This right here is why I never do offline trips and one of the reasons I never travel out of town.

Some of them will want you to come pick them and still want to book you on bolt probably because they have promo forgetting the distance you covered getting to them.

I'll always take my chances with bolt.

Well offline can favour, it's all depend on power of negotiation, the only downside of this is when u get use to a particular rider, than freebies is inevitable.

100% the best u can get is 1yr plus, if unfortunate 3 months... Korean or Japan, they are all labels

The reason I didn't bother when I had battery issues. Just went for a tokunbo battery 12k. Still serving me 8+ months down the line.

Worked at ENL terminal @ apapa in 2015 with a company that bagged rice. Same rice was bagged into different named bags.

I agree with this but I just prefer to take my chances with bolt. Sometimes I make less money than the offline would have given me, other times I make more. Just yesterday, someone wanted to book me on an all day offline trip. Had to ignore his calls so he's not likely to ever call me again.

Thankfully, the money I realised from bolt, no way I would have gotten it from the man.

My Corolla 05 makes a knocking sound when I put on the ignition with the engine oil light on. It goes off when throttle down and sound normal.

Also, the engine oil light blinks when car is idle or while braking mostly when the engine is warm and must have work for several minutes or hour.

I have just charged the oil pump thinking that was the culprit but the problem still persist.

What could have gone wrong pls expert in the house?
pls how much did that oil pump that you bought go for?
mine too is make that sound at start up n my mech is calling price 4 me

Insightful. Same thing with uber. Some riders dont rate.

I have done 864 trips on uber in 8 months, but so far only about 450 riders have rated me. Yet to get to 500 minimum and revolving threshold.

Note also that the mathematics show that seven 1 star ratings out of 40 will draw you below 4.5 for Bolt.

P/S: Screenshot is not mine. Sourced from a Telegram group i belong to for Abuja drivers (CODA)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1st thing, 40 trip means 40 most recent trips. Which actually means 40 recent ratings from riders that bothered to rate. On Uber this is easy to understand. My stats there show I have done over 820 trips. Yet actual riders that have bothered to rate me are only about 450.

Let me brake down ratings maths for you

Say 33 riders give you 5 star. 33 * 5 = 165

And 7 riders give you 1 star 7 * 1 = 7

165 + 7 = 172

172 / 40 = 4.3 (bad rating)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Or say 34 rate you 5 star. 34 * 5 = 170

6 rate you 1 star. 6 * 1 = 6

170 + 6 = 176

176/40 = 4.4
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Or say 35 rate you 5 star. 35 * 5 = 175

5 rate you 1 star. 5 * 1 = 5

175 + 5 = 180

180/40 = 4.5 minimum acceptable.

So you see how Bolt standards are high/strict and why drivers get blocked alot.

Only allowed a f**ck of 5 rides out of 40
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Because bolt sample size is so small 40. A single bad rating is enough to alter over all rating significantly.

This is unlike uber who rate you out of 500 rides. That's why ratings very stable on uber. And if you are blocked most likely for fraud related things and not poor ratings
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The only thing i think Bolt can d9 about this rating issue is to increase the threshold to say 200 overall rating so that will give driver longer time to readjust.

They need to assume and treat all unrated trips as 5star trips.

I don't believe they use 40 rated trips to calculate rating again sef cos some weeks u don't even do up to 40trips and ur rating would have changed 3times.
Let's assume u do 40trips in a week and all the trips where rated, it is not possible to have 40riders rating u this week for last weeks trips, but lets assume this also happens so where did they get another set of 40 rated trips for the rating to change again the 3rd times.
I have been monitoring this but because I have been doing a lot of trips I ignored it, but last week I did 45trips only but my rating changed 3times. Am not raising alarm cos am still safe but it can be painful and demoralising when ur rating is dropping unexplainably like this. I feel ur pain.

Its easy to get 7 one star ratings out of 40 because most times only negative experience triggers rating and that's not a true picture of ur service delivery.

Uber get sense...a lot of thought went into their business process...they know that new drivers will need more time, experience and exposure to balance and get their rhythm, hence they have 500 trips before they get judgment but Bolt starts from day one to mark new drivers, so on Bolt u can get blocked within the first week of driving. But they both have their advantages and disadvantages sha.

Like rad mentioned, it's a moving average of your last 40 ratings. At every point in time, you always have 40 ratings from riders. What I don't know is when they decide to show changes in ratings. This exactly is what confuses us all.

Sometimes you get a 1 star rating and it reflects immediately, other times it takes a whole lot of days that you even start thinking maybe that nasty rider didn't rate you only to one day see it drop drastically.

This is funny. What most of us forget is, those people who respond to us are just customer care agents. They are at the lowest ladder of the bolt employee chain of command. There's very little they can do on their own.

It will rise again. Just keep being friendly with them. It's only a matter of time. Na wetin the riders want be that. Its hardly ever about how you drive which is what the app actually asks them to rate.

One time I was on 4.95 and picked a rider, said she was really impressed with my rating considering the number of rides I had completed. Told me well done and keep it up.

In my mind, I was just saying, if only you know. That 4.95 means nothing on bolt and can turn to 4.5 in one week.

Its all thanks to the foolishness of bolt and whoever developed that rating system

I shared it here last year that my bolt acct was activated without inspection report. I actually paused the process of registration before covid struck and only to get WhatsApp message towards the end of last year that my acct was activated. ( Earlier before, I only provided my DL and Car docs while I was yet to be activated because I hadn't provided inspection report)
