes followed by restitution). But in the case of OP, not only was he not repentant, he IS actually justifying the evils and opporession that were carried out by his ancestors . Why? Probably because if given another opportunity, he will not hesitate to repeat the same scenario. So, as I mentioned earlier, there's a huge difference between forgiveness and forgetfulness. You have no idea what you are talking about. Infastructure is critical, but first go and find out how many chinese owned manufacturing plants we have in this country. Maybe then you may begin to comprehend and appreciate a bit of what the man is doing. China has billions of untapped dollars in the cooler for foreign investments. And Africa is their most viable and politically friendly investment destination. So Mr. Okezie's move is not just smart, it's super proactive. And, yes, taking bottles of clean, clear and cold spring water to folks in the river bank, is a basic distiguishing characteristic of the average Igbo man. Go figure. Mrjo: 5 Likes 1 Share |

How exactly do you forgive an arrogant and grossly ignorant child who continues to justify the sin of his father?
Here's the clown justifying the same sadistic man who did not only impose a wicked and illegal policy that starved millions of Biafran women and children to death but also actively sabotaged the AU peace process that was initiated by Zik. A process which Ojukwu was fully compiant to. So, Mr. naevity, those who neglect their history are likely to have their future destroyed by their past. And I think you are d$#3@&" for calling out the Igbos. The reality is that the Igbos are the most forgiving group in this country. They may not forget, but they easily forgive. Otherwise, can you tell me any other ethnic group that integrates with all parts of this nation the way the Igbos have been doing for decades? Mind you, this is in spite of the brutal genocide and many institutionalized injustice they've suffered and continue to suffer in the country. Thus, if truly you are Igbo, I sincerely implore you to wake up before you totally lose it. vani86: 25 Likes 2 Shares |
