Readonee35L: Really? Now I know why popsy's engine blew. We changed the engine and there was no fault with the gear and car still moves like his. Funny enough I'm the one that connected him to the mechanic. I will take the Camry to the mechanic before I leave Awka. @Mendy31, is it the same mechanic I recommended that fixed it? Gazzuz, I've forgotten the thread where I asked you about 1Z and 2Z engine. We went ahead with the 1z engine in place of the 2z after the seller at mgbuka refused to collect it back. Those guys at Stanel refused to fix but I insisted and its been working fine anyway. I googled and realised the 1z engines were made for Asian spec camry while the 2z was for North America. The major difference is the size of the piston. The 1z was smaller |

Hello oga Gazzuzz, I have a lexus Rx350 2008 model. I noticed a persistent check engine light, flashing VSC and Trac light on my dashboard about 3 days ago . It took the car for a scanning and P0017 (Crankshaft position, Correlation (bank 1 sensor B) was shown. Recent technical history : About 6 weeks ago, I contracted a driver to bring the car from Ibadan to Abuja. Unfortunately, the driver burnt my top cylinder gasket midway into the journey. He blamed it on faulty fan belt and water pump. I got a mechanic to fix it, though I wasn't there. The mechanic suggested the radiator is changed to double cell and the thermostat removed. These were done and the burnt gasket was replaced. The car was managed to get to Abuja, though drove by another driver, despite the ordeal. When collected my car back, I noticed check engine light, Vsc and trac light were on. I scanned it with these codes p0116, p0128 shown. It was after I got and fixed another new thermostat and returned the electrical connection back to the factory setting that the P0017 started showing up. Presently, the no sign of idleness and it starts promptly. Would you advice I take the for the time chain refitting or continue to drive it that way? NB: I used to service the car with a full synthetic Mobil 1 5W20 until 6 weeks ago when Mobil 20W50 was used I would appreciate your prompt professional counsel.. |

Re: ASK GAZZUZZ by kingreign(m): 7:41am On Mar 24, 2021 |
Famocious: Inadequate protection. Your car requires 5W30 if I'm not mistaken. I stand corrected pls. |
Re: ASK GAZZUZZ by Famocious(m): 8:14am On Mar 24, 2021 |
kingreign: Thanks for the information. A 'professional' advised I use mobil 20W50 because the car mileage was above 150,000 miles. He was of the opinion that mobil 5W30 would be too light for the engine of such mileage. I wouldn't mind to be educated about the choice of oil |
Re: ASK GAZZUZZ by kingreign(m): 8:35am On Mar 24, 2021 |
Famocious: That kind professional get as e be shaa. Your owners manual specifies 5W30. As long as your car does not burn oil, go for it irrespective of its mileage. 4 Likes |

Well done Boss. I need to upgrade my car. I am presently using VW MK3 and I really enjoy it. The only stress is the manual tyranny. My budget is 700K. I am considering buying Camry 2000 ( Pencil Light or Big Light) but friends are discouraging me that the car consumes more fuel than golf and also the timing belt cut off frequently and finally the Shock and cambers are not that rugged. What is your take. Thank you CC: Gazuzzz and everyone.

Re: ASK GAZZUZZ by GAZZUZZ(m): 3:48pm On Mar 24, 2021 |
adubam: Your friends are partially correct. It is a 2.2liter engine. With a timing belt that requires replacement every 60,000miles. |
