shupy:

Welcome to Nairaland. I'm no expert. People do get study permit even when applying with family members. The biggest problem when applying with family members is that it reduces your hometie. However, applying without the inclusion of your children increases your hometie and gives your chances of getting study permit a boost. Don't even think of including your husband in your application. You have to convince the officer you intend to return to Nigeria after your studies. If you and your family have an history of traveling together, strong assets, e.t.c that's a plus. But it's always difficult to get study permit with the inclusion of family. Most people try it and if they're refused, they do not include any family member in the follow-up application and may get their permit.
:

Thank you @Shupy,
We I have done quite a number of travels alone (job related) and few family travels. One of the family travel was to Canada and we didnt over stay. My husband has a stable job, we have some assets and a joint biz we run part-time.

I really dont fancy leaving him out due to the fact that he will not be able to get his Visa renewed to come visit us hence my question on if I can include him in my application.

Secondly, is a 3year advanced diploma in Georgian College a good choice? I see it does not qualify me for the NSE.

P.S
There is no Msc/MBA or PGD course in aviation that will give me in-depth knowledge as the one I have chosen.

Thanks

I think those who have had study permit alongside family members are in a better position to answer you. I hope they see your post. If you're going to include your kids you must explain how they're going to be catered for.
About your course, NSE shouldn't be your biggest concern. You can always submit NSE requirements when applying. The issue with the course is that it's not in progression with your previous level of education. How's the course going to be beneficial to your career on your return to Nigeria. That's one of the question you must answer. The fact is lack of progression is not a plus to your application.

Post graduate

If yes, I applies with my bsc degree certificate, student copy of my bsc transcripts, neco certificate, birth certificate and resume.

The process is to create your profile on ontariocolleges website. Select your school and course, fill the required information needed, then upload your documents. After that you make the 100cad payment. I made mine with my access bank debit card. Once the payment is made you'll receive a confirmation mail from the school

We reviewed your application to Humber College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning to the Web Development program at the North Campus for September 2021 and noticed that you have not submitted all of the required documents.
Based on the documents you have submitted to date, the following are missing from your application package:

• A letter from your institution stating the language of instruction and evaluation was/is in English
• Program is waitlisted
How do I go about this please ?

Humber and their issues.. smh

I didnt apply with IELTS. If you reach the part on the questionnaire that asks for ielts, select the option that your education was taught in English. I guess that'll waive ielts for you.

Good day everyone and congrats to all who recently got approvals.

I received helpful information from here and other platforms when I was applying for my study visa. So I am willing to pay it forward and help.

Although in my previous comments, I have always said, I won't be able to respond to private messages. Well, now I changed my mind. You can send me private messages if neccesary and I will try to respond.

SO, If you sent me a private message before and didn't get a reply, you can now send it again and I will try to reply.

Also I believe we have a lot of people here on this platform that can answer your questions.

I wish you all a success in your Canadian dreams and pursuit.

I was once a Canadian MSC student. BUT NOW, I am writing from my beautiful home in Canada

ILoveDLord:
WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT

Good day wonderful people, I shared my story in part 15 of this thread.

This is just to encourage everyone not to give up on this dream it is possible as long as you keep trying, working with the right information, expecting the best and having faith in God.

After my visa was approved, my family too was approved within two months later. So they joined me during my study in Canada.

I have completed my MSc program(faster than the normal duration), family was nominated by the Province for PR, got my 3-year post graduate permit, started working on a good job and hoping to live the Canadian dream! All things are possible.

I got a lot of information on this platform while applying for my study permit.
I am more than happy to provide advice and information as a way to give back to the platform.

Unfortunately I will not be able to reply to private messages due to some personal reasons. Please post your questions on the thread, I will provide answers if I know the answer or someone else can help. I believe we have very experienced people here who are willing to help.

I wish you all the best

Happy new year!

Where was it stated on IRCC regulations and manuals that going for a second master's at the age of 36 is a red flag?

It is important to be mindful of the advices we dish out to others on this platform as several individuals rely and act on them. I can tell you for free that the applicant stand a chance of getting approval for her visa application with a second master's if she can rationally demonstrate in writing to the visa officer that the intended program is what she reasonably needs to progress in career and explain the benefits of studying it in Canada. I can barely count how many applications I know that were successful with similar profile. As a matter of fact, a matured applicant whom i vetted her SOP shared her success story on this platform last week. In a nutshell, the applicant can apply with a second masters and stand a chance for TRV success.

It will end in praise

Thank you so much for your candid advice. I will be willing to work with you to make this a success. How can I reach you? this is my email:chikafredu@yahoo.com

Please I was informed by my mum to try canada student route. Please what is the cheapest school I can go to and what are the steps I will take. Also is it a must I write ielts?? Because I want to move away from here as soon as possible thanks and God bless as someone finds time to answer me.

I studied international relations and will like to study anything relating to IT or computer if I can’t do that I can go for my masters in another course. Please put me through on my first step

It doesn't have to be stated anywhere. We all know that nothing is guaranteed, and yes pull it off. However progression is always going to be a better choice. Going for a degree at the same level is always going to raise concern. No matter how beneficial the second degree would be to someone's career, a visa can be denied solely on the grounds that there is no progression.

For cheap schools, Google search can help. Just search Google.

The information about the process can be found here. But you must be willing to take your time to read through the pages. You can learn from other people's story.

Depending on the school you are applying to, IELTS is not compulsory, since Nigeria is an English speaking country. What you need in place of IELTS is an official letter from your university stating that Nigeria's official language is English, studied and were taught your courses in English. The letter should be written on the official letter headed paper. Preferably sent from the office of the Registrar.

You need to write a convincing statement of purpose as to why you want to study the course.

There are lots of information written on this platform, just take your time and read through.

All the best.
