1..Those names can be either. I believe most of those names are from ED. You can search ED to confirm.

2.. Sourcing leads can be from anywhere. Google Map & Bing still remains the best. Facebook & LinkedIn are also good social media sites to extract leads (emails). Reon is not a search engine. It's a software to extract yellowpages leads.

3. The more end users, the better. The focus should be targeting the exact city and keyword.. E.g IkejaBarbers.com While searching for endusers for that domain, nearest cities will pop up. They are not really your target therefore, avoid them mostly not saying you should ignore them completely either.


4. He answered that already. However, follow-ups can be 6 times depending on how you do yours. Just ensure you don't, it's not choking. Your instinct should guide on that. Till an enduser say, STOP.

Brotherly, in domaining, what is certain is this, you will make sales if you don't give up. Develop your own strategy. Ensure you learn how to surf ED for good names. Focus on city + keyword or keyword +city such as LawnCareBolton or BoltonLawnCare, TowingLagos or LagosTowing.

If you read Duru's message to the end, you will see his portfolio size.. 450. That's a large one. You understand better. Don't. I repeat. Don't go on buying spree. Learn the ropes. Read and unread till you master a concept you intend using.

I was going through ED that day and i saw this name, my brain told me someone has sold this particular name on Nairaland before. I came here to confirm, I registered it immediately after confirmation.

That was how I made my first sales also - Plano//Pool//Services//.com , I saw the name on ED and I remember that someone has sold it before on this thread.

Thanks to Haykay2005 too, he helped me in closing the deal for $500.

The second is Cleaning//Service//Charlotte//.com and that was sold for $100

The buyer offered $50, I told him Dan will never process any transaction lesser than $100, he went to check Dan's review on Trust pilot, he paid after he confirmed Dan's legitimacy.

We are learning every day from this biz.
What I have learnt from the bosses here are:

1. While searching for names on ED, make sure you have many end-users on Google map (use map. Google. Com). The shorter the better.

2. During outbound, doing it manually is the best. ( I have tested manual and mail merge). Search your endusers on Google map, go to their sites one after the other to get leads, send your letter immediately one after the other. Get leads from Bing, LinkedIn etc if possible. But Google map is very very important.

3. Follow up periodically. Don't relent on follow up. Do even up to 5 times for each name. Arrange your names in a file (excel etc) so as to track your outbound well.

4. Get lots of sales letter and follow up letters. Ask for help if you feel your grammars are not many sense. This can turn a prospect off automatically.

5. Ask for help in closing deals if you feel you can't handle a particular prospect.

6. For newbies and others, don't forget to reinvest when you make sales. Grow your portfolio wisely. Learn from your mistakes. Try not to repeat them.

I stopped buying names last year December and focused on selling my portfolio out a little. And also to learn new things from my bosses here. I will resume buying this month.

I sold 11 names this month (portfolio size: less than 260 GEOs), all because I incorporated the above strategies. Try it lets see how it goes with you.
