Appointment date: May 19
Program start date: May 24

Considering the closeness, pls do you think it might pose as an issue. what can I do and that was the only available date
I had my interview a day to my resumption. some others had it within a week after their resumption and still got approved. you have no problem at all. but to avoid the worst case scenario, collect an extension letter from your school.

Hello friends. I have two admissions, one is a bachelor degree in computer science and the other a master degree in computer science from different universities. My undergraduate degree in Nigeria is not in science so I am making a switch. I have the following questions and will appreciate your help.

1. Which of my admissions do you think I should go to my interview with? I was thinking of going with a masters degree but careful since my first degree here is in Art.
2. The school that gave me graduate admission waived GRE and TOEFL. How often do VOs ask for test scores?
3. Without GRE or TOEFL, can I tell the VO that they were waived because of covid since most schools did?
4. Does it matter that I have been denied a visiting visa in the past?

Good morning and happy new month to everyone.. Please, I want to know how many times one could log into cgf account in a day to check for available interview dates. Any penalty attached when checked severally in a day? Please, do not overlook my question. Thanks.

Q1. I think you should send your Naira account statement to them, with an email explaining that you can’t get your statement in dollars and the equivalent of $1 in Naira.

Q2. If you fill their I-20’s now, I think their Living expenses will be added to your I-20 now(I’m not really sure), so I don’t think you should get it now.

Q3. You need to renew your passport now because when applying for visa, your passport must be at least 6 months to expiration. Since you’re yet to get your I-20, your interview date might likely fall in June or July which is less than 6 months to expiration.

from experience I’ve checked up to 6 times a day but I lost count
If you check multiple times always they would block you out for 72 hours

1. I can’t really answer this question explicitly, but IMO going to the embassy with either admission depends on you age(if UG) and how well you can convince the VO about the change of degree.

2. On a scale of 0-10, let’s say a 5.

3. Yes, you most certainly can and should.

4. It doesn’t matter, just make sure you indicate the denial on your ds-160 form.

No one will do this for you, you can check through the previous pages for transcript especially between October to January.

NigPatriot:

For your preparation, kindly go through this thread https://www.nairaland.com/5233208/general-usa-student-visa-enquiries-part

It contains past transcripts of many F1 applicants. Look at the approvals and learn from the denials too. Practice and gain confidence, but have it at the back of your mind that not everyone gets the visa at first trial, some finally do get it after their 4th attempt - knowing this will relieve tension and not make it look like a do or die affair for you.

It is between 4-5 times, if you exceed this, you will be banned for 72 hours and don’t try to log in if the 72 hours is not complete the timer will start again.

I am 22. Is that too old to do a second bachelor degree or would going to the embassy with a graduate degree better?

Hello
Please try to confirm if Russia is accepting applications from the embassy before you apply. The Schengen space was restricted since January.

It’s a bit tricky. There are no appointment dates here and they are rarely available. However given the travel restrictions, it’s the best option for me.

Hello guys.... Please I have 2 questions

1. If I cancel a scheduled appointment, will my visa fee still be valid to use in scheduling another appointment?

2. If closer dates open up aside the date I currently scheduled, will it still show on my cgfi account by the side as before I scheduled an appointment?

Thank you so much!!!! Please, permit me to ask you another question. My school is resuming in August and I really need to get an early interview because of a particular reason. I have not chosen any date yet because the available date for Abuja is 18th of August. I am waiting to see if there would be available early dates so that even if I select one, I can still reschedule for the second time if an earlier date pops out. I am a bit confused right now because the date keeps changing. It was 10th August the first time I checked but it is now 18th August for Abuja. Please, I will be grateful if you clarify me on this. I can't get any answers on the internet. Thanks.

It is between 4-5 times, if you exceed this, you will be banned for 72 hours and don’t try to log in if the 72 hours is not complete the timer will start again.

If you cancel once yes you can book again one last time

And also
If you have already scheduled a date you cannot see next available dates again on your profile

You’re not too old for a bachelor’s degree. Check the transcripts between October to January, there was someone who got there visa six years after leaving high school.

1. It would still be valid if you haven’t canceled an appointment before.

2. If you haven’t canceled your appointment before, you will see a reschedule appointment button at the top left corner of your cgi portal, click on the button to see available date. Whenever you see a favourable date and you click on it, your appointment will be rescheduled.

Good morning Amazing people.

Thanks for your contributions so far, my interview is in few weeks and i will appreciate if you can help me go through my proposed Transcript.
Course of study - Business Administration (master's degree)
School - University of Michigan Dearborn
Scholarship- None

VO - Good morning
ME- Good morning sir (with a smile)
VO - pass me your I20 and passport
ME - Here you go sir
VO- where are you going in the US?
ME - I am going to the University of Michigan Dearborn for my Masters in business administration.
VO - How many schools did you apply too?
ME - i applied to 3 universities
VO - How many gave you an admission
ME - 2, which are University of Michigan Dearborn and The Lincoln University oakland California.
VO - Why university of Michigan?
ME - i choose the university of michigan because 1. According to the princeton review the university of michigan dearborn has emerged as the best business school for 2021, the 12th consecutive year. Not just that the school is well known for its research opportunities with renowned professors i will be priviledged to work with, going through the faculty webpage i discovered an ongoing research with professor Ted London on the evaluation of international monetary fund loan policy on developing economy a case study of African and Asian Economy. The university of michigan also offered me an admission into business administration and management with a minor in international business coupled with courses tailored towards my career aspiration.
VO - what is this research about?
ME- basically this research is about the adverse effect of the IMF loan policy on developing economy talking about 1. The conditionality 2. Perspective 3. Structure 4. Operating policy and 5. Lending policy
This research will also help us to discover if the western countries (i.e developed countries) are using the funds to control the economy of developing nation.
VO - why do you want to study in the US
ME - well the united state of america remains the number one country in the world when it comes to innovation, technology and most especially business. Studying in the US will expose me to research opportunities which can not be achieved here in Nigeria. It will also help increase my chances of joining reputable financial organization in Nigeria when i return to pursue my career as an economist analyst.
VO - why not Nigeria your country
ME- having had my undergraduate studies here in Nigeria, i can categorically say that the nigeria school curiculum focuses more on the theorectical aspect of learning and does not offer hands on research opportunities that give detailed knowledge on my preffered course. Studying in a developed country like the US is not just going to give me the classroom knowlege that i need but also world business research experience in form of field work that is imperative to the course of my study.
VO - have you ever travelled out of Nigeria?
ME - No i haven't had a reason too.
VO - what will the program do for you?
ME - in line with what i currently do as a sales and account officer responsible for the management of client and also interest of the organization i work for. This program will help me acquire the needed knowledge and experience needed for me to be successful as an economist analyst, which will inturn prepare me for a career path as a consultant where i would be consulting for both the private and public sector on economic related issues.
VO - who is your sponsor.
ME - My mom is my sponsor
VO - what does your mom do?
ME - my mum runs about 3 business, she has a supermarket, a clithing stor le and food distribution store. She has about 9 staffs working for her.

Please i really need your honest opinion.
I am so sorry its lengthy but i will appreciate your contribution.

Thanks

Why waste another 4 years for bachelors when you can spend two years in masters? Shorter duration, reduced funds and higher degree?.

Your first degree doesn't determine your graduate studies. Most schools in the US will admit from any UG discipline, you will only have to do few pre-requisite courses before starting your graduate courses which is way better, cheaper, easier, faster and more convenient than starting bachelors from scratch.

I had my UG as chemistry, switched to MBA at graduate level and all I did was to take UG pre-requisites in 5 courses before starting my masters courses.

2. Explain it the exact way to the V.O, " it was waived by the school"

3. If you school waived it, tell the VO the same when asked.

4. It doesn't matter. Alot of people have been denied multiple times before getting the visa

You can pay your visa fee first before sevis
And you can also use someone’s GTB to pay they would send the receipt to his or her mail if you use the app
