Of course the army is lying. Either of these 2 things happened: Innocent civilians or harmless people sympathetic or showing harmless affiliation to the IPOB cause were killed; Or unarmed IPOB members in a gathering were extrajudicially murdered. Even if you are in a confrontation with kids with arms,you will also suffer some form of casualty,even if it's 1% of your opponents.
