Religion / Re: Rightly Interpreting The Bible And Avoiding Heresies by PMIcon(m): 12:03am On Oct 31, 2015
THE BIBLE AS A WHOLE DIRECTS YOU TO SEE ONE PERSON: JESUS the Christ

Jesus Christ is the complete revelation of God to humans about God and humans. As a whole, the concept of the scripture is to reveal Jesus. Jesus Christ himself had to tell the religious leaders of his days in the world that, "you search the scriptures daily to gain eternal life yet these things are written about me."(Paraphrased)

When you pick the Bible to read, God wants you to see who Jesus is, what he does, what he will not do, his assignment on earth and presently in heaven, his nature and his heart.

The Holy Spirit is the one that reveals and rightly interprets the scripture to us. Without him we won't get the truth out of the Bible But it is not his responsibility to make you know Moses or Elijah or David or Apostle Paul. Jesus said when the Holy Spirit comes (and he has come) he will speak of him(Jesus).
If you are seeing Moses as your pattern and mentor or seeing Apostle Paul or Peter, you have missed the essence of their story being told. Even Paul the Apostle said, "Follow me AS I FOLLOW CHRIST." So when you read about anybody, look for Jesus in them AND recognize what IS NOT Jesus in them and in whatever they say. You should learn from the success as well as the failure of others. Jesus is the standard. Not what you think about Jesus- how he should be in your own view- but what the Holy Spirit reveals to you from the scripture about Jesus is the standard.

THE BIBLE IS LIBRARY NOT JUST A BOOK

My first point is that the Bible is not a single book.

The Bible is a library of books written over a wide duration of time and covers events and topics/issues of different types that span from eternity past to eternity to come as well as from one covenant relationship of God with humans to another.

This makes context and culture very important in helping your mind easily grasp what God's Spirit is revealing to your own spirit. Your spirit grasps the truth but your mind can get you confused because you are trying to interpret, for example, a statement in the old testament part of the Bible to mean the same in the new testament. This may not necessarily be so. The death and resurrection of Jesus Christ changed everything and we will talk about some as we go on.

This will also help you appreciate the divine wisdom displayed in the gradual unfolding of revelations. For example, the Word that created the world in Genesis became the Word that came into the world in the gospel and then the Word that will judge the world in the book of revelation. That brings me to the second point.

Please understand that we have different audience here so don't count any point as too obvious and unnecessary.
Experience has shown me that nothing is unnecessarily, people are from different background and you may be surprised sometimes by the view of others because of what they've been exposed to all their life.

They've heard the wrong things while growing up so many times and from people they respect that they've been convinced those things are true. In fact, they think those wrong believes are what everybody believes until someone show them something else from the scriptures.

You may be among those I'm talking about. It requires humility to hear from the Holy Spirit when He is talking to you through someone else. So as we go keep a humble heart. I too am open to contributions but not arguments. We are not here to proof we know something but to grow in grace through the knowledge of God

House-Era.com is a new Forum founded by a social entrepreneur who is committed to empowering members as the website grows.

Some members who display skillfulness in content-sourcing and writing and provide original stories, for example under Talents & Photo Gallery category (Literature section) can be employed and/ or get their write-ups published.
While the core purpose of the site is to provide a platform where people can share neutral information on rented houses through reviews, the website presents great opportunities for active members in nearest future.

20% of income generated will be invested in selected active members monthly. This could mean sponsorships, monthly allowances, family health insurance packages for selected active members.

All you need to do is visit House-Era.com, register and start posting valuable contents. Once the website starts generating a steady targeted income, selected members with observed skillfulness and commitment will start enjoying regular income.
Don't even think this is a scam. The owner of the website is a committed social entrepreneur and values other people's contributions.

i just visited ur site and i saw ur idea but i want in your own words(cos every investor would ask you this)

1. In a sentence, what does your business do
2. What problem is it going to solve in the society
3. How is it going to make money
4. If you have competitors, what would your business do that they are not currently doing that would give you an advantage. In other words are you an innovator or copycat

Keep the flag flying

OP thanks.

1. House-Era.com is a members-driven information sharing online community.

2. Problems to solve:

a. Information

b. Emotional stress

c. Joblessness

3. Featured advertisement, subscription for premium privileges, product sales

4. House-Era.com is an innovation (as you might have read from the description above). It is a people-centred, social solution.
There are some information I won't want to make public yet anyway.
I'll just add that we have observed why people break rules in a platform like Nairaland e.g. advertising in popular posts and decided that it makes business sense to advertise in popular posts, that is why they do so. So we have created a controlled environment for this to occur instead of banning it.
As people use the website, they will discover more about the creativity that went into the development of House-Era
Business / Re: Internet Startup Thread by PMIcon(m): 3:21pm On Oct 22, 2015
Op thank for this post. I tried something like this too but didn't get a lot of views or reasonable comment

I'm supporting you anyway.

I joined the social entrepreneur train this month. My vision is to create a platform for information sharing, community support, and especially to bring change to the real estate industry one step at a time.

Active members of my website will greatly benefit from their activities. When we reach a steady monthly revenue of N2,000,000 from adverts, my company is going to selectively employ those who show good original content sourcing and writing skills.
We will consider early members first though

20% of the income on the site will be invested in selected active members- staffs and non- staff monthly. That will mean investing N40,000,000 on active members and especially the staff when we reach 200,000,000 revenue generation. Apart from this, members will get more supports and be presented with various opportunities regularly. I consider it unfair for people to contribute content to a website and not have rewards to look forward to.
I am budgeting another 10% of revenue for external projects like taking care of the elderly as well as funding research.

We only need members who a committed to writing useful, informative and entertaining contents in the Forum.

www.House-Era.com is the website.
When you write a content on House-Era, you can share it on Facebook, Google plus, Linked In.
You can upload pictures, Power Point and other MS files, Video and Audio files etc.

The forum has boards like
• Review Rented House
• Business Stand (for free business/organization publicity)
• Education (for academics and skills training)
• Chat Rooms etc

Each member also have Walls and can make wall posts. Just clicking on a member's name will take one to the wall.
Plus you can chat with the OP or send a mail (members have inboxes). Fun to use. tongueRegistration is however required to see many of the features.

Oh! I forgot to mention that when you write a post on www.House-Era.com you can preview exactly how it will look AND make corrections at the same time before finally posting it!

I think your wish for a new generation Nairaland is already here! But I am trying to add value to society not to compete with Seun Osewa.

I'll appreciate your feedback when you check www.House-Era.com

Business / Clear Steps On Owning A Community Pharmacy In Nigeria by PMIcon(m): 7:35am On Oct 19, 2015
Just to share some important but brief points on owning a Community Pharmacy.

What Is Community Pharmacy?

It is a Pharmacy that sells drugs in retails outside hospital premises- the usual pharmacies most people call "Pharmacy" apart from Patent medicine store.

Okay, now that we understand what this is about, what are the basic steps required to own a Pharmacy in Nigeria?

1. You must be a Fully Registered Pharmacist or a family member of one. And that family member only owns a share TOGETHER WITH the spouse or parent who is a Pharmacist. PCN (Pharmacists Council of Nigeria) wants to see the same surname on the names of Directors.
Technically, only a Pharmacist can own a Pharmacy in Nigeria. Non Pharmacists can however deal in Wholesale though you will still need a Superintendent Pharmacist to register the Pharmacy with the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN)

2. Register your company with Corporate Affairs Commission. You will need some of the documents later.

3. Get a business premises (store)

Great if you have your own store but if not, you need to find a way of tying down the location to go through the process of approval.
There are specifications like being 200 meters away from a REGISTERED Pharmacy and space at least 30 square meters plus others.

4. Employ A Superintendent Pharmacist if you will not be running it yourself. [b]
It is the Superintendent Pharmacist that will register the Pharmacy with PCN.

The following are the necessary steps to be taken with the assistance of the Superintendent Pharmacist (SP from now)

a) Location Inspection:
>The SP writes the PCN Registrar through the state office requesting for inspection location.
>Payment is then made to the bank. The SP should find out current charge from your state PCN office.

I will advise you start this process late in the year, say from late November or seek local advice through the SP from the state PCN office (BETTER)
It's not yet a good system they are running at PCN.

b. Collect and fill necessary forms and return them to the PCN office

**The reason I said to start the process November is that they plan for inspection the following year then so you can be among the first to be inspected in your own area (not always so anyway... lots of politics)
But note that it can take 6months to 1year or more to complete the process. You may not be so sure how fast or slow the process will be as at now. Maybe this new administration will help solve making simple processes in Nigeria so complicated.**

c. Set Up The Premises but DON'T STOCK YET!
Once your location is approved, you may be asked to start setting up the Premises for business. You should be given some requirements- things to put in place like your shelves, fire extinguisher, Pharmacist office with A/C, Poison Box and some books (you buy them at PCN).

d. Apply for Registration of Pharmacy Premises
Your premises will be inspected to see if you met the requirements and you will also be asked to pay for the license and registration.
The SP is the one that is involved in all this. Once Registered you should receive a copy of all the documents and then go ahead with stocking and business proper.

But bear in mind that each year's registration ends December. If you want to employ a Superintendent pharmacist to start the process, better hire one with available licence (hard to find at this time of the year).
Also if the SP is not the same as the Pharmacist owner, you need to be ready to be paying the Pharmacist some "salary" to "tie her/him down" till the process is completed otherwise the SP may not be available for the inspections.

The short cut to all these is to buy a Pharmacy put on sale when you are ready but obviously, it comes with its own challenges too. You need to notify PCN in writing of change in ownership. Always better to contact the PCN office for steps to take so that they won't tell you stories you won't like to hear after investing your money.

A pharmacy is a business and running a PHARMACY business is not just about being a Pharmacist, if you care, you can choose us as your business consultant.
Our case is different though: Just tell me how much you can afford, don't ask me how much I charge. If you find yourself saying, "I don't want to mention an amount more than they normally charge," you just discovered that you are not ready to own a pharmacy. It takes a lot of investment- in yourself and in other people too.

Daily children and adults all over the world are experiencing the tremendous impact this nutritional supplement has on the health of sickle cell patients.

No more crisis, no more need of pain relievers and hospitalization. Normal lifestyle.

Watch this testimonial of the President of a sickle cell foundation in Georgia, USA and others about Dioscovite.

The supplement drastically cuts down on the net financial, emotional, physical and social stress caused by Sickle Cell disease. It works by stopping the sickling and stickiness of red blood cells which is the actual reason for the low blood levels and crises sickle cell patients go through.

Business / Make These Statements And You May Lose Customers by PMIcon(m): 10:59am On Oct 09, 2015
Original source: http://house-era.com/index.php?topic=11.0

We have heard it said over and over again that "Customer is king." But how many businesses treat customers as kings? Many are just not aware of the impact some things they do have on their customers and this is worth addressing.

Statistics show that satisfying your customer can increase your PROFIT by 25%-95%. Those are not small gains to throw away. Yet you don't know how much businesses lose by not offering the best they have the capacity to offer because of wrong communication. Most customers who are not pleased with the communication your staff use don't give you the feedback, they simply make their statements by not coming back. And while they don't tell you, they talk about it in town. You don't want that to continue right? That's why I am sharing this topic on things your staff should not say to a customer when they need information, assistance or when they make complain.

1. It's not my department/ It's not my duty."

The customer doesn't care to know which department it is or whose job it is. He just wants something sorted out. Instead of giving excuses, one can say, "Let me direct you to someone who can offer immediate help."

2. "You are right. That was very bad of him."

No staff should commiserate with customer against another staff. It doesn't make you better siding the customer and criticizing a colleague. In the mind of the customer, the company may be seen as filled with a bunch of unprofessional people if you do that. The staff attending to the customer should take responsibility on behalf of the company and say, "I apologize for that. Let me see how we can sort it out."

3. "Call me back."

When a customer calls and, for any reason, s/he can't be attended to right then, it is your responsibility to call back. Remove the stress from your customer.

4. "It's not my fault."

A customer may come in fuming with anger and shouting at the customer care staff who just happened to be on duty when the customer comes. Naturally, it may be tempting to want to defend oneself. This has however complicated issues several times.
Behind the shouting is a heart calling for help. So, instead of trying to exonerate yourself, focus on offering to help out. Say something like this, "I'm very sorry about that, let me find a way to resolve the situation."

There are other statements one should not make to a customer but the bottom line is: Focus on the need and convenience of the client and company and not yours.

Politics / Re: Buhari’s 10 Major Independence Day Quotes - The Nation by PMIcon(m): 3:17pm On Oct 01, 2015
goodlifehyd:
2. We have all the attributes of a great nation. We are not there yet because the one commodity we have been unable to exploit to the fullest is unity of purpose.

This is so true, when most of the animals there are all after their pockets and not the development of the nation, i cant help but shake my head when i see some hungry youths support this same sets of criminals on here just because of hatred they got for the present government.

5. I bear no ill will against anyone on past events. Nobody should fear anything from me. We are not after anyone. People should only fear the consequences of their actions.

We seeing some people's actions hunting them already, the likes of lamido and saraki are already facing the consequences of their actions, can't wait to see the list pile up and watch them all get what they actually deserve for starving the citizens of their rights.

8. Impatience is not a virtue. Order is more vital than speed. Careful and deliberate decisions after consultations get far better results. And better results for our country is what the APC government for CHANGE is all about

We all saw those who took governance like a formula one car and almost plunged the nation into a deadly pit, the saying slow and steady wins the race can never ever be outdated.

Some wailers would be hoping this quotes were from their god with PHD but ran the nation like a pry 3 kid.

Please let's face Nigeria's future and leave provocations behind. We all need to move on to unity of purpose. Let's stop this wailing-wailer comments.
If some people are still wailing, it is because they are hurt. If we focus on Nigeria and the good of all and ignore their comments, they too will learn maturity from us.

Health / Great Hope for Sickle Cell Patients: Many Lives Have Been Drastically Changed by PMIcon(m): 1:53pm On Oct 01, 2015
Dioscovite is an effective, safe, PATENTED Oral Liquid Dietary Supplement for Sickle Cell Anemia control produced in the United States and registered with NAFDAC (Registration number A7-1069L).

The active ingredient in Dioscovite was seen to exert total inhibition of sickling during laboratory testing. This effect has since been found successful in several Sickle Cell Patients who have used it over the years.

The supplement helps to prevent sickling and early destruction of red blood cells (rbc) thereby raising the haematocrit level (level of rbc) and preventing sickle cell crisis as well as other complications of Sickle Cell Disease.

THE PREVENTIVE EFFECTS
For many years, Dioscovite has prevented Sickle Cell Painful (Vaso-Occlusive) Crisis, Stroke, Pneumococcal Infections, Chronic Infections, Acute Chest Syndrome, Leg Ulcers and other Sickle Cell complications from occurring in those who take it.
In other words, Dioscovite turns the Sickle Cell Gene expression to a non-symptomatic state of health when used as recommended.

TESTIMONIAL

Dioscovite is one of the greatest inventions on sickle cell anemia in the world, having saved lives when other methods have failed. For instance:

• Dioscovite saved the life of a lady, given up for dead, by raising her hemoglobin from 2.0 to 7.3g%, normalizing her enlarged liver, abdomen and legs; reviving her so that she is now able to feed and take care of herself.

• Dioscovite saved the life of sickle cell patient by raising her hemoglobin from 3.0 to 6.8g%. This lady could no longer receive blood transfusion because she was incompatible with blood units due to antibodies from prior transfusions.

• Another patient was saved from the painful crises that had plagued her for ten (10) months, increased her energy level to enable her walk without help, raising her hemoglobin from 7.0 to 10.5g%, shrinking her swollen body to normal size and shape.

• In 2 days, Dioscovite restored to to normal state the hands and feet of a six months old baby that were swollen for 2 weeks; Dioscovite raised the baby's hemoglobin from 5.4 to 8.6g%. The mother reported how high her baby's energy level became after being commenced on the supplement.

• A man who reported to have considered bone marrow transplant because of how miserable sickle cell disease made his life said he came across the supplement in the United States and started it. He reported that the transformation was so great that from having monthly crisis he went on to experience no crisis for years despite rigorous activities and lots of traveling (due to his job).

• I recall the brightness I saw on the face of the little girl we first recommended the supplement to after using it. It was fulfilling when she came back with her mother to say "Thank you."

If you are a sickle cell patient (or you know one), give this supplement a try and you will definitely thank me for sharing this with you. You can live a normal life without the fear of when the next crisis will occur

Of course, you will spend money buying the supplement but you know too well that the cost of using this oral dietary supplement will be much less than the burden of pains both of the disease and of its treatment (e.g. several injections and hospital admissions) and the psychosocioeconomic impact of living with sickle cell disease without it.

USAGE

The supplement is taken once daily except for those experiencing vaso-occlusive crisis who should double the usual dose by taking it morning and night. Very convenient. It should be added to fruit juice or any non-milk drink. Not to be taken with ordinary water or alone.
Although eating or drinking high protien diet is recommended, Dioscovite should be taken 2 hours apart from these for effectiveness.

DOSAGE

It is stated on the paper insert so read this before using it. However just to mention

6month- 3years: 0.5ml
4-8 years: 1ml
9-18 years: 1.5mls
19 and above 2 mls

A bottle contains 60mls. This mean that it will take one whole month for adults to finish one bottle whereas it will take children from 6 month old from 2-4months to finish one bottle when used once a day.

WARNINGS

1. Dioscovite should not be used with Penicillins including Ampicillin, Ampiclox, Amoxicillin.
Other instructions are on the paper insert.
Please ensure you read.

2. Although this information is believed to be true, it is not meant to replace your Doctor or Pharmacist's judgement and expert advise. Just MAKE SURE the judgement or advise is not from ignorance on their part. (I wonder why some Doctors would rather advise patients not to use something that could be helpful just because they have no idea about it rather than request for time to study on it.) Nobody knows it all.

Please I need to be really sure. Are you saying there is no law or regulation that specifies any % to a partner Pharmacist in the case of drug importation, unlike for retail pharmacy?

There is an industry practice of 60% share to the Pharmacist but I am unaware of a law that backs this up so far the Pharmacist agrees.
The situation in retail pharmacy is 100% to Pharmacist except if the other person is a family member.
