Leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu Thursday backed the formation of Biafra Government as canvassed by the former Niger Delta warlord Mujahid Asari Dokubo saying it is not a threat to IPOB.

Dokubo had few days ago declared himself as the Head of Biafra de facto Customary Government (BCG).

Speaking to the Nation, the IPOB Media and Publicity Secretary Emma Powerful, said the leadership of IPOB has no interest whether Asari Dokubo or any other agitating group forms Biafra government or not.

Rather, he said the formation of many pro-Biafra groups would make the work of IPOB easier, adding that IPOB would support any group that fights for Biafra freedom.

That's the truth most Ijaws on nairaland don't know. Some Igbos too don't yet get the politics the supporters are using against old Eastern region. As long as Igbos and other ethnic groups of the Niger Delta continue to disagree and mistrust one another, both sides continue to lose. Imagine the volume of trade PH, Calabar and Warri would have controlled if they worked together! The job opportunities that would have been created would be so large that unemployment rate would be low. As long as the bickering persists, fulanis will continue to steal from all and allow the destruction of the environments through pollution is killing the indigenes of the land. The villagers will spend the little money they have on treating themselves from the numerous infections that come from polluted environment leaving them in abject poverty. Crime will continue to soar leading to more deaths. This has been the lot of the lower Niger and Delta region from the 80s till date. The Igbos of the upper Niger escaped the situation by emigrating in droves and it paid them heavily. Today, they've even gone internationally scattered into the four corners of the world and God blessed them yet they still remember that there's no where like home. This is why majority of them are behind IPOB. It is our desire that all the ethnic groups of the Eastern region team up and push for their extrication if not for love, at least for the sake of necessity.
