The weekend was largely quiet. So either ISWAP is planning something big for week or they have exhausted their momentum.
Come to think of it, where do they get petrol to fuel the gun trucks and armored vehicles. There should be a way to cut off the availability of fuel to the terrorists. Maybe cause artificial scarcity in the general area of the conflict and adjacent locations. Fuel should be a contraband in some places.

Political reason will never allow state police in Nigeria.

Historical reasons not political, have you forgotten it was state police that caused the pogrom that degenerated to the civil war?
Have you forgotten the biggest riots of the western region after the October 1955 elections was a battle for supremacy between Federal police backed Akintola & state police backed Awolowo?

Nigeria is too ethnically charged to entertain state police, centralization of armed forces as proposed in Aburi has worked for 50yrs, what we should be talking about is increasing their capacity, the biggest problems we had with state police in the 50s is that because the premier (present day Governor) paid them, they recruit from their region (state) alone, so you have all the state police in the whole SW being Yorubas, if an Igbo person has problem with a Yoruba, State police naturally takes side with the Yoruba.

State police will simply create more problems than solving anything.

Government need to close down sahara reporters. It seems sowore and Nnamdi kanu are working hand in hand. The last time sowore and kanu met, i knew lot of blackmail against the president, his tribe and the military will be published daily. The aim is to undermine Government.

In my opinion, government is not doing enough to control information in this country. Sites like sahara reporters will be knocked out of the air in the United states when it goes against national security.

Sincerely, they infact are confused of what to do with the likes Facebook and others. Imagine Nnamdi kanu having a page on those sites and government are still watching.

A government that cares about its reputation will control the narrative and will control information.

He is right in a way.

In respect to boko haram, the police made them go militant.

These people have been peaceful until the police started killing their members.

Aljazera showed a documentary on how bokoharam went militant.

Our police are very unprofessional

The guns, men, resources, camps just appeared because they killed Yusuf? what kind of dumb logic is that? anyways, I dont blame you guys, I blame the Nigerian armed forces for lacking the capacity to counter most of these threats, has Israel not used maximum force on her foes?

Don't put the blame on the police alone, BH would have gone violence with or without the police action. The desire to go violent has been a cardinal principle of any Jihadists.

Dont mind him, they recruited thousands of fighters, stockpiled arms, affiliated to global terror groups for coordination & intelligence for picnic, some Nigerians need to learn how to think. the IQ level in this country is tooo low walahi!!

Learn to comprehend before commenting.

My comment was about bokoharam before they went the militant way.

They were just a religious group...the arms and men came after the killings of their members by the police.

Muhammad yusuf the leader of bokoharam was a former aide to Alhaji buji Foi former commissioner of religious affairs in bornu state.

Know that the police killed both of them unjustly which angered the sect.

Not true...

Muhammad yusuf and Alhaji Buji Fai ( former bornu state commissioner of religious affairs) were working for the governor. We only hear about Mohammed yusuf death but the police also killed Alhaji Buji Fai.

The governor used them to for votes during elections because the group had lot of followers. But then Muhammad yusuf and the former Governor became enemies because Muhammad criticise the governor, governor arrested him and he was freed after some days, the second arrest came when police forces went to the mosques to stop prayers and take the leaders which the people were against, which lead to stoning of police vehicles, the police retaliated by shooting many unarmed members, i literally saw the video.

All these boko haram issue would not have been escalated, if the state government had created a peace resolution.

The police wanted blood and they got a war.

There was no ISIS when bokoharam was popular as a religious sect, the group that was popular was the Taliban and al-Qaeda. And their are rumours that yusuf love the taliban way of seeking political power.

ISIS is a recent invention.

Yaradua only ordered their attack on their leadership structures when they went militant, i stand with my point that the police escalated the crisis.

Fuel is contraband in the deep field. Humanitarian organizations must get clearance from 7 Div to transport fuel, diesel or cooking gas to deep field.

But some local transport drivers have fuel tanks above 100litres. They fill up at Maiduguri sometimes for a trip that cannot consume up to 15litres. They discharge as they get to their destination and keep some that can only take them back to Maiduguri. This is how black marketers get fuel in deep fields.

I did not mention that ISWAP gets it through this method. lipsrsealed

I dont need to learn rubbish from you, they were a religious group then amassed military fighting capabilities over night? that line of thought alone is dumb!! are you dumb to believe that nonsense you wrote?
do you know what it takes to raise over 5,000 fighters, arm, train and get logistics supply routes in the middle of nowhere?
Boko haram has been planning and executing all these since while using their mosque as a cover for radicalization & recruitment.
They didnt do it for fun, they knew what they wanted and subtly built capabilities to achieve that, Whether or not you killed Yusuf is immaterial, so long as AQIM (Al-Qaida in the Islamic Maghreb) bifurcated in two since 2004, Al-Qaida announced they are coming for Horn of Africa & Lower Sahel, we knew two groups will be born, we know today they are Al-Shabaab & Boko haram.
Keep your nonsense to yourself, so if we didnt kill Yusuf then all the fighters, arms, logistics, training will be converted to praying items baa? They will just kiss & hug us, then peacefully live with us as responsible citizens baa? please use your head.

It is hard to exchange knowledge with Nigerians.

It is always abuse from abuse, if you don't disagree with someone can you simply write that you don't agree, which one is i am dumb, i don't believe in what i wrote, i am saying nonsense and all sort of rubbish, for your information, it doesn't make logical sense. Must you always show that you are aggressive and angry.

Back to the topic.

1) Boko haram had over 100k members, pls go to YouTube and check Muhammad yusuf preaching and then see the numbers of people listening to him, so it will easy to get 5k who wants to fight for the sect...Muhammed Yusuf was so popular that even your present minister of Technology ISA PATAMI interviewed him and was closed to him.

Was boko haram used as a means to get vote? Yes.
After election, the governor saw no use of them and then went against them, no wonder, they took up weapons, i still stand with my point, the police escalated the issue.

2) Boko haram and Al-Shabaab are 2 different groups with different ideologies and there was never a time they merge together, boko haram didn't come from al Qaeda, it was formed on its own since 2002 and idealogy was strictly the taliban method, al shabaab was formed in 2006 after the break down of the islamic court in somalia.

LOL, I understand what you mean but there is a bit of exaggeration here. Nigeria doesn't have nuclear weapons and no country will use nuclear weapons on its own territory. But we got the point that the attack was massive. Thanks and keep it up.
