This has to be the most enlightening thread on AIRBAG repairs.

Piyke, please I have AIRBAG lights showing on my dashboard cluster in my Honda Civic 09.
It was accidented too upon purchase as tokunbo and the light has been there since I got it.

Please I need your inputs on how I can restore the airbags to factory settings.

Thanks

Thanks. First thing is to scan the car with a scanner that has SRS access. This will detail the repairs to be done.

Yours is mostly a valve adjustment, that adjust itself, I guess your car was a Toyota.. But Honda valve clearance needs to be manually adjusted

Not correct. Car is a Honda.

Well done boss. I don't have a shop o.

I remember having this same exact experience. Mine even went north of -19LTFT and tripped the P0172. There's no troubleshooting I didn't do: checked fuel pressure, examined injectors for leaks, etc. That was when I bought a compression gauge. Only to change where I bought petrol from, and voila, the thing started coming down on its own and the code left.
Our fuel here is legendary o. In the meanwhile, I suggest you change where you buy fuel from, and let's see.

It's funny you took this pic! I took one earlier today without even seeing yours.
My trip A came with almost 4k miles from the previous owner, and I decided to wipe it this week. I felt the 4k miles was affecting my average mpg. 100miles in, I'm getting 32mpg.

ECON when I'm cruising or in traffic. No ECON when I need to accelerate or just need the extra oomph.

Thanks.

Funny enough, I got this same number from their outlet opposite the Mabushi ultramodern market when I wanted to pick up Mannol coolant and it wasn't in stock.

I learnt about the business through their website whilst searching for a Mannol distributor in Abuja.

https://www.sylvaconintegratedservices.com/

Thanks. Didn't even know they had a website. Although it seems they haven't renewed their hosting. Its currently down.

Car Talk / Having Any or all Of These On A 2016+ Honda? Solved by Piyke: 7:33pm On Sep 12, 2021
I was having these 4 symptoms combined.
While some may occur individually, combined means something.

Here's the tetrad:

- No remote start
- Answer back not working
- Car locks but lights don't flash. They only flash when you unlock the doors
- Anti theft light doesn't blink...

Can happen on Honda with remote start (2016 and up)

I believe the company is responsible for the Mannol range of products as well.

Please share plaza name and number or contact details. Thanks

Mate, so sorry for the belated response. Started a response way back and thought I hit send.

Yea. Their lubricants section does mannol. It's the OTO shopping mall. Gudu parts(2nd plaza on the left when entering from Oladipo Diya Road). Ask for Ifeanyi. He is the only distributor for SCT and Mannol lubricants there. I'm just seeking his permission to post his contact on the net. If he declines, I can can send to you by pm.
Car Talk / Re: Recommended Refrigerant Oil by Piyke: 10:14pm On Sep 08, 2021
adanny01:
So am about to change some A/C parts in my car. I got the oil recommendation from the service manual shown below.

From the recommendation and the parts i am changing, a total of 70ml is what is recommended to be added for

Condenser 25ml
Dryer 25ml
Line 10ml
Leakage 10ml.

My leak is on the discharge pipe from compressor to condenser. I recently started to notice oil on the pipe and had been losing gas. The last recharge didn't last a week and the pipe is completely wet will oil.

I am just a little scared knowing that too little oil risk the compressor seizing up while too much oil reduces cooling.

I am tempted to put 50 or 60ml instead of the 70ml. What do you think? In fact, i want to settle for 55ml. Neither full nor short.

Leak - 25mls.
Dryer 10mls
Personally, will put the total as recommended.

Car Talk / Re: My Funny Experience With Bluish Exhaust Smoke by Piyke: 6:53pm On Sep 07, 2021
I am still on the tank of Gumout fuel, but the smoke has now totally stopped. The smell is gone too.

It's said that the smoke shows the product is working grin

I forgot to mention that the water that usually drips from the exhaust now turned black.
This is explained by the carbon being cleared from the engine.

The water is no longer black too
Car Talk / Re: My Funny Experience With Bluish Exhaust Smoke by Piyke: 6:48pm On Sep 07, 2021
The culprit... Google is your friend

I took to the Web. Turns out that certain fuel system cleaners can cause bluish/greyish smoke as well as strong odours when used. Especially in the morning.

It was then it clicked. I added the Gumout product below to my tank some days earlier...

The product has Gumout's CarbonClear proprietary tech which has PEA as well as 2 other cleaning agents.

I checked the dipstick, it was low. However, I was parked on an incline, so measurement won't be accurate anyway. Also, I didn't have a CEL. On this Honda, you should get a CEL from oil starvation of the VTEC solenoid when the oil goes low.

It was the suddenness that baffled me the most. Could the engine actually be worn? Maybe I've been puffing bluish smoke gently without noticing?
Car Talk / Re: My Funny Experience With Bluish Exhaust Smoke by Piyke: 6:33pm On Sep 07, 2021
I know I have an oil leak from the mating area of the oil pan. Could the oil have gone so low that the engine wore?
A family member had been using the car for the prior 4 days. I began to run permutations...
Car Talk / Re: My Funny Experience With Bluish Exhaust Smoke by Piyke: 6:30pm On Sep 07, 2021
It was a sad discovery.

The smoke ranged greyish to bluish while I had my foot on the gas. When I let off, it became an effortless plume of bluish smoke with the horrible smell.

I was numb. When, how, from where?
Car Talk / Re: My Funny Experience With Bluish Exhaust Smoke by Piyke: 6:21pm On Sep 07, 2021
I woke and started the Accord. Got out of the car to round up a few things. When I got back, there was an offensive odour from the tail pipe. I couldn't also tell if what looked like steam from the exhaust was mixed with greish smoke.

I decided to give it a little gas...to confirm.

Pls how much does it cost to get a clean tokunbo accord btw (2017 to 2010) in your location and also cost of shipping same.

With the latest dollar jangolova, I don't even know. Dollar was 470 when I bought, just checked and its 532 for today.
I guess you can check jiji for rough estimates and possibly check out car stands near you.

Shipping depends. RoRo should be about $1000 - $1500. Those that ship regularly can update.
