Cooladex: From what I seem to know, USask's graduate tuition payment begins when registration of courses starts. So you might not be able to pay Fall term's tuition at this time until around July/August, or at least until the spring/summer terms are (nearly) off the way and registrations for the Fall begin. In that case, for the purpose of visa application, it will be wise to have the full first year tuition deposited in your wife's bank account as POF. This is especially encouraged considering that you the husband are not the one sponsoring her studies, but your elder brother. To the VO (and of course to me too), it sounds very odd that your brother will be financing your wife's studies and travel. As such, to be any way convincing, having him deposit the money in her account will make much sense. 3 Likes |

khosen: khosen: According to IRCC quarantine guidelines: A suitable place of quarantine is one where you: › Have access to the necessities of life without leaving your place of quarantine › Have a separate bedroom if the space is shared with family/friends who didn’t travel with you › Can limit interactions with others in the household. If spaces, such as a kitchen, are shared: › Wear a mask if a 2m distance cannot be maintained › Thoroughly and regularly clean common areas after use › Are not living with those at risk of more severe disease › Are not in close contact with others who did not travel with you. For example, do not quarantine in: › A group or communal living setting, including camps or student dorms unless the location is pre-authorized › A household with a large family or many people › A shared small apartment or similar setting. Uzomachukwu: Thanks for the clarifications. So in order words we can go ahead and start our visa preparations. As regards my brother standing as sponsor, we intend to use him because of some documents that might be needed in the process of visa applications, Properties, Land documents and all, and also been a top management staff in a known organisation he will easily generate the POf funds, as I won't easily pull that off on my part. And also, we all near the same surname. We are already planning on a strong SOP and sponsorship letter. Pls also, is there any chance of getting a scholarship? She finished with a first class Bsc, and a Distinction in her second degree. Or the scholarship comes on merit? Thank you. |

Please for those that have booked a flight since the 3 days hotel quarantine started did you book a direct flight to your final destination from Nigeria or did you book to your port of entry? If one is to book a flight from Nigeria to the port of entry can we also book the connecting flight to our final destination from Nigeria or are we to wait till we get to Canada and receive the negative covid result before booking the connecting flight? I hope my question is clear 2 Likes |

I got NSE message to submit IELTS and a year statement of account.. though have submitted a year statement of account and a waiver letter from.school here in Nigeria and in Canada. I wrote the IELTS but the result isn't good enough. L 5.0 R 4.5 W 5.5 S 6.0 Overall band of 5.55.. can I submit this as well or I should just make use of the waiver letter? |

Cooladex: As per the scholarship, there ought to be a mention of earnable fundings through GTA/GRA positions. But I understand that their first priority is to PhD students, with (international) MA students seemingly on the lowest rung of the financial needs scale. Does your wife have some research publicationsin her CV? Ten good research papers could have made her a strong contestant for the Deans Scholarship award of 18k yearly (22k for PhD students), in which case her Graduate Chair could have nominated her for the award. You might want to take a look at this link to see if your wife qualifies for any of the scholarships there: https://grad.usask.ca/funding/scholarships.php#University. I doubt though if much could be got through the link as the Graduate Chair, working with the admission committee, ought to have advised her about any available scholarship she could apply to. At any rate, please still contact the Chair. He/She might have some useful suggestions. --------------- Regarding, the visa application, yes, you can definitely begin working proactively towards submitting the application this very month of April, particularly after having discussed the possibility of obtaining fundings/scholarships with the Graduate Chair or Coordinator. It's great that your brother, you yourself and your wife all bear the same surname. That will help in establishing the family relationship, but it also MIGHT not distill the filial distance between your wife and your brother——I mean, from the standpoint of the visa officers who (probably because of their own totally different cultural background) might cynically find it hard to believe that your brother would not actually be funding your wife's expenses. So just to be on the safe side, if it's at all possible for your brother to transfer the funds to your wife, that'll be most satisfactory. Still, I'm neither IRCC nor God; they alone could tell how an application will go. A very strong SOP and sponsorship letter will indeed be very helpful. |

ogunleyesijibomi: If you submit this, IRCC might as well be dancingly saying now: 'Ah, we said it! Having studied in English doesn't mean that one can actually read what's written in English'. Let me speak for myself: If I were the owner of the IELTS score, I wouldn't dare submit it to IRCC, even though some persons in the past have been said to have got their approval without scoring up to IRCC's required 6.0. The score in the R module particularly does not make a good case for your application. 10 Likes |

leon5050: This might not be of any help, but I think I should mention it nonetheless. Just in case your sister needs some financial aid in the form of educational loan, she could get some (so-called) assistance from financiers/lenders like Mpower Financing (https://www.mpowerfinancing.com/), that's if she is going for a degree program. But of course, which one of us isn't afraid of lenders and their Greek gifts? 1 Like 1 Share |

ogunleyesijibomi: I won't submit this if I were you. Most especially your score in reading. How do you convince me as the VO that you had taken courses in english language. Please note that IELTS is not compulsory as you have an option not to submit if it's practically impossible to write another. 6 Likes |

hello house, I have gathered my documents and started my application but then, one of the options is saying the request for medical required. but when I was doing the questionnaire, I filled no when asked if I have done medicals in any IRCC accredited clinics, so the why that option as I don't have it and cant submit without it. please guide me on what to do. it says I have 60 days to submit and looking at Q-life, the available date is from 26th April upward. so please seniors. what should I do here? as I haven't submitted it, can I delete and start afresh or just leave it and book medicals, then submit after medicals. see attached pix for what I filled in and tell me if I did it right or wrong.

Good day House, Please I submitted my application with my uncle's (sponsor) & my personal statement of account for 6 months. I also submitted my English waiver from my school and IELTS result. If by chance I get NSE request, 1, do I still need MBS? 2, if 1 is yes, would I require MBS of my uncle (sponsor) alone or I will have to submit MBS of my personal account too? Also can I attach intro letter from my employer to the MBS, as I only attached my offer letter, pervious work letter, promotion letter |
