I think they are more focused on their Arabization policies. The funny thing is that most Sudanese are black, a lot are even darker than most East and West Africans. There are 110 languages spoken in Sudan, but Arabic and English are the official with Arabic being widely spoken. Ironically Sudanese Arabs in Middle Eastern countries like Israel face racism for being dark-skinned while non-Arabs in Sudan also face discrimination by Sudanese Arabs. I think more open minded Sudanese Arabs tend to acknowledge their diverse ancestry or history more. Africa was never the Arab homeland, Arabs were from the Arabian peninsular, so any Arab from Africa is either a product of Arabization and or mixed.

South Sudanese are very dark, its their characteristic. And they can be very tall. n the case of some Sudanese tribes, males can have an average height of 1.9 m (6 ft, 4in) (!), while women of 1.8 m (6 ft) (!). These people have slim but strong bodies, and their heads are more elongated than in the case of the typical African Blacks. Not all are tall though but averagely they are very tall. The most famous group and more racially preserved of the Sudanese race are the Nilotic tribes (they all originated on the Upper Nile area). The most famous are Maasai(Kenya), Turkana(Kenya), Samburu(Kenya) and Dinka(South Sudan), whose main occupation is animal husbandry. Ancient (and modern) Nubians, the Black Pharaohs, were also of Sudanese race. When the French met this race of giants (in Chad tribes), they called them "the beautiful race".
