People who studied very good courses like engineering are suffering and you are thinking of studying a course that is very irrelevant in Nigeria, and to an extent, the world.
Man, don’t let anyone rush you to studying a useless course except if you are from a fortunate home or you have “reliable” connections.
If you don’t have any of the aforementioned, abeg don’t rush. Calm down and study good courses that is still very much relevant in this present world.
And for those that will come here and say, it’s not about what you study, one can learn good skills .
How about you study a very good course and also learn those skills?
My 2 cents

I'd say it's a useless course unless you want to become a lecturer or career civil servant.
People shouldn't waste four years in a university studying some courses. You'd be farrrrrrr better off learning digital skills with that time and resource if you can be dedicated.

Hotel, Bush Bar and, Beer parlour .

You better choose professional courses with high Labour market demand like Accounting, Economics, Law, Banking & Finance. Your course of study somehow still count most expecially if you don't have Godfather. Choose wisely

For those who do not know, there is sociology of everything. Sociology studies every aspect of human society ranging from health, security, politics, law, religion, psychology, crime, military, family, economy, history, demography and population, journalism, education, witchcraft, activism, entertainment among others. Sociology is less appreciated in this part of the world because we are still underdevelop, but it is of much relevance in economically advance countries of the world.

Questions like these are clear indications that u do not know what is going on this country. I studied Sociology, I came out with second class upper, from one of the best Universities in Nigeria (UNN). I'm now working as a chef. Don't desperately hope to practice what u studied especial in courses like these, learn something.

Yes, this is what they tell you whenever they want you to study a very useless course. They will say “you can work anywhere”, lol.
Oga, good courses are highly specialized...

Sociologists are in very high demand in the areas of conflict resolution, criminology and gender studies. Best bet is to get into the university system as a lecturer, setup your own consultancy and you will not regret it.
Re: Is Sociology A Nice Course To Study In Nigeria? by Nobody: 12:39pm On Apr 02, 2021
Any course is a good course if you have connections to get job after lol. Besides what you study as first degree does not really matter in this country, Just make sure you finish with a 2.1 at least and you should be okay
