This Bruno won't get in ahead of Scholes. Scholes was a midfield controller which suited that style we played back then. Most of our attacks were from the wings.

Giggs and Scholes of 2008 weren’t better than Pogba and Bruno. They didn’t even have the energy or the intensity. They were luxury players.

If we are comparing their peak, then you are right. Giggs was a substitute in Moscow and he stank the whole joint with his hopeless performance. He missed a glaring chance when Evra put him in with a delicious cross.

The exertions of the season probably wore him down at that World Cup.

This was his 17/18 stats in comparison to other PL GKs.

He faced 120 shots on target and conceded only 23 goals. This isn’t even the complete stats cos the season hadn’t ended when these stats was produced.

Just compare to Ederson(who would be VDS equivalent) back then because of the brilliant defensive unit at City.
This is how you know the defence covers the goalies.
