My visa in Nigeria expired over a year ago. I qualify for dual citizenship by birthright. I am Nigerian American. I have been here for the last 4 years schooling without a Nigerian passport I want to return next year but my 24 months visa expired and I don't have my American birth certificate that proves that I am Nigerian to get a Nigerian passport with me all I have is my American passport. I don't want to be held when trying to leave the country what should I do?

I am a Nigerian American. Long story short my visa expired in 2019 and I never did a Nigeria passport. Nor do I have the dcouments to create one with me. I'm still in Nigeria . What will happen if I tried to leave? I have my American passport. Can I sort the people there? Or will they excuse me and allow me to go?
