Nonetheless, while Christian missionary schools have unquestionably done a lot to expand access to education and equip people with lifelong and lifesaving skills, we must recognize that Nigeria has evolved. Part of that evolution is the emergence of the hijab as a symbol of female Muslim identity.Just imagine. While one is putting in place modality to provide and advance educational development, the other is obsessed with a religiosity that have no semblance to human development. What has they given the world? Absolutely nothing but formenting chaos and violence, using modern advance-ment in technology for anti-human activities, breeding fanatics whose stock in trade is strapping & detonating explosives. What have the world done to deserve this for goodness sake? 154 Likes 8 Shares |

Obviously this matter stems from clear hatred of the religion. Like the poster above, if you feel the hijab I a sign of backwardness and ignorance, then why should it be your place to be so bothered if people choose to represent "backwardness" and "ignorance? Doesn't that reflect your own "backwardness" and "ignorance"? 66 Likes 7 Shares |

Tadeknkeepcalm: Trash talk. They should go and open their own Islamic school and wallowed in their ignorance and backwardness, no Christian will oppose them or have anything to say, but bringing their ignorance and backwardness to were children of light are, is what we frowned at. Dont remind me of the atrocities committed around the world by this hijab. How are we even sure that our christian children are safe with this people? Let me not even imagine it, God forbid. 92 Likes 1 Share |

ThatFairGuy1:"No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth."- (Plato) Hijab controversy being instigated by your fanatical brethren everywhere. From the Firdausi girl hijab controversy during the law school induction ceremony in Abuja to ISI-UI, case, then same in the Osun/Lagos/Ogun and Kwara schools.Even in Christain mission schools especially in the case of ISI? Even unity schools that were once devoid of any religious discrimination in the time past because of the mixed population they attract are now being bastardized by the same hijab controversy? Why always Islam? Our national positions, symbols and institutions are flooded by features of islamic connotations why? Buhari have islamize government and governance in a secular nation.Of course you lots are enjoying it yet this country is being rule by terrorists.Guess your see what Central Africa Republic did to all these your nonsense? I blame most of these schools. When OBJ government returned most of them to their owners, it was only the catholic that fully take charge of theirs.Others choose to remain under government funding. Now government have intensified it further by allowing the fanatics in the educational sector to lord it over others. 29 Likes 5 Shares |

Racoon:What Happened In Central Africa republic, Myanmar are things of joy to intolerant folks (Terrorist) like you. How can you be so intolerant to deny an innocent Muslim lady(who chooses to use Hijab-because not all does) the use of Hijab in GOVERNMENT SCHOOLS? Has the said Mission schools not under the full funding of Government since the betrothal? why these plain Hypocrisy from you and your likes? Are Christian ladies In Government (Nawarudeen) schools forced to put on Hijab? why should Muslim then be forced to disobey the commandment of Allah IN A PUBLIC SCHOOL? This is transgression and won't be allowed. Hijab is a God given and fundamental Right for Muslim women who chose to use it. YOU HAVE TO TOLERATE THIS FROM US, WE DO NOT ASKED TOO MUCH, YOU CAN'T FORCE US TI DISOBEY ALLAH 25 Likes 4 Shares |

ThatFairGuy1:Yeah! Same Allah that you lots are fighting for right? Nobody said you should not wear your hijab(which a lots of nation are now banning because of fanatic Islamic terrorism) but if the adherents of the faith are tolerant to know that some institutions like mission/ unity schools, Nigeria Law School, ISI etc have dress code ethics that have been traditional from antiquity until the fanatic religious intolerance started to creep in. I attend a catholic secondary school in Ibadan but was shocked beyond believe when muslims parents started mutting the ideal of their children being allowed to wear hijab in the school as part of their religious obligations.Of course the thought was perished because it is a mission school like the case with ISI University of Ibadan. 247Dior:There are islamic school your ladies can attend without fuss where they can wear their hijab to their religious satisfaction but in unity schools or national stage it is a different ball game. This is because there are the buddists, traditionalists and even the atheists etc. What kind of chaos do you think will engulf these institutions if everyone will carry their fanatical religious believe therein? 29 Likes 1 Share

Racoon:Well you're naive about Islam, where're not and can never fight for Allah. we're just adhering strictly to His commandment by putting on Hijab (for Female). Because we want to obey this command, you can go ahead and call us names. THOSE SCHOOLS YOU MENTIONED, ARE THEY UNDER THE FUNDING OF our GOVERNMENT OR NOT? If they're, we're and should be free to use Hijab since no Christian students has ever been attacked for not putting on Hijab in Government school with Muslim background despite their dress code as well. This is outright hypocrisy we won't take Mr racoon. 14 Likes 4 Shares |

Are you minding them? Mission schools were one of the tools of colonisation. Their funding came from people who exploited our lands and enslaved others but as good Christians decided to save our pagan souls. Very thoughtful! The earliest schools (and hospitals) in the area were established not by the government but by American Southern Baptist Christian missionaries who first appeared in my hometown in 1948. Until the early 1980s, Christian Religious Knowledge (or, as it was called then, Bible Knowledge) was compulsory in Baptist Grammar School, my alma mater, even though the federal government had urged the take-over of missionary schools by the 1970s 1 Like |
