b for me. 1. the nigeria military to move toward technology in fighting terrorism how? the military should work on drone that can take surveillance of some setting flash point especially area which believe to have movement of iswap or bh. 2 military should order all formation including base clear their area or responsibility. 3 technology towel mast should be place especially in lake chad region which believe is a safe heaven for iswap, like i heard of a military mast which can detect the movement of individual art a distance of 15km, if the military have this mast it will give the military to know about the movement of terrorist,4. the military should deployed back theb 72 special force, afsf, and the special force to clear the high threat area of terrorist. 5. the government should fund the army the exactly way they fund the airforce. 6. i am not against toyota hilux because of it ability to be use for tactical mission but mrap should be deployed. i mixed of mrap and tactical will go a long way in fighting terrorist. 7. the military should started a everyday offensive. not a one day off offensive and one day on offensive. the military should arrest the terrorist sponsor .
i heard of the military planing a major offensive let watch for this
even a unit of 2 men on patrol should be in an MRAP, since Boko joined hands with ISWAP and learnt much more in making sophisticated IEDs, the army too should adopt to combat the new threat, I hate it when I see our men and women on light skin Hilux and innoson gun trucks, God bless you, God bless our troops

exactly most government officials seem not to understand there responsibility, making such comments I feel should be the responsibility of the NSA or defence ministries, although I can't wait for the Tucano, Nigeria dearly needs the weapons it can deploy, precision strikes would surely change the tide of the war..

Hilux shouldn't be used in a high risk area undecided all military vehicle should be MRAP or bulletproof in such area.
It unfair that Government budgets billions to buy ministers bulletproof cars and they can't buy such for our troops.

The convoy of Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue was attacked along Tyomu community in Makurdi Local Government Area of the State on Saturday.

Ortom was said to be returning from Gboko when the incident happened along Makurdi-Gboko highway around noon.

Witnesses said there was heavy exchange of gunfire between the attackers and the governor’s security detail.

At least two sources confirmed the attack to Daily Trust, saying the governor is about to address the media on the development.

By now I expect the police to be on a mass recruitment drive, I expect them to rise up to their primary duty of the securing life and properties.

SWAT teams should be trained by now, at least every local government needs an undercover agent driving local intelligence into the federal coffers.

It was reported earlier that the convoy of Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue was attacked along Tyomu community in Makurdi Local Government Area of the State on Saturday.

Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has confirmed the attack on him by suspected militia herdsmen today on his farm at Tyo-mu, along Makurdi – Gboko road.

Governor Ortom while briefing journalists at the Benue Peoples House after the incidence said as he was inspecting the farm, the militia herders, who dressed in black and had ambushed him and his security men, opened fire.

He said it took the swift response of his security aides to repel the attack, while he ran for a long distance to escape unhurt.

The Governor lamented that the attack came a few days after the leadership of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore held a meeting in Yola and singled him out as a thorn in their flesh who must be eliminated, pointing out that he received intelligence to that effect.

Governor Ortom said his life is in the hands of God and no Fulani militia has the power to take it without God’s permission, noting that as many times as they try, they would continue to fail.

He stated that the ranching law of the State will not be repealed for any reason, stressing that no intimidation could force his administration to reverse the decision of Benue people against open grazing.

The Governor said he would send a petition to the President and security chiefs against Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore as allowing their leadership to walk freely with security personnel attached to them was not in the best interest of the country.

PDP reacts;

@OfficialPDPNig expresses shock at the attack on Benue State @GovSamuelOrtom by alleged herdsmen.

It is worrisome that this attack is coming on the heels of passionate demands by Dr. Ortom that FG live up to its responsibility on the protection of life and property of Nigerians

@OfficialPDPNig demands a public inquest into this reckless attack @GovSamuelOrtom as our party also calls on @PoliceNG to commence immediate investigation and arrest of the assailants.

Kola Ologbondiyan, PDP National Publicity Secretary

Reno Omokri reacts;

It is sad, but not surprising, that Governor Ortom, who has been most vocal against killer herdsmen and their bandit cousins, was attacked by gunmen today in Benue. This is @MBuhari’s Nigeria. Arrest Wakili and be arrested. Criticise gunmen and be gunned down!

The level of disloyalty in this country is too much and something needs to be done about it.

How can top secret memos be seen on the frontpages of Newspapers, who is leaking them out?

If these things continue, i am sorry to say, the war against boko haram and ISIS will never be won.
Re: Battle Field Discussion (picture/video) Of African Military . by motymop: 6:50pm On Mar 20, 2021
This country is easy to break up with the number of various militant groups in different parts of the country.

Who are sponsoring all these militants in terms of weapons and logistics plus fuel to move their hilux around.

Who really is sponsoring boko haram and isis....the source of their income needs to be destroyed first before any real solution can happen to end the war

These guys are attacking both towns Ngala and Gamboru same time. This is the first time a twin attack on both close towns is happening.

These ISWAP guys are becoming more motivated.
