Very true. Juventus' decline was amplified by Pirlo's tactical deficiency. The same way Lampard's tactical daftness was too glaring to ignore except of course by emotional fans.

Whether you like it or not, someone who makes people feel welcome or good about themselves has great level of emotional intelligence. If you have met many footballers like I have, you would know such is rare. Most are standoffish, and understandably so.

You say Fergie is domineering and manipulative. Yes, that is also part of emotional intelligence when he needs to be. Yet the same guy brings through youth players, establishes them and makes them feel comfortable within the group.

Everybody likes blaming the manger when things go wrong, sometimes it is not the manager’s fault, there is little one can do with that Juve squad.

There is a time in a squad where you have to move on some set of players, it not that they are not good, but they are simply not good enough to lead to the future.

Juventus will be back, Pirlo just needs to clear some off the finished players.
