Do all these people watch football or just come here to talk rubbish? My friend onazi in 13/14 was indispensable for SE. He even had a better 14 world cup than mikel and infact, when onazi was intentionally taken out vs France, the pathway became clearer for them
Onazi had a better 14 world cup than Mikel? I've heard it all.

Ndidi to me is a world class player but he need to raise his game with eagles.

Nigeria will never forget Sunday Olishe against Spain and Nigeria will never forget Onazi against France.

Muda Lawal of blessed memory as DM carried eagles to the final of Afcon 1984.

Ndidi need to carry the team just like he did against Lesotho.

Imagine comparing carpenter like onazi to ndidi

Na to dey run pitch round na em be say person sabi ball? cheesy

If Bulgaria club calls Anayo, he should jappa. He will be better off than on these concrete pitches. He will get better footballing education and play in a far better atmosphere.

Are you not seeing how Partizan Belgrade helped Sadiq's life?

Oga even Kano Pillars don't play in Kano because their pitch was considered not good enough. There is no concrete pitch in the league. Plus the Bulgarian league I watched while Stephen Eze was there didn't have perfect fields.

Sadiq went to partizan after 6 years in Europe so that doesn't relate in any way.

U are basically telling him to take a slice of bread now instead of waiting for the whole loaf. His only thoughts should be about being selected for the next WAFU and having a good tournament. If he does that he will surely get a good move abroad.

Oga no serious European club side will send their scouts to monitor players in a sub regional competition like wafu. They rather invest that energy in youth competitions in nigeria and other parts of africa

How many local based players have made it to good European leagues after shining in wafu competition? cheesy cheesy

Anayo has 2 options if he stays at the local league, he will remain eligible for the Quota system "homebase selection" and will keep getting a call up but if he moves abroad now to a backwater league he will now be competing against the likes of Ejuke, S moses, Kalu, Ademola lookman, Emmanuel Dennis and he isn't better than any of them. Another option for him is to refine his Game as an Attacking midfielder aka 10. That position has less competitor in SE. Omo SE has a Generational Talent we just have to Win something

So Rohr be you like person wey go fall for that scam for quota for local league players?

Baba's dey set on winning the next afcon and qualifying for the next world cup he can't gamble such with local based players when he is blessed with better talents scattered all over Europe

To me, tactical and technical refinement i will say. He doesn't look like he has fitness issue. He is a quality talent with lot of potential. Great skill, speed, grit and shields the ball very well. Just needs to not be too anxious to impress. If he is serious career wise, he would go very far.
My only fear is his height. IMO players who are that short have to be extra extra special. Okocha isn't as short as Anayo. Anayo looks like 5ft 5 inches, okocha was at least 5ft 8inches. Maradona was shorter but he was Maradona.

so you think if kalu and Simon are available for selection this Enyimba boi go smell super eagles shirt again?

Even I forgot to mention ejike and lookman who will join hopefully before the end of the yr

If he has a good agent he is good enough to secure a move to the Belgian league or any of the scandanavian clubs which to me is a good start and in a season or 2 he may attract interest in bigger leagues

Oga it is called taking your opportunity.

All your talk is opinion related. The fact of the matter is that Rohr played him in two AFCON qualifiers. That is what we saw. Would he have played him or would he have not doesn't concern me. All I know is that Rohr saw enough of him to give him playing time.

Ahmed Musa doesn't ring a bell undecided plus the scouts will only take the players they want. Taking players to competitions doesn't mean they are the best or that they have special qualities.

Onazi was clearly targeted. There was even an earlier tackle on him that had him leave the pitch before the damaging one.

Even Ambrose had a dangerous tackle to.

I think before that game, the French had a similar issue with another Player too.

Onazi was targeted. Nothing like freak accident.

That's the Fact
Onazi was once a force to be reckoned with in the Super Eagles midfield. He bossed the midfield against France in the 2014 world cup. After he got injured, Nigeria midfield became destabilized and France scored. Personally for me, Ndidi has not done anything special in the Super Eagles. Etebo is always above him in the Super Eagles Jersey.

so you mean it was in wafu that vv venlo scouted Musa or his performance in that yrs wafu got him a move to Holland? shocked

As a rookie Musa broke the Nigerian league goal record which made clubs in Europe to take notice of him. What really worked for him was his young age

After his feat others that went on to break the record or equal it what happened?

As a local player in the African scene u stand a good chance getting noticed by European scouts if you are anything below 20, even being 21 or 22 na by Gods grace

Diego Maradona has slammed France midfielder Blaise Matuidi’s challenge on Nigeria’s Ogenyi Onazi worse than the bite Luiz Suarez unleashed on Giorgio Chiellini.

Maradona believes Matuidi shouldn’t be there, insisting the tackle deserved a harsher punishment than the four-month ban handed to Suarez for his bite on Chiellini.

“Where’s the ball? It’s criminal,” said the 1986 World Cup-winning captain of Argentina.

“Now I want to see the reaction of Fifa. The reaction of [Pele] and of [Franz] Beckenbauer. You must have a lot of nerve to not see that this is worse than Suarez.”

Look at that picture and tell me that was not a clear target. As Maradona asked, where is the ball in that tackle.
