People that are used to Nja tastes and pkroducts think they are inherently better but it's just about exposure and what folks are used to.

Like some think there are no better easy cook noodles or noodles (full stop) than the Indomie brand; to the extent of bringing cartons from Nja.

That said, @Lexus; it will be interesting to know whether we were making any sort of bread in Nigeria or subsaharan African before the introduction from either the Arabs or the Europeans.

Did our people ground any sort grain to make any sort of bread including flat bread, Chapati, nan, rough dough bread and so on?

Black History - much of it lost forever and ever...

Reminds me of powdered milk. This was probably introduced by the Europeans, perhaps due to short shelf life of fresh milk. We hardly drink fresh milk in Nigeria now but prefer powdered milk. We have acquired so many tastes that we now think it has always been like that. Don't talk about stockfish.

My daughter is a year and six months. She is in day nursery (day care) £60 per day. From 7am to 7pm. I stay in Romford. Some areas maybe more expensive.

OMG that’s a lot! I saw 40 per day and was complaining oo

Brioche is just one type - overrated in my view but it sweeten and soft white bread; so I can understand why someone want to take it to nja.

Just so we on the same page, it goes way beyond the actual product itself but the gesture behind it. I could give 2 f***s what she does with it.

I just wanna see her face lit up when I hand her these overrated bread and the joy in her heart when she knows her baby still remembered and got her one of the overrated bread from “ovas”.

Ighotago now? Dazzit cheesy

Oh thank you very much

It depends on how long she has worked in the UK. Below would be the requirement for SMP

you work for your employer in the 15th week before your baby is due and have worked for them for at least 26 weeks before that (you can find your dates by entering your due date below)
your average pay, before tax, is at least £120 a week

Couldn't get an answer on the student thread, my question is that:

I have been seeing that people pay their tuition with naira account, and the pounds equivalent is deducted, my dad has dollar in his Stanbic domiciliary account.

Can we pay the tuition with the dollar, my plan was to Change the dollar to naira and pay the tuition.

Also, which of the two is cost effective in terms of paying with the dollar or naira?

Hi everyone. Good to belong to this family. My friend just told me about living in the UK threads. I came to the UK in January. I’m a post graduate student staying in Wolverhampton. It has really been difficult for me to rent a house. My husband and children are meant to come in April but I still haven’t been able to rent a house because I’m a student and not working yet. Please I really need help on how to go about it. . My children don’t understand why they are still in Nigeria when they already have their visa. Please help!!! It’s weighing me down. Any one in Wolverhampton I can hook up with? Please I need all the contacts and ideas I can get. Thank you.

Hi, I can imagine your frustration. I hope you've made a headway going by all the suggestions hitherto.

Tuition fees is done using deposits. Meaning that you’ll fill a form and submit it, then the bank will deduct the equivalent they need from the bank account and pay what you intended to pay.

In other words. The currency no matter.

Paying with the naira is more cost effective, if you can change your USD to naira at the unofficial rate.
E.g. you change USD to naira at 483. You then fund your naira account and do the Form A process to pay your fees, which uses the official exchange rate of 410 or whatever it is now. So you save yourself some change on the spread of 72 naira.
