Like most addictions, cold turkey is the only way out. If you don't know how to gamble, drink, smoke or *womanize responsibly, don't do it.

*Polygamy is legal.

First start by deleting all apps relating to betting and stats predictions. From there you will also need to stop watching football( for now) and start engaging in more profiting activities like reading and praying.

I hope this helps.

You should start by seeing your losses as losses instead of trying hard to redeem them

It's not too late to turn back, in fact the best time is now that you have realised you are drowning

By now you should know you are not progressive

Delete everything related to betting... Work on yourself more and engage your mind with books that will facilitate positive thinking

Above all, pray to God for guidance

Oga, the OP is trying to stop betting and the easiest ways to stop is to have nothing to do with those things that promote betting. Simple

We have given advice to many people like you on this forum on this same topic in the past half decade or more.

Many came back to say thank you for saving their destinies after following the step by step advice given to them.
(We told them all thanks and Glory belongs to God alone.)

We hope to come across one of those threads and give you the link.
Too long to start typing all over again.

May God save Naija youths from gambling.

The number one Rule for Gambling is : NEVER bet with what you cannot afford to lose.
But these ones will bet with their school fee,
pocket money,
they borrow loans to play bet, use friends and family members kept with them to play, they use their house rent etc.....

Dem no dey telli person......

A lot of people, young and old are in cold grip of this vice called addictive betting

First step is to delete everything thing concerning betting from your devices

Second step is to make yourself (especially your finances) accountable to someone else (spouse, religious leader, mentor etc)

Third step is get a support group

Fourth and final step is to channel your energies to something else (academic pursuit, religious activities, increased studies for students and increased workload for workers)

Limit your stake to at least #500 per week and don't try chasing your losses..

Also note that ,there is no sure game anywhere.

]How I stopped betting. First of all, I asked myself "why do I bet in the first place". I bet because of money. When I win, I make money, and when I don't win, I lose money. Sometimes I do win and make money, and other times I don't win and I lose money. After any given period of time (one week, one month, or a few months), I notice no matter what happens, I lose much more money than I gain.
This made me realise it will be in my best interest to stop betting. And that's exactly what I did. And my financial life is better now.
My advice to you op, you need to stop betting right now. If you stopped betting now, you will see the massive difference it will make in your life.
Thanks so much!

When the fun stops, stop! Gambling addiction has got to be the most dangerous addiction. I can give anything up but that one is proving very difficult. You just need to set your priorities right and spend more time doing more productive activities and maybe spend more time with your family.

I usually don't think about betting when I'm low on funds so maybe keep your money somewhere you Can't easily get to.

And if you cannot get over it, maybe it's time to really seek help through therapy. Goodluck!

You need to have someone you answer to. If you really want to work this out. Get a girl you trust. Let her handle your finances. Make sure it's someone you can die for o!! Someone you don't want to lose or disappoint. That way you know someone is monitoring you. Then you can start working on the other parts like not hanging out at bet locations, away from bet sites. And pray. It works too. I hope you find peace.

I know of a salary earner man who went bankrupt just because of betting. owning people here and there and unable to buy good clothes, talk more of feeding well all because he's paying the debts he borrowed from two places, all in the name of bet9ja.

E wife don complain tire because, the kids are all looking malnourished.

If you don't want to get addicted don't do it in the first place, since I was born I've never played these bets upon a bet9ja shop is my next door neighbour at shop.

Op sorry.

it depends on one's mindset
every addiction in life is one's mindset.
if you want to leave it you will, you have to restrain yourself but gradually cus it won't be easy. Find other legit way to earn extra cash to sustain you and your family. and if you play 5000 per week, reduce it to 100 per week only Saturdays, if it you win or lose don't play till the next weekend again 100.

because I know you might have tried to quit completely, that won't be easy. just follow the 100 per week until your mindset changes to nothing per week.

Most gamblers are salary earners. You know the thing is we have a very cruel government. Most have stakes in the business. It's not supposed to be allowed to run in our beloved country. It's drenching a lot of young people's finances and turning them debtors. Sport betting and online gambling should be banned in Nigeria with immediate effect.
Nigeria government is evil. Very evil.
