The federal government has again given reassurance of timely completion of rehabilitation work of the Abuja-Kaduna- Kano road project before the 2023 deadline.
The reassurance was given by the Director of Highways Construction and Rehabilitation in the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing, Funso Adebiyi during an inspection of the Kaduna- Zaria portion of the road to assess the progress of work so far.
Speaking to journalists during the inspection, Mr. Adebiyi says the federal Ministry of WORKS and Housing is determined and committed to completing the road project before the 2023 stipulated time, adding that work is going on simultaneously in the Abuja -Zaria and Kano end of the 375-kilometer dual carriage road.
He also expresses satisfaction with the quality of work being done by the contractor handling the road project.

On the work done so far, the Director explains that over 100 kilometers have been completed under section one to three portions of the highway, stating that remedial works were being carried out on the dilapidated portions of the road in order to ease Movement of commuters
He however, advises motorists and other road users to be patient and drive with caution to reduce the recurring incidences of motor accidents being recorded along the road.
It would be recalled that the Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano road reconstruction project was awarded to Julius Berger Nigeria Plc, on December 20, 2017.

The quality of the road is extremely poor and will not last after rainy reason. And is constructed for a much higher amount per kilometre than world class roads constructed in Namibia.

* Weeps for the fantastically corrupt failed state*

BMC and TMC crew come and see the current progress of the reconstructed N797 billion road at a record N2.1 billion per kilometre. Take note, this is not a brand new road that requires new bridges, clearing of trees or compensation to displaced residents affected by the road construction.

The fantastically corrupt failed state needs to be colonised by Namibia that has the best road network in Africa, security and 24 hour electricity. Since, our leaders like Babatunde "Inflated Projects" Fashola have decided to consistently inflate projects and still deliver sub-standard projects.

Windhoek,Namibia at night.

Review of the reconstruction by blogger. I shame for the useless leaders that turned the country to a failed state out of greed.

The road reconstruction is extremely poor and substandard and will not last after rainy season.

More pictures of Namibia world class highways on the same African continent. Compare and contrast with the N2.1 billion per kilometre Abuja-Kano road Babatunde "Inflated Projects" Fashola is building.

I’m struggling to see the $1.4 Billion dollars in this road! It’s true what they say that contracts are overpriced in Nigeria due to kwarruption! Same kwarruption that sack of bones was telling everyone he was coming to handle in 2015!

Any wonder Julius Berger and all these Arab contractors don’t wanna leave!?

Minister of Works, Babatunde "Inflated Projects" Fashola can inflate the cost to $10 billion dollars if he likes. All we are asking for is the same quality as Namibian roads.

That is apparantly too much to ask and they will still deliver Ajegunle quality roads that will develop massive potholes as soon as rainy season starts.

At least we are seeing the roads constructed even though the contract amount was exaggerated, wondering if looting party Pdp had not been constructing their own roads on paper for good 16 years, Nigeria would have been more better

Watch the video of the current state. Worst road construction in history of mankind and will likely last a month after rainy season before it collapses to the state described in the TVC News report.
