NUC Approves Three New Universities In Delta State by oshozondii: 3:46pm On Mar 26, 2021
The National Universities Commission has approved an upgrade of three institutions to universities in Delta State.

The approved universities are the Delta State University Agbor; Delta State University of Science and Technology Ozoro and Denis Osadebe University, Asaba.

The Executive Secretry of the commission gave the approval when the Delta State governor Ifeanyi Okowa, led delegation from the State to present strategic documents of the universities to the commission’s headquarters in Abuja.

With this Development, Deltal State is now one of the states in Nigeria with the highest number of Universities in the Country.

If only we knew that it's not by the number but by the quality, then,

the Government would have focus on a few and made them world class.

the Government would have withdrawn the license of many and leave the remaining as centres of excellence.


Just like AUST-Abuja, though being small, is a center of excellence in scientific research.

But the government has ridiculed the university system so much that even universities that are marketed from the pulpit are gaining more recognition than government university where billions are being poured into.


Let's learn to make the little better than to see for the worse much.

A state whose citizenry are wallowing in poverty and struggling to pay salaries is about to have 2 more monumental liabilities, and you call that a good development?

I've always wondered why Delta, the richest oil producing state does not have a standard Federal university despite their standing in academics, and why Delta north does not have a single public university.
