Omotomi05: Firstly, there's no one particular format for this purpose other than the fact that you have to do your home work before mailing a professor. That is, be very conversant with what your POI is into, ensure you have interest in his work and it aligns with your ambition. After which, write up a formal mail expressing your interest in a GRA position under his supervision with your updated CV attached. If you're mailing a Grad Coord or departmental head, it'll be less tedious. Ensure you write properly and express (with reasons) your desire for funding/GA attaching your CV. Still, there's no one format for this. A potential Grad student should be intuitive enough to write a winning format. Even if the courses are the same, the SOP's should be different. Thorough research needs to be done before writing an SOP. I'm sure your research in those different schools will not be the same. Although some part of the SOP's will be similar will end up being similar. 4 Likes 1 Share |

Please, I need advice, I was offered Msc admission by Virginia Tech with full funding. I have paid the sevis fee and about to schedule my visa interview. I am in Ogun State. Based on what I have heard about unavailability of date in Lagos consular office, Would you advise me to schedule a date at lagos and reschedule within 60days to start of program or directly apply to Abuja office and hope you get a date around May/June. How well does the emergency rescheduling works.. |

Chief, whichever option is fine. At the end of the day, you will still need to book an emergency once your state date is within 60 days. The emergency requesting works smoothly. Once you request, it will be granted in less than 12 hours and you will be presented with dates closer than the regular booking. I am certain of what i am saying because i requested emergency and will be interviewing this month (Summer 2021) Sirburgeon: 3 Likes |

Dmoney1992: MTU is a better choice - Based on school ranking. Ranking of schools is a very important factor in the visa process, it's easier to proof to the VO that you're a serious student by getting accepted to a ranked school. Some other factors you can look at is, cost of attendance. Which is cheaper to afford, in your case since you don't have funding, this should be momentous. |

HappyRabi: Bad advice. If he has funding, living expenses may be covered. There are many issues to consider when choosing a school - it should not solely hinge on finances. Strength of the program, faculty (publications, research focus), where are the program alumni placed etc. 1 Like |

Good morning and happy Easter to everyone. Pls, I need an advice on what to do in this situation. I made an initial booking for interview which is on the 20th of August. I really need to reschedule appointment and this prompts me to check for available rescheduling dates. To my greatest suprise, a msg always pops out indicating that I have reach my limit for rescheduling and will pay for another MRV. Could that be a mistake from them? Pls I need their official email address to submit this complaint and I will also be pleased if I get responses from you on what to do. Thanks!! |

Hello everyone! 1)Please, what is the tuition fee for most Colleges/universities in the U.S 2) I learnt that after admission into any school, there are schools that accepts part payment in U.S, i.e after gotten there, i can be allowed to be paying the tution fee bit by bit until it's finished and i will still be working, is this true please? 3)what are the processes for applying for visa 4) what are the documents needed 5) And can one do the visa application by himself without an agent? |
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 16 by Nobody: 11:40am On Apr 05, 2021 |
ChinmaRoxy: If you can still see the ”reschedule appointment” button at the top left corner, then there is no problem. Whenever you click the button, it would show a pop up message, indicating that you will have to pay another MRV(the message is for when you have actually rescheduled), you will still see available dates, when you click on the desired date you can see and schedule an appointment. |

Plssss, break it down for me. I am yet to understand u. @ Potentialnurse... I ve understood it now. It means that if I cancel the reschedule appointment I ve to pay again, right? |

Omotomi05: let me try to answer you: 1. I believe most schools offer assistantships to the BEST pool of applicants who sent in EARLY applications. Regardless, you can always email them requesting info regarding funding &scholarships. They may even issue an assistantship form for you to fill. All in all, just send in a STRONG EARLY Application. 2. Yes you can use same SOP for multiple applications as long as it's same course and level of study. But be sure to edit some critical parts like name of school, research areas and Professors for every new application. Asides that, you're good. I hope this helps. 4 Likes |

You are right about the early applications. I remember I sent a mail to one MBA director on GA on March 10 and he told me to quickly apply, that early applications for GA will close on 15th of the same month. MistaJoey: |
