The transplant was successful. They both came back to nigeria last year when travel restrictions was lifted. Since last year she has been sound & living a healthy lifestyle, i pay her visits regurlarly at my boss's house in abuja. In january this year, my boss traveled for a course abroad, left her & the new maid he got at his residence. My boss lost his wife 6yrs ago to an accident and his two sons are based in the south east. He practically lived alone. Last week i got a call from her that she was ill and has been rushed to a general hospital. I left makurdi where am based to pay her a visit. I was at the hospital when her mum called to inform me i'll marry her corpse if anything happens to their daughter. I was scared though because this is a practice common to the efik & ibibio part of the south. Well, i lost her yesterday at a hospital i transfered her to in lagos. Now my issues now are as follows...
I wish some group of good people will see this and take it upon themselves to fight you and your evil boss legally to the end since the poor girl doesn't have somebody. The parents kicked against the idea and you people manipulated them in your usual greedy way. But even if nobody fights you, God will fight you. You both have relatives, why didn't they donate? There's no need of you claiming right. God will punish you

Hmm. Hope no be African Magic series be this

Having read this story, I feel something fishy went down. I put it to you that you guys kept looking for naive and gullible house help until you got the perfect person who's kidneys matched. So you're trying to say that in all the 300million plus people in Nigeria, you just randomly picked one person as domestic staff and boom, you got a donor? Search yourself Mr man. What is even surprising me is that you sound so casual about a whole human life lost. All you're still thinking is yourself and what would happen to you if you do or do not perform the said rites.

How convinient for your Boss to run away and leave the mess for you to clean up.

Kai!!! God will punish poverty!!!
God punish poverty!!!
God punish poverty!!!

This made a lot of sense.

You see, there are times the elders should influence the younger's decision.
in this case I will blame you, yes. Let me ask you, if the girl was your sister would you have allowed/adviced her to donate her kidney even if she accepted to?
I Know you wouldn't.
So, for allowing that unexposed girl, who doesn't actually know the implication(s) of donating a kidney, to donate her kidney meant you never cared about her.
I don't say you should marry her corpe oh, but just accept all the blame and try all your best to comfort her parents in anyway you can because they told you already that you will marry her corpe if anything happens to her. that means they never truly accepted (You should have known that)

Should her family carryout their threats, Are they spiritual side effects to marrying a corpse? am already in a relationship that w'll tie the nots in no time. Does it mean i wont get to settle down if eventualy i perform her marraige rites? To be sincere,. Av seen comments here suggesting we forced her. We never did. I lived on my own while she was with my boss. She was certainly of a legal age when she accepted to do this. My boss took care of her parents and her salary was very impressive. She was given an appointment into the correctional service where we work as compensation. I never knew what went wrong because i work in the north central part of the country. Currently am planing to travel with her corpse to her home town fro lagos. I already sent an advanced party to meet with her family to help calm their nerves. Am only 29yrs old and has never had such an experience before. Family men & ladies, how do i handle this situation?

There's no serious side effects if you do. It's just there culture of making sure all the necessary things the family will get are gotten when they lost a female child.

But they usually do this to those who cohabit their ladies without their blessings or tying the knot.

Are you sure the girl was not impregnated by you and lost her life after an abortion? Or you weren't into an amorous relationship with her?

Whatever you do, I trust those Efiks/Ibibio, their eyes are you now and you would soon be kidnapped to marry the corpse even against your will.

No one seems to understand my story. I was practicaly far away from them. I was working in calabar at the time when she was at abuja. But nt for respect for the dead, i would have uploaded her pics. This girl was jst too big for her age. She was 21yrs old this january. I was the one who approached her parents for her services, that's why the blame is upon me. As am typing, my boss is stil abroad & planning to return to nigeria this week. She was never used or forced.
She may not have been used nor forced as you said but I believe she was pressured into doing this and promised a lot too. By the way, what's the cause of her death? What did the report say? Something really fishy went down and you can't claim ignorant that's why you're willing to do everything to have peace of mind and ofcourse you won't.

Why
Re: Her Family Told Me To Marry Her Corpse by optimistic0001: 6:17pm On Mar 31, 2021
We learn things daily, for those saying you should not follow the corpse home, if it's their sister or your sister and this thing happened, and the middle man (you) is not there, how would they feel?

your boss is an assistant CG and the lady was already an officer. let your boss plan a one time huge compensation for the family, he should deploy if possible, high powered and armed men, so this men can give her a befitting burial as an officer and also guide you from anything coming from the family, you on your own can decide to pick any of her siblings and offer to train in school as your own compensation, but marrying the dead, I don't support this.

But in all, I do not support you in the role you played in this whole kidney donation, and as your boss comes back, he should also follow the dead to her place to be buried and also pay a last respect because he is surviving and carrying one organ of the dead even though I don't want to say the ladys life was exchanged for your boss own. THIS LIFE, WE THE LEARN THINGS SHA.

Let me assume that parts of this story are even true. If that is the case, let's look at what parts are not. Let's look at what doesn't add up in your story.

First, you certainly were not altruistic when you sort to recruit that young woman for her services as a maid in your claimed boss's service. You certainly targeted her solely for the purpose of becoming a donor in benefit of your principal to ameliorate his end-stage renal disease (ESRD).

Your knowledge of the fact that a person who suffers from diabetes cannot become a donor points to your deeper involvement in staging the donor and recepient relationship ab initio. It will be fair to say that you usurped this young lady and her parents economic situation, and your superior knowledge of the foregoing in nodging or persuading her to acquise to that for which she was recruited.

It is known that kidney donation may very slightly increase a donors risk of eventually developing kidney failure.

You also claimed that the procedure was performed in Germany. Contrary to your averment, the said transplantation in this constellation grossly violated the Deutschen Transplantationsgesetz (TPG). German law forbids live donor organ transplantation unless in those circumstances that exceptions are provided for in the TPG. The case in review falls short of that allowance so that I think you may be economic with the truth regarding the location where this procedure was performed.

Why is this location relevant?. It speaks to competence, and the possibility of medical malpractice or mismanagement that may ultimately have led to the loss of this young life. We know Nigerians to be people who want to cut corners to save money regarding most things including matters of life and death.

Germany is a country of first rate medicine, and and it will not be incorrect to say that the people who can afford medical tourism in the Bundesrepublik Deutschland in todays Nigeria are a diminishing sum of people domiciled in the top echelons of government and business. It will be fair therefore to also suspect, or even assume that your principal, although a higher grade civil servant, clearly do not fall within this cadre of our citizenship.

My suspicion going forward is that this nephrectomy was performed in India and not Germany. Not that there is anything to be said against procedures carried out in India, but the other question that ought to be asked is, whether the requisite and recommended regular checkups, including monitoring of the donor's kidney function and blood pressure to evaluate her health after kidney donation was adhered to.

You also did not bother to perform an autopsy to determine the real cause of death, or you chose to keep that pertinent and material information from us if you did.

The problem with us in this country is that we always do things upside down. Everything including human life have turned to commodities in the face of bitting economic wickedness. The call to perform post mortem marriage although guised in tradition toga still has economic implications in reality.

A proper judicial review of this matter will establish the truth regarding this lady's untimely demise, and culpable elements.

This is a police case, and should be invited in this matter as it is.

you're smart!! but this may not be about where it was done...it's crystal clear that her organs were harvested

Well it should be that you can only marry the corpse if she was your girl like your fiancée or wife , and you didn't pay anything on her head then she died like she died under your care .

Are you sure your boss actually travelled to germany with her or did he take her to another country (for cheap sake) without you knowing? Are you sure they only took what they said from her body?

If a German hospital did the procedure she would still be alive today. I believe something went terribly wrong with her surgery! And your boss may be hiding something from you. He probably wanted a donor not a maid! He may had brain-washed the poor girl.

You can't marry a dead woman you didn't date. And she didn't die giving birth to your child, for them to demand that ritual from you. She was an adult and agreed to do it. Even her parents knew and allowed it to go ahead.

The best you could do for the dead girl is to ensure her corpse reached her people to bury. Your boss supposed to be responsible for everything including corpse transportion and burial expenses. After all, the girl died because of him.

You helped the girl to get a job, so whatever she did as an adult, after that, has nothing to do with you! Demanding that you marry a dead woman you didn't date at all, is absolutely a ridiculous nonsense!
