Car Talk / Re: Auto Gurus Pls What Are The Differences Between These Toyota Haice Hummer Bus by pobeaf(m): 4:39pm On Sep 05, 2018
gbope:
Well...What you have there are the two most common variants of Toyota Hiace in Nigeria. The only thing they have in common is their engine. The high roof version popularly called high frame by Naija drivers is the most preferable for transport business in Nigeria . Why ? Its very spacious and comfortable for long distance travelling. If you want to get a brand new one, costs about 25million naira now. The smaller variant is cheaper but less comfortable. Hope I did justice to your question.
Thank you gbope

Scam from the pit of hell.

I use it but will dump it at the end of the month...ASAP.

Sun is a factor....I get less than 60% charge most of the time

It doesn't power my led tv.
Sorry about the sunlight not strong enough in your area, tho that doesn't make it a scam because sun is a factor in every solar powered device... we have good sunlight daily in my own area.
New price is
15,500 package
4,500 1st month subscription

An average reader of this thread will expect you to mention any part of the review that is biased and bigoted but instead you are just spewing derogatory and rude remarks. Pls park well, your type is not needed here

Like others have said, this is just marketing disguised as a review. I bet this thing will not give you 24 hours light. If OP wants to be sincere, use your TV, a decoder and a fan on the Lumous after 5pm and tell us how long it takes for the Lumous to switch off. Let us know if it lasts for 3 hours.

When there is good sunlight you can use all you've mentioned but at night you have to use it based on the battery level. I never said am using it for 24 hours because I don't stay at home for 24 hours. All am saying is that it pays me for 150 naira per day because I use it for the most important things to me.
With 150 naira per day, I get value for my money

And why did you not mention this

1. You must pay for a minimum of 20 days in a
month or it will be taken away from you.
2. If you use it even for just one hour in a day,
you pay the full daily price.
3. It will cost you about N3,000 per month for
very limited power.
Now 4500

4. It is low capacity. With small sized TV, it will
run out in not more than 2-3 hours in the night,
may be better during the day. On days when it
rains and heavy cloud with little sunshine, you will
have no light, especially if you exhausted it the
previous night.
5. You will only stop paying after 5 years and by
then, the battery will probably be dead.
Paying outright it would cost N402,000.
If paying over 2 years it would be N447,000 over
the 2 year period.

6. This is just mindless money-making by MTN
and Lumos and I suspect that it will fail for lack
patronage they may be force to increase their Price later on

All what you mentioned in 1, 2, & 3 has to do with payment which I have earlier discussed before, so I don't care so long I pay 4,500 and I receive a bonus of 11,250 to call all networks. And if you don't pay they won't take it away as you've mentioned in your first point, they will only call to encourage you to pay like dstv...that's all
As regards your point 4...You can always maximize the use, it's not compulsory you exhaust the battery with heavy gadget whenever there is no enough sunlight to recharge the system
As regards your point 5...your arithmetic is wrong. Subscriber will pay 270,000 in 5 years if he is paying 4,500 per month. Pls recalculate
You aren't making any valid point in 6 since the subscriber can discontinue at any point in time

It's a sincere review from my own experience, I mentioned the pros and cons, that's where the sincerity comes. Is there anything I said that you want to fault?

@Op what i dont understand is paying of N150 daily when the device uses Sun and solar panel, Abi Mtn now own The Sun ?.
Why not buy solar Panel instead youre busy shouting its just for N150 daily that those who cant Afford to pay N150 the device is not ment for Them, To me thats pure Bullshit! Why ?
Well why dont they give the device for free? but instead they sale the device and still charge you for Using it. or please kindly
do the Math N150 X 30 = N4500

NB: A penny wise Nigerian should boycott this Capitalist company and it device for They are not planning to help but to milk average nigerians

Free as the sun is can you generate electricity from it with nothing? I know how much inverter, solar battery, solar panel and installation cost. So also I know that I will be responsible for its repair unlike MTN Lumos that would be repaired or replaced by MTN for the next 5 years if the need arises.
I recharge my line 4,500 monthly to subscribe the light and receive 11,250 promo on better talk which I use to call all networks...so it pays me
Mtn Lumos is not for everybody, it's for those who don't have regular supply of electricity or those who don't have light at all.
Since morning I've been using my laptop with no disturbing noise of generator or having to think of where to get petrol.

I was expecting you to make valid points so that people who are following this thread could make an informed decision but you couldn't do that.
All you've said simply shows that you have personal grudge with MTN.

I use it to barb my hair, it charges my laptop, my phones and other devices any time, it lights my house 24 hours and I also use it watch my 26" Lg LED TV all of these for just for 150 naira per day and you are telling me it's not good with no valid points.
Bro am using it and am enjoying it well and if it stops working tomorrow I stop paying, is there any big deal in that?
Erratic power supply in my area isn't giving me headache any more

Its a rubbish device, i once worked for mtn and i can authoritatively say dnt fall for this device. Its not worth it, simply buy ur inverter no matter how small it is, even a good ups is better than this trash

Bro take it easy now, you once worked with MTN and I don't have any problem with that...and that does not even make you to know more about it than the person that is actually using it.
Mind you, it's an exaggeration to compare mtn Lumos with UPS, can you charge your UPS with sun? Can your inverter work without any power source, be it generator or PHCN?
I am a user of MTN Lumos solar and I have said so many things about it. Is there any thing you want to fault in what I've said?
I am using the device and am enjoying every bit of it
150 per day for 24 hours electricity is OK for me and my family
It is best for those who don't have frequent electricity supply, people living in rural settings or new sites
