The past few days have witnessed unrest in the city of Ilorin, Kwara State where Muslims and Christians have been at loggerheads over the usage of hijab in privately owned Christian Schools.

There has been destruction of properties and many injured as a result of this discrepancy between Christians and Muslims in Ilorin, Kwara State over the usage of this very attire, for the intending Muslims who wants to attend a Christian School.

This wouldn’t be allowed if the Christians chooses to start wearing their attires, in a Muslim School but some of the Muslims causing troubles are insisting that their children be allowed, otherwise the Christian Schools will seize to exist in the State.

In ensuring there is justice, fairness and equity a Television station in Kwara State, decided to invite over the Muslim cleric for the Yorubas’ and he spoke saying he wouldn’t be partial in speaking the truth, he said that it’s a simple thing that doesn’t require or causes any fight, that as there are Christian Schools all around the state, so as there many Muslim Schools too.

He warned fellow Muslims not to allow themselves to be used by the Fulanis in the State to cause religious war. That you can’t force your religion to be accepted by other religions, in their own domain.

As there are lots of Christian Schools, so are there many Muslim Schools all around the State, where hijab would be accepted without anyone raising an eyebrow.

He said that how would the Muslim Schools feel, if the Christians decides to start wearing their attires to school, despite the school having her own standard and agreed uniform for the students? That what they’re doing is simply wrong and not the way a Muslim should behave.

He further said that the State Governor needs to step into the matter and deal with the issues.

As there are lots of Christian Schools, so are there many Muslim Schools all around the State, where hijab would be accepted without anyone raising an eye brow.

How would the Muslim Schools feel, if the Christians decides to start wearing their attires to school, despite the school having her own standard and agreed uniform for the students? That what they’re doing is simply wrong and not the way a Muslim should behave.

They know the truth but taqqiyah, bloodshed, violence & killings are their trademark.Hope they wont call him a karfir and as usual snuff life out of him.

Go to Muslim school and leave Christian schools alone. That's not too much to ask for

Some of us are religiously blind. We are always after religious not things that will bring about development to the people. What is the connection between the so call hijab and study? Would the hijab make the muslim students more sound in learning? What a great country rule by unfortunate people!

There is no Christian or Muslim public school in Kwara State. The writer must be mad.

Government employs and pays the teachers. The teachers are posted by the government's Ministry of Education. Government pays for WAEC fee of the students. Government builds classrooms and offices in the schools. Yet, you say the schools are either Christian or Muslim schools and that the Churches and Mosques should make rules for the running of the schools. If that is not mental disorders on your part, then what is it?

The Churches and the Mosques built the schools several decades ago, but government has taken over the funding and running of the schools several decades ago. Why then will the Churches or the Mosques tell government how to run the schools?

Some Churches and Mosques have built other schools after the government took over the earlier set of schools. These new set of religious schools are all private schools charging prices that Church and Mosque members cannot afford. The teachers and facilities in this new set of religious schools are provided by the religious organizations. These are the new Church and Mosques schools and NOT the schools taken over by government several decades ago and funded by the government since.
