garfield1: Each party tried to influence things in their own way but PDP won at the end of the day. Ordinarily based on performance in the state they should not have won but their victory was based on two major factors.... Voter apathy and Local sentiments of this is our thing and should not go to an outsider. On local sentiments, the Ngwa people in Aba saw the election as their own and any other person as a useupper. The Governors message of this is an Ngwa man's position so do not let an outsider take it really worked and knocked off any other factor that would have made them loose the election. On Apathy the Non Ngwa's residing in Aba didn't care much about the election and so didn't vote cos they lost faith in the Government of the state. |

kahal29: Gbam.me and fergie discussed something like that.I said that since settlers constitute the bulk of aba voters and will lean towards mascot,it us key that they dont turn up.fergie said something about ngwa in apc betraying mascot which I agree |

Igbochief001: Since 2015,pdp struggle in aba.apga won in the house of reps back to back, otti in 2015 won in aba, abaribe lost in aba in 2015 and narrowly won there in 2019.buhari scored up to 35% in aba in 2019.aba is dominated by non ngwas.for mbaise,I agree with you.they usually give pdp bloc votes.apc does not need to waste time there |
Re: Aba North/South By-Election Official Results by fergie001: 10:40am On Mar 28, 2021 |
kahal29:Voter apathy in the SE didn't start today. It has nothing to do with the failings or not of this Govt. Asides 2015, Abians don't vote. They only came out full force because of the wind of "Buhari's victory". An Abian is the person who will on election day, sit in his house, and be telling his children how he voted in 1979. They won't vote o, even with the PU in front of their house. Secondly, off-season elections are like that sometimes. Lagos had a Senatorial bye-election recently and the turn-out was poor as well. Again, on the sentiments of Ngwa....the question now; Is it justified? I personally think so. garfield1:This isn't the first time we are seeing it. When one person lords over all, there is bound to be this kind of betrayal. We have seen it with APC in Ondo, Bauchi, Adamawa and co. We recently saw it in Edo. The Ngwans in APC didn't even hide their preference....before the election, I personally told you Ikonne will vote his brother. Don't forget that the Abia State APC Chair is Ngwa, though from Osisioma (an OUK lackey). The solution now is...Have they learnt their lessons? Do they understand, that OUK should talk less and take a back seat esp issues outside his Abia North, because "mamacracy" will always rear its ugly head each time he opens his mouth. Lesson learnt, I suppose. |

garfield1: Fergie was very right on his description of the Ngwa people. Just like someone else said they behave like Mbaise people too cuz they share same boundary. |

Re: Aba North/South By-Election Official Results by kahal29: 10:55am On Mar 28, 2021 |
fergie001: Yes justied but they made it look as if Mascot was being imposed from outside and that's my problem with that because it is not true. Mascort has contested for that same position for two times in 2015 and 2019 where he lost to Osy Prestige from Abiriba in Abia North and that time nobody remembered that he is an outsider until now it fitted into their campaign strategy. So for me since Mascot was a contested for that position in the 2019 polls and the winner of that election died it was only natural for him to recontest. My only joy in the whole affair was that the two prominent people in PDP who supported Mascot kept their word even though he lost. 1 Like |

Re: Aba North/South By-Election Official Results by kahal29: 11:02am On Mar 28, 2021 |
fergie001: Who is lording what over? That's not true my brother but that's the narrative the PDP people were pushing and it worked but for some of us who are in this state know very well that it is not true. OUK is not like that and those who are saying know in their hearts it is not true but like they say all is fair in war. So when this same Mascot contested under APC in 2019 who imposed him? |
Re: Aba North/South By-Election Official Results by fergie001: 11:02am On Mar 28, 2021 |
kahal29:The two people in PDP have seen where their prominence led them. It is justified, no matter how we look at it. Why must Mascot be imposed? Even then in 2019, the outside tag was still labelled but because he was an outlier, nobody bothered.....he wouldn't have come a distant second. His brother then didn't want to bring Aba down then at the time. You remember his Ohafia war chant songs ![]() ![]() Are Nigerians going to keep quiet if the APC and PDP decide to fill in a Northerner again? What will someone like you say if the PDP fields Atiku again? Mascot got what he deserved. In Umuahia, we have the Apugos both in the PDP and APC...there are boundaries nonetheless. No one should play God. |
Re: Aba North/South By-Election Official Results by fergie001: 11:05am On Mar 28, 2021 |
kahal29:You say ouk is not like that? You talk as if I am in Pluto. Orji Uzor Kalu? Please. The PDP aren't Saints. Abia needs redemption, from an OUK? NO. Let him spin whatever narrative, he wants to. |
Re: Aba North/South By-Election Official Results by garfield1: 11:08am On Mar 28, 2021 |
kahal29:.talk true.I never knew they share boundary.I think I'll undertake an ethnological study of the two groups to see possible correlations...ngwa try small for apc, mbaise hates apc.hope should not bother going there to campaign... |

Respect where it is due. Any other thing about him, makes no sense to me. kahal29:Leave story biko. Ebisike was a PDP project and that's it. |
