fela1000: No idea if it can be extended. Your best bet will be to call INZ. They are very helpful. |

Artistavin: A 2 year work visa is not the same as a residence visa. A 2 year work to residence visa is a residence visa. There's a major difference. We came on a 5 year work visa and had to change to a residence visa after 12 months as work visas do not have a path to residency. You have to keep renewing a work visa. A work to residency visa on the other hand grants you residency with travel restrictions for 2 years. Then you get PR (the travel restrictions are lifted). 3 years after, you can apply for citizenship. So 2 years residency then PR for 3 years then residency so 5 years in total. A work visa, you just renew every time it expires or you leave. 2 Likes |

Artistavin: That is from the INZ website. See the circled part. New Zealand has one of the most open immigration systems. Hard to gain entry yes but very open and transparent. Everything is on their website for a timer. 1 Like

fela1000:Sorry, that must have been a difficult experience for u......however, I'm sure we've mentioned it on several occasions on this thread that the border is only opened to Residence class visa category and citizens. About the visa extension, there's currently no proper guidelines or clarifications about that. Traditionally if u don't arrive in NZ before your last date of entry written on ur visa, the Visa expires as it hasn't been activated. Same rule applies to any work, leisure or residence class category visa. I will advise u put your travel plans on hold, contact INZ for more informations. We're living in an unprecedented time globally and no country can guarantee what their immigration policies would be in the next 6 months. So you have to keep yourself updated with any change in policies. Best of luck to u. Cheers 2 Likes |

Good day elders in the house, Please I would like to make findings on colleges that offer post graduate diploma in biochemistry or any related courses because they are likely to be cheaper than universities. Please I need as much response as I can get because I have been surfing the internet for a long time but no precise one. Thanks in advance |

Good work guys. Please I want to ask. With the current situation of things in New zealand, are those who are currently holding work visas allowed to enter new zealand. I have read previously that citizens and those with permanent residency are the ones allowed to go in. I need more information here, thanks guys |
Re: 8 Things You Need To Know About New Zealand by Ticha: 12:16am On Feb 05, 2021 |
vtino13: It depends. If you work in a critical purpose role - currently critical health and viviculture (that I know of) you apply for a special permission to travel. Over 80% of those requests were denied last year. Either call or email INZ with all your detail. The chances of being granted an exemption are pretty slim but not impossible 1 Like |

Ticha this question is for you...someone that got nz 2years work visa when the 2years expiry can he or she apply for 3 years own before going PR own. or he will still apply for the same 2years own again |
Re: 8 Things You Need To Know About New Zealand by Ticha: 1:15am On Feb 06, 2021 |
Artistavin: It depends mostly on the job and the wage. Majority of work visas are of a 2 year duration and you renew for another 2 years and so on until you either move to a residency path or leave. There are also 3 and 5 year work visas although these are less common. INZ staff ultimately decide the length of the visas based on the information/ evidence in front of them. There's really no rhyme or reason to it. All work to residency visas are for 2 years. Those are the only visas that enable you from work (residency) visa straight to PR. The SMC (Skilled Migrant Category) visa is the usual and easiest work to residency visa to get and that is always 2 years. 1 Like |

Re: 8 Things You Need To Know About New Zealand by Ticha: 12:50am On Feb 07, 2021 |
Artistavin: You can renew your passport here (Canberra in Australia). Some years, during the independence day celebrations, embassy staff will come over and sort passports renewals etc. Your passport only need a 6 month validity for entry 1 Like |
