Thank you Justwise. The problem is that I don’t know whether this part of Scotland is considered ‘good’. Before you buy and then to sell or rent becomes a problem. That’s the fear.

I totally understand that, use google to search for info about the post code or area, something like..house price in this post code or good area to live in Scotland.. you will have loads of info though many of them will be a year or two out of date.

If u see any property u like in any particular area, compare the price of properties in the last 10 years. It shld guide on how well the area is doing in property market

The Ancient smiley Thank you. It’s time to stop being scared and do some serious research.

Good morning Dear Men and Brethren especially the Ancients on the thread:

How many years would you reckon is long enough in one location to make buying a house there sensible. I.e if you know you will spend 4 years in 1 place then move, would you buy a house for the 4 years or rent till you get to your ‘final bus stop’.

Advice me please. Thank you.

No matter how short the number of years is, buying outweighs renting because you are building equity.

I’ll advise you check the postcode/location on zoopla or Rightmove and you’ll see the previous house prices over a period of time. That will help you to decide if the area is good for property investment.

Please o, can someone living in Nigeria open a Monzo account? I want my cousin to open a pounds account so I’ll save money there for them to show funds in their account.

I won’t go close to the naira with a barge pole.

O yẹ dinosaurs...... Wetin una feel......... grin

Even at 12 months, buying outweighs renting........ grin

Rent simply means you are paying your landlord's mortgage (with no appreciation of asset, beneficial to the renter), which in turn translates to DEAD MONEY....... cheesy

I almost asked what building equity means (insert shy emoji) then remembered there is google. I will sha go and do research on the matter because my DH is currently hand and head deep in human entrails. Thanks a lot.

Hey guys, I’m just joining in .... I’m Oscar.
I’ve just got a uk spouse visa. Likely to be going to Hull were my wife is. I’ll like to make Enquiries how to go about getting a job anywhere in UK. I am a bank branch manager here in Nigeria with about 11years experience. I wanna know what likely job opportunities I can get, what to look out for, how to go about applying and what to expect.

I look forward to your responses. Thanks.

@oscarwilde another IT related area you can look at going into is data analytics...your branch manager job role give you a lot of leeway to show how you worked with data, google has a new data analytics certification out which is meant to be their alternative to a four year degree. You can look it up
