When the disadvantage far outweighs the advantage, the advantage becomes irrelevant.

Even Devil had advantage by making us wise and some religion says, God is the enemy of man because he never wanted man to be wise but the devil is friendly and gave man wisdom, can u even believe this?

Everything has another part of the story, military was bad for Nigeria

if I should personally take over as a military ruler I swear to God ehn Naija go better . Democracy will never make Naija good based on ethnic and religion..some set of people in Naija deserves to leave this planet

we gave u a hypothetical country and asked how will u make it better, u keep bringing history.
when I read the thing u posted, I knew it is not particular to military rule, any govt can create states and change currency and do everything u listed there.
so what's the fuss about military govt?

Its not actually easy to lead a country, we all are just expecting too much from the govt

There's plenty to STEAL IN A 36 JOINT PURSE so The Federal Government is wallowing in Corruption. But from a State's Single Purse, to steal something, if any, you must be EXPERT OLE.COM.

I will first of all strengthen and tighten the security system of the country. Even if it means employing the assistance of external forces and foreign security agencies until peace and calm is restored.

Then I'll fund and encourage the farming sector and make sure every state goes into general farming.

I'll create a govt owned manufacturing and production companies then improve the existing ones to create employment opportunities for the masses. Everyone must be employed no matter their level.

Next will be to build houses for everyone and I plan to achieve this feat by reducing the number of houses an individual should own.
If one person has more than one property, he'll be allowed to pick only one of his choice and give up the rest for the govt to convert for Mass building.

After this exercise, all the extra houses and lands recovered will be demolished and I'll erect new structures for the masses so they can at least be able to afford housing at a very cheap rate of 1k per month and 12k per annum.

Then I'll improve the health sector by equipping it with topnotch quality medical facilities and equipments.

These are the most pressing needs that I'll first tackle then gradually attend to the others.

I sincerely wish to become the president.
Lmao please eeh before u wish to become president study the function and power of the president and it's limit

Then study our financial situation ,how much we make a month , wage bill , debt servicing

Then come back n talk

I will lead by example. I am sure I will be shot dead before the end of my first term or rigged out not to contest second term

1 There will be no importation of any tokunbo products or parts. I will visit very high tariff on imported daily need items. Importers of shoes, clothes, vehicles etc won't find it easy. Manufacturing industries to create mass employment will spring up
2 Extensive road construction projects to be executed mostly by ministry of works, not contractors. Just like IBB directorate of food and road rural construction, but this will come with farm settlements, power supply etc
3 Mass metering and jail terms/huge fine for illegal connection. Electric charges to be increased. No subsidy.
4 Abolition of fuel subsidy
5 Each tertiary institution and medical center to receive billions of direct funding from the budget. DG/Rector/VC to give break down of spending publicly each year.
6 Increase in minimum wages. Quarter of the work force in some government establishment will have to go home. Many can not justify salaries received.
And many more to do grin

Please what is our problem in your own view.

From my perspective, our problem is the constant Fall in value of our naira and this is due to a lack of productivity of our people and also our general effizy culture.

This is why petrol, electricity, road construction and other infrastructure cannot be achieved.

The main solution to our problem is raising taxes on vehicles, houses and other things Nigerians value and using these funds on improving basic education and health care.

Nigerians are hardworking but are not educated enough to make decisions in their own best interest. This is why elections are based on religion and tribe as opposed to electoral promises and accomplishments.

PS.

I am not advocating for increased taxes on BUSINESSES, but on consumption. If rich people bought fewer cars, more dollars would be saved so the naira would be stronger and electricity and fuel prices which are the main causes of inflation, will not have to always go higher.

1. Make sure the government is sincere about implementation of true federalism and resource control.

2. Finish NIN registeration FOR EVERY NIGERIAN.

3. Push for full local government autonomy.

4. Enter into public private partnerships for road construction and hospitals all over the country.

5. Make sure the percentage of the budget allocated for education is fully utilized for it's purpose.

6. Hire mercenaries from South Africa etc to partner with our armed forces and combat the bandits harrasing Nigerians.

7. Make sure every radio and TV station has at least one program a day that speaks on national orientation, etiquettes for better living, good driving behaviour and other things that help the younger generation become more aware of ways to improve the society.

8. Quicken the pace for starting state policing.

9. Start gradual restriction on importation of pharmaceutical drugs that can be produced in Nigeria.

10. Make sure history, Nigerian major languages, and entrepreneural studies are taught in all secondary schools.

All these, even if I don't succeed in putting all in place, will lay a solid foundation that will quicken development and peace.

Because they think like average Nigerians that's why we elect the kind of people we do

Do u really think our politicians don't want to make good name for themselves

U think buhari don't want to be the first man to give nigerians light ?...

How I wish solving our problem was that easy

Harvard just a university has more reserve than Nigeria

Developmental economics for a developing country like Nigeria is very difficult ...even if we all unite , elect the best brain it's still a very very difficult job

Now u have a structure that produce not so smart people because majority of nigerians can't get the smart people ...in a democracy ?

With our revenue , limited power of the president , current country structure there is nothing anyone can do

More..

11. Push for legislation to compel companies that have huge turnovers to sponsor at least one sports tournament a year.

12. Make sure all schools in Nigeria, both public and private, learn and sing the national anthem every school day.

13. Public private partnerships for all government schools apart from a few selected ones to be fully run by the government in all federal zones.

14. Public private partnerships for prison construction and management.

15. State of emergency on clean environment.

so we cannot increase our revenue?

How do governments across the world earn revenue?

What is our tax to GDP ratio?

How much do we pay for property and vehicle tax?

Finally someone who knows what the problem is

We can but believe me you it we scatter Nigeria completely ....know why

Obviously south would pay by far the most tax ,north would benefit by far the most .... imagine pay 40% of your total income as tax and a buhari decide to do rail to niger republic ?

The first thing anyone would do to move Nigeria forward is to increase revenue, increase tax , this would get people more involved in politics ... artists charge 10 million per show government takes 4 million , next time when he see a none perfomaning government officials he won't smile a pose for pictures

The loop is simple Nigeria have just enough revenue for the elite to be able to use to control the poor masses ...so they don't tax the middle class enough so that they don't have any interest in politics

Only the middle class can make changes ...

We can simple make taxes payable to people's local governments of origin. Even if you live in Abuja, and you are from lokoja in kogi, your taxes on your house and cars would go to lokoja LGA. There's nothing difficult about this.

Also, there are a lot of northerners eating fat off Nigeria's oil wealth.

You think north would agree ? Obviously not

Oil money is not really someones money they are just lucky it was there

If someone dash me and you money and I eat it

Me and you contribute money and I eat it ...which would be more painful

Thinking leadership is the problem
Or that the politicians that we have dont want to make good name is the number problem

So as a president ?

1) charge the middle class to take interest in government by taxing them 30% of their income ,
50% on endorsement , show charges , lottery winning ,etc

2) send a bill that would eradicate the 36 states and have 6 zones with provinces as they wish
a) every ethnic groups would be given chance to join any zone as long as the zonal assemble

b) each province would control their resources and pay tax to the zonal government , as as zonal government would pay tax to the federal

c) province would have their own security team ,also the zonal security team would also be operational

3) send a bill that would remove road construction , education ,police , health from the federal government ... federal shall only regulate

4 resign ...enjoy my life
