I agree with you, if we made NIPOST functional, we could create at least one million jobs. Look at the Royal Mail of the UK for example, those guys deliver mails to residences everyday, many people are kept busy by that.

Thanks. Let me tell how they do it elsewhere: just imagine if all your correspondences with your bank---new ATM, change of address etc are delivered to your residence. Your NIN, mails from abroad and within the country, parcels, just name it, are delivered to your place of abode. This is not theory, that's what's done in the western world.

Why doesn't immigration just mail the passports? What is the purpose of NIPOST Existence? The crazy thing is overseas they mail passport but domestically they forget how to use the postal services. The issue extends to pretty much all government documents because these dinosaurs refuse to think.

Sadly in the passport fees breakdown, we still pay for them to mail the passport to us. Yet we have to go to the office severally, and beg just to get it after 2 months of application and data capture.

The systematic corruption in the NIS would be difficult to eradicate.

They purposely make the passport process difficult in order to offer the "express service" for more money. Which money doesn't go into the government coffers.

Now sadly, the "express service" is the normal service. Will cost you twice or thrice the official cost, and yet will take weeks before you can get your passport.

Instead of building passport office in every LGA, rather they can build in every senatorial zone. That is less expensive and more feasible.

But the problem with passport issuance is the systematic corruption in the NIS, not the number of passport office available.

Sounds like fraud unless we're paying them to mail it to the office instead of homes ironically.

Public/Private colab..... passports issued in 774 LGA's? If you think Nigeria Passport is now singled out for extra scrutiny... what do you think will happen when passports are churned out at all these spots? Passport office with VIP Lounge... really? What is the cost of all these satellite offices?... why not distribute via NIPOST?...Like someone said earlier?

All they need Is an office in each state capital and all the big cities make the offices very efficient. Make use of latest technology. Let people fill form online, go do biometric at the nearest office. Send the passport back by NIPOST.

If they're goal is to give themselves inflated contracts to build everywhere them this is the perfect plan. Even the steps you mention are done overseas. Lol even the drivers licenses that have ones address are still expected to be picked up but Nigerians hardly ask why dont you just mail this to me.
