Hello, How is everyone doing!
Don’t really know how to start a thread, this is my first time but i am going to try !
Left Nigeria for Ghana on the 23rd of March and by air and i have been impressed by what I have seen so far, Truly the Giant of Africa is no more Giant. Nigeria is just getting worse but well let’s be hopeful!

Some reactions and comments i will continue the thread and the advantages and disadvantages of living/staying in Ghana

Thanks!

Thanks bro! And yes to be sincere today is my ninth day in the country and I haven’t heard any sound coming from the generator! Damn a whole nine days and light didn’t go off for a seconds.
A place where you can even go and check on a friend at midnight and not being afraid of thieves or whatever
We don’t even close the gate to the compound I stay
Just so organized and peaceful like you have said earlier.

I am just being surprised at how far our country have been left behind by other African countries . And to be sincere i didn’t know Ghana currency supersedes our Naira. A 100 Cedes is almost equivalent to 10 thousand naira .. meaning 1 cedes is 100 naira .

Naira just useless like anything
I came here with Naira and I really regretted doing so

Ghanians are accommodating and life over there is better than what we have here.

Where are u in ghana.. ?

Imagine when theres a scheduled maintenance to be done on the power station, there would be a radio announcement that by xy hours, power would be interrupted and by xy hours, it would be restored.

Freedom to move about anytime of the day especially those staying in major towns and cities of ghana. But if u stay in remote areas / village's its difficult shuttling around at night.

Good Morning Ola,

Nice thread here, Can you please share the cost of traveling to Ghana during this period.

Flight from Nigeria to Ghana, how much?
Did you pay $50 at the Airport as Ecowas stamping?
Did you do Covid-19 test after 7days?
How much is the test in Ghana?
For someone traveling to Ghana for 14days, how many Covid-19 test will I go through?

I will appreciate if you can answer those questions. Thank you in anticipation of your response.

You remind of my trip to Accra back in 2012, I also travelled through ABC, we arrived at their park at Nsawam road very late that night, so had to spend the night there. cheesy

I went with airpeace and I booked it 135k, and you have to be with a covid test and yellow fever test!
But my friend booked his 81k but simply because I booked mine 2 days before the day i fly and he booked his a week before ! So the nearer the date you are flying the more expensive your ticket is

And also you have to show a $50 note because you will do another covid test on arrival at the Aiport in Ghana. The $50 will be payed on arrival instantly and you don’t have to pay any $50 for Ecowas stamping!
And for someone going for 14 days you have to do one in Nigeria tho Guys dey run am, then another one on arrival at Ghana Aiport and then another one after your 14 days !
I hope I have answered all your questions.

I stay at Broadcastle not far from there shoprite(West Hills Mall) and that’s is true about the maintenance regards there electricity though I haven’t experienced any light off since i entered

Ghana is more expensive than Nigeria, and Naira is really useless compared to Cedis so you have to be financially ready! And about getting a job i really don’t know about that but you should see a job because the country seem accommodating and I would tell you to budget within 300k-500k on arrival means you must enter Ghana with that amount so you won’t be stranded at worse 200k which is 2000 cedis

Good morning !
Regards the Time zone Ghana is a hour behind Nigeria! And what I notice in Ghana again is the way they respect there traffic light. I will send some pictures regards that when I am out today! I have moved around a lot since I arrived 10 days ago now and every single time they respect there traffic light so much and you will never see a bike without an helmet here !
There traffic laws are really important to them and yes they still spend coins in Ghana lol funny but true , there coins are called Pesos .

This 2 coins in naira = 100 naira
Because they are 50 pesos each making 1 cedi and a cedi is 100 naira .

And Ghana Ladies are so hot ! I wouldn’t want to remember Wetin my eye don see
