Uni. education is not for everybody.

Get used to it.

The SYSTEM and other factors can make someone complain about that, it's not just about reading. What about the approach of teaching, and the students state of mind! I remember a guy who was withdrawn based on his under performance, thesame guy went abroad and mastered in structures.
Strength of materials has always been a headache to most engineering students

You sounded like who does not understand what school is all about.
You studied a course for 3months.
You called it a course not a subject.
That course has many subjects.
Some of them may look abstract and very difficult to grab.
U need to understand 4 to 8 subjects.
U need to combine it wt ur financial problems
There are also domestic issues
What about the bad condition of the country that makes learning uncomfortable
What about the lecturer's factor. Those lecturers that lack the ability to impart the knowledge.
What about the normal pressure the name "Exam" put on students.

When you take a particular course for 3months or more... reading and study should earn you an average of C or B in a hour exam...

I get some students are going through challenges while studying

In respective of the number of course you offer in a semester you should be able to make at least C in a course...

What's the difference between a pin joint and a hinge joint? What's the difference between static and kinematic indeterminacy? If you or your mates can answer this question without looking through Google after consulting all your textbooks, I'll agree you have a right to say civil is easy.

Worst of all the you'll be given 4 or 5 questions to answer 3 or 4. So basically a student studies for 3 months to answer 3-4 questions in less than 2 hours, yet they'll be moaning like ladies.

Any teacher/Lecturer that wrote that on the question paper is not worthy to be called a teacher.
A good teacher should show empathy
A good teacher calms the nerves of a learner down even at the face of the most difficult course of learning and not putting fear in learner even when it is not called for.
A good teacher should have the knowledge of learners.
A good teacher is the one that makes learners understand that scoring high marks may not be the same as understanding the subject. Therefore he does not make the see exams as a do or die thing.

So I grade that lecturer as lacking in qualities of a good teacher.
He just want to display his wickedness.

This explains the reason why whoever is teaching at any level of education should have a teaching qualification. He could not have given this kind of instruction if he has attended a teacher training course.

Exactly my brother... social media, bet9ja, prostitution and Yahoo Yahoo has finished the average Nigerian youth. That's why most of them despite being graduates can't even compose an ordinary Resume letter.

This reminds me of Prof Rahman's Structural Geology Part 3 exams(Practical and Theory, 3 hrs each)
OAU Geology and Geophysics students will relate.
Here, crying is allowed oo..cos the invigilators self suffer am too.

It's easier said than done. We don't study those tiny courses and materials that you guys do...We study degree courses...Anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, pathology, pharmacology e.t.c and we're expected to carry everything in bulk till the exam day which is not on semester basis...How will your cramming in January help when you may even write your exams in December or the following year...My friend, Medicine is second to none.
