Fact about Mission Schools in Ilorin DON'T LET THEM FEED YOU WITH LIES CONCERNING THE CRISIS IN ILORIN.
TAKE TIME TO READ THIS.
1. Hundred % funding by government is a blatant lie. Enter C&S college and you will see the names of individuals and groups that put up the structures ditto for other Churches who may not put names on their own contribution. You may wish to know too that where there are shortage of teachers, the churches hire voluntary teaching staff and pay them among many other contribution.

2. The practice of the proprietors being the one that appoints the principal of the school from among their denominational members lend credence to the grant aiding status of the schools which this government is trying very hard to take away.

3. These government in 2019 awarded the renovation of 29 Schools in Kwara State, not a single Christian mission Schools was on the list, whereas 5 Islamic/Arabic schools were included. If the government has been funding Christian Schools 100%, why then the omission or will the present administration be comfortable to agree that previous administrations were so generous to Christian Schools as to maintain them at a standard that does not deserve the attention of the current administration? When a clever man put up is case, he should know that the judge too is not a foolish mind. The Churches have being contributing heavily to maintain their schools.

4. If the government owns the school then it is fraudulent for KWIRS to continue to collect exorbitant grant rent from the Churches on annual basis over the land on which the schools were built.

5. The case before the court is on the ownership of the schools but the appeal court judges granted obiter on use of Hijab which was not the substantive case put before it.

6. The judgement was appealed and presently in the supreme court. While wouldn't the government await the final pronouncement of the supreme court before implementing sections of the appeal court judgement?

7. Where there are no sinister religious motives, the matter is a straight forward one. If Muslim students must use hijab in all kwara Schools linked to the government of Kwara State, then return the schools to the original proprietors who are not willing to compromise the standard of their own faith too. You don't make another child to cry because you want the one that is doing the needless cry to stop.

8. More so, the case is not new and the status quo has resolved by the Kwara State Committee on Religious Matters as far back as 2008 is that proprietors of faith-based schools should determine mode of dressing and devotion in their respective schools. Why is this government hell bent on changing the resolution that has giving us peace over the years?

9. The narrative to classify the mission schools as full fledge public schools and not grant aided school is to follow up the hijab issue with complete change of the character of the school including changing the names to government secondary school or anything that suit their ill motive thus erasing Christian Missionary signatures from Kwara State schools.

10. The lies contained in the SSG release and CPS tvc interview are one and the same and should be disregarded.

2. The speech was delivered in 1972 not 74. I assume ( Not sure) the last time schools status were changed was 1974.

3. If these conditions were still relevant and backed by the law, where did the high court and appeal court get the legal backing to rule in favor of hijab?

4. Why are Christians afraid of hijab in a predominantly Yoruba state like Kwara?

There's no basis for any Christian to condemn hijab in Kwara state due to the following reasons:

a. Kwara and all Yoruba States has no record of hijab wearing suicide bomber.

b. Hijab is not new to Christianity. Catholic sisters wear something very similar.

c. Hijab depicts morality, is Christianity no longer a moral religion?

d. Hijab is optional even to the Muslims, no one is forcing the Christians to wear it.

The truth is the islamists don't even want the education to begin with

They know Christian schools are the best in the country to get solid education so their aim is just to cause trouble for the christians receiving such education

After getting the hijab they would then claim the school and drive the teachers out for islamists ones.

Instead of science or learning they would then be focusing on studying the Quran and learning Arabic

If the Christian missionaries find another place to go settle they would get jealous again with the quality of education

Giving them the right to wear hijab in schools with Christian orientation is not the problem, the problem is the resultant consequences.

If this resistance is not taken with all seriousness, I can bet it that they would request for space to build mosque or creating prayer ground inside the schools' premises in the nearest future.

I used to be a Muslim while growing up, me and my younger brother then will go to the mosque to learn Arabic, the clerics then will beat you for any little thing, they never treat you with love but cain always. The last time I stopped going to that evil mosque was the day one of those evil cleric hit me so hard on my face with his rosery that it broke and I had a swollen face. We became a christian a while after then and have known peace, most Islamic people are too babaric, callous and mean. I just don't like that religion at all. They just like fight and making trouble always. I still have Muslims friends though.

What a loss for you!

Many like you have left, Multiple of those that left have trooped in. If you can reason well, amidst this media blackmail, why is this religion still growing fast?

In China, Muslims are being forced to do lots of things against their will and religion, none of you people will say that's bad.

If that's the truly the agreement, then the hijab shouldn't be allowed in the school. But then, Government should just return the school or what is with the school that I own but can't control 100%. All in all, it will be hypocritical for a Christian to now condemn a Muslim for intolerance if he says I won't wish you happy Christmas or so as many of them used to say.

And lastly, Any Christian in a public Muslim schools too must wear the hijab - if Muslims also signed this kinda agreement.

Nobody has provided a legal argument against the government in this matter, only sentiments and biased opinions

I don't understand how a school still owned by the founders have their staff on the payroll of government

That aside, how does what one put on his/her head or buttock affect his or her learning
Besides, the government has consistently emphasized it is not enforcing the hijab on anybody. They can't even do that anyway, not even on Muslims!
All they have said was "if u wish to use it, no problem"
Muslims who wear hijab and Christian relate with each other in the university and workplaces everyday. Has it threatened our corporate existence?
Why can't the same happen in our secondary schools in an atmosphere of love?

We only need to respect our individual preferences, be it religious or otherwise provided such doesn't encroach on tm other people's rights. That's all

Anything outside this is religious intolerance and bigotry!

U can argue against my opinion, but perhaps u shouldn't insult

You are the one contradicting yourself, because public schools is not a place for religious activities. However, don't your think that creation of uniforms was for a particular purpose among the juveniles?

Allowing hijab in christian dominated place would create discrepancies among the children and they are too young for this kind of orientation that can bring about hatred and segregation.

Public schools with Islamic orientation abounds everywhere; why must the parents of those children insist on attending schools with christian cultures and orientation?

There is freedom of association and religion, but requesting for construction of Christian worship Centre at Hihira University Ede, seems absurd to me because the name of the school itself has shown the predominant religion orientation and practices.

I don't know how people gain comfort in creating trouble everywhere.

The christain schools said they don't want, simple!!!
Take your hijab to Muslim oriented schools and let peace reign, what's the big deal about that. It's norm if government grants aids to these Christian schools, if it's for the purpose to boost education in the state but if it's to create a panicky and unsettled situation, let them withdraw their grants and let the state know peace. If the government can't do this, then it brings to the conclusion that Muslims enjoy where there is chaos and anarchy. There are hundreds of schools in kwara to attend that you can wear hijab even private schools, why choose Christian schools?
