greetings @justwise please how is Hertfordshire in terms of student jobs, accommodation and living cost.

I don’t see Hertfordshire as a cheap or affordable place to live especially as a student on budget, cities too close to London are usually expensive but jobs will not be an issue

Good morning good people. Please kindly help out.
I applied to the MSc Finance program at Northumbria University, and Sunderland. I planned going to Northumbria. Truth be told, I stuck to those to stay close to my cousin and her family as per jjc. I had Germany in mind till she convinced me to come to UK which I'm grateful for. We are only related and not too close. She and her hubby have good permanent jobs and say it's a family friendly area.i plan going with my wife and kids so a friendly area with job prospects will be great, issue here is, I would have preferred MSc accounting and finance as I have been an accountant for about 15 years and I feel it's broader. Pls, kindly help,
1) Am I missing out if I study for the Finance instead of Accounting and finance as d cost to stay close to someone I know?
I. E) will they have equal opportunities in the job market?
2)if so, pls kindly suggest good schools that don't exceed 16k, offer finance and accounting MSc, are located in nice places with good job prospects(I have used Google, but I wudnt know about job prospects and 'family friendly' aspects )
3)please, what skills, certifications, etc can I learn to help boost my cv.
Thank you

Thank you for your response. I appreciate. Please what other option will you recommend aside warwick please

Manchester is another good option as it gives you both..opportunity for jobs and affordable cost of living, Manchester is also a huge student destination both home and foreign students, not many cities has that qualify in the UK

To the best of my knowledge, it shouldn’t but they’ll also ask you during your TB test. Be sure to disclose for the safety of your baby.

Thanks for you response @AA07
I will make sure I do that.

Good morning, all.

@justwise

I am applying for MSc Psychology (conversion) at Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge. Please, I need insights on cost of living in Cambridge and chances of getting part time jobs in a mental health facility as I also want to garner experience in the mental health field while I earn an income.

Good afternoon guys, please I need advice from gurus in the house.

I have gotten admission offers from Teesside University, Uni Sunderland and Uni Wolverhampton for Semptember. Teesside tuition - 13,000 to deposite 4000 with 2000 scholarship. Sunderland tuition - 13,500 to deposite 3500 with 1000 scholarship and Wolverhampton tuition- 13950 to deposit 3000 with 1000 scholarship. I really don't know much about these cities and I would prefer a place with friendly living expenses and part time job opportunities. Please guys your advice will go a long way to helping me make a decision on wish of the schools I should accept.

Go for Sunderland, its very close to Newcastle as Newcastle has jobs.

Manchester is a very big city with affordable cost of living, there are more job opportunities in Manchester than Leeds and Sheffield. Leeds is London of Yorkshire , lively, big student community, good transportation hub and about 45mins away from Manchester.

Sheffield is big as well with two big universities,a well known shopping centre and two football clubs.

Job opportunities in Sheffield will not be as much as Manchester and Leeds

My preference will be Manchester-Leeds then Sheffield

All three cities have good transportation network and not far from each other.

Their universities are well ranked as well.

Justwise, your opinion pls?
How practical will it be for a family of four to live in Leeds but the student schooling in Bradford?
Or living and schooling in Bradford with the dependent partner working in Leeds.

Which will you recommend and pls give your reasons. thanks

Hello people

I have been seeing that people pay their tuition with naira account, and the pounds equivalent is deducted, my dad has dollar in his Stanbic domiciliary account.

Can we pay the tuition with the dollar, my plan was to Change the dollar to naira and pay the tuition.

Also, which of the two is cost effective in terms of paying with the dollar or naira?

Guys I need advise.
I applied for UK Visa, already started my course online since Oct 2020.
I got a mail from TLs yesterday to come pick up my passport but no mail from UKVI.
I picked it up and there's no decision on my passport, no rejection letter, no vignette.

I need to know what to do

Sheffield is sweet.

You will be able to work in care homes, probably 30mins-1hour from your location.

If you like to talk a lot, you can work with charity orgs grin grin

Also, stores like Tesco, Primark do recruit store assistants. You may get one if you're lucky.

Amazon warehouse is not that far from uni, while ASOS is in barnsley(50mins free coach/ 20mins train).

I do not know about these periods as CVID19 don spoil show.

To minimize your expenses, try to live near London road, Bramall lane.

If school resumes early, you can search for teacher active and take up a cover supervisor job.

For expenses, it depends on you. There are £190 -£250 a month rooms (artic) at Bramall lane and London road. You can also get ones around £500-£800. A month bus pass is £38 with your student ID. Feeding depends on you as well.

I will recommend bradford to Leeds, you will save more money living in Bradford than Leeds though Leeds is more developed.

Leeds is just 20mins away from Bradford by train or 45mins by coach
